30 For 30- "The Two Bills"

CRinCA : 4/19/2018 7:45 pm
Just got around to watching this. Enjoyed it up until the end where Parcells and Belichick are looking into the case where the 4 Giants SB trophies and associated rings are displayed.

Belichick points and says "Those are our two" (meaning the Giants) then points and says "Those are the two we gave them" (meaning the Patriots).

"Gave them"???? That in itself pissed me off. Then while walking away from the case Parcells says "Should have never lost that game" then sarcastically adds "Tyree".

Maybe I'm biased because I've always felt the 2 of them were assholes, but this just underscored it for me.
I'd slam my hand in a car door for either of them to coach this team

Oh, for f-ck sake...

What did you want Belichick to say? Those are the two trophies we lost because we got beat by vastly superior teams?

What do you think Marv Levy and Jim Kelly would say if they walked through and saw the SB we won thanks to the Norwood shank?

It was a lighthearted moment. BFD.

Quit acting like an Eagles fan. It's very unbecoming.
Wow. Over-react much?

If you watch the show it does not come off even remotely as a light hearted moment.

I suppose I would expect some class in the vein of Tom Coughflin, but when in recent memory have the "Two Bills" shown anything displaying class.
Coughlin

I don't think Belichick
pjcas18 : 4/19/2018 8:14 pm : link
meant it disrespectfully I just think he expects to win every game and when his team doesn't he thinks it's because his game plan wasn't executed properly.

maybe not the classiest thing to say, and probably arrogant, but that's probably part of what him the GOAT.

and it didn't really bother me, I thought that 30 for 30 was riveting.

He tipped his hat to the Giants gave a monster hug to Coughlin. I’m not fussed by that at all....two close games that came down to the wire
Yeah I may not have taken it as "personally" as I did-
CRinCA : 4/19/2018 8:29 pm : link
Had it not been followed by Parcells apparently derisive comments.

You don’t remember Bill walking off the field before time expired during the first game. It was the lowest form of sportsmanship ever.

pj- off topic, but I recently came across an awesome appetizer recipe.

French onion soup meatballs. I even made them as sliders in those mini Hawaian rolls. Will post link if you are interested.

Seems I may want to stick to food threads anyway...

Absolutely, sounds delicious please post.

Nothing wrong with this thread, I just didn't see it the same way as you did in this case. I have no issue with your opinion though.

he shook Coughlin a hand before he left the field. Gave him a big hug after 46.
He didn’t shake his hand

He left the field before the Giants knee’d the ball to win the game. He left before the game was over and didn’t congratulate anyone. He might have done it the second time, but the first time he was a huge asshole.

pj- here it is: A few suggestions:

Absolutely use (Beef) Better Than Bullion. It makes a world of flavor difference.( Ignore the "chicken" typo in the blog).

Shredded mozz is fine, but using shredded swiss, or even better, Gruyere, ups the ante

Mix some caramalized onions and cheese into the meatball mixture if desired. It's awesome.

Wondra works better than regular flour if you have it

Hope you like it. Shoot me an e-mail if any questions.

Little known fact- Little Caesars pizza cheese is half Muenster, half mozzarella.

On pumpernickel with a few slices of Munster...

Delicious
Ya know..

I'm not sure that I have seen pumpernickel in recent memory. Certainly not up here by SF.

My dad was German so back in the day my mom always had pumpernickel and/or black bread for his liverwurst/Muenster sandwiches etc.

20+ years on BBI and I just realized I've mullered my own thread!

Belichick absolutely ran across the field and not only shook Coughlin's hand, but gave him a hug. It's all on video. Belichick basically went through Mike Carey to MAKE SURE he congratulated Coughlin.
