have Rosen off their board. Any guesses? I'll go the Jets and the Browns. Jets because of Woody Johnson's relationship to the president and Cleveland because he's their 4th QB and they pick 1 as is Link - ( New Window )
I don't really see how that's a questionable comment. Many in the media have mentioned this as a possibility before given the hat Rosen decided to wear on his golf course and Woody's ambassador position
If it was say Cleveland and Denver you would say 2 teams in top 5. If it were Jets and Cleveland you might say 2 in top 5 but would not say top 6. You would only say top 6 if one was picking 6.
Perhaps but there is a difference between not being in the conversation and being off the board. Whoever you have ranked 4 is not in the convo at 2 but not off your board.
and he claims sources there, so that would make sense. Althugh Broncos and Colts having JR off the board wouldn't be much news.
Allbright has been adamant that Jets will take Mayfield (his favorite QB) over Rosen. Even said he bet some of his own money on that, which I can't, offhand, recall another journalist/announcer saying.
Dorsey has been too close to the vest for Allbright to make a serious claim about the Browns.
Jets because of the Woody-Trump connection and Colts because he seems like he’d rub that owner the wrong way, too. I don’t get the sense that teams will be as concerned about his injuries as we are/I am.
That said, gun to head, Inthink he’s the best and becomes the most successful QB of this bunch.
I think character/off field/medical considerations not we have other guys we like better. So having 1st and 4th pick and ranking him the 4th QB wouldn't mean he was off the board. It would just mean he was lower on the board. You would keep him on the board in case a Lael Collins or Laremy Tunsil situation emerged on one of the other guys or if he dropped far enough that he became too good a value to pass up.
Have a hard on for Rosen and then being non-commit and/or coming off as not interested is their way of hiding their affection for him? Hasn’t that been said by either (or both?) Sy’56 or Colin?

This is my guess. No inside sources - just seems like how DG would operate. Plus Rosen was #1 or #2 before all the Josh Allen workout/combine hype. DG will see past that.
The words chosen by Gettleman when asked about Rosen.
Look at the wording of the question that he was asked and exactly how he answered.
There is your hint that Rosen isn't even a real possibility, even in a small trade down to 5 or 6, or even 12.
I'm predicting a Rodgers like drop but this time rightfully so.
There is not a word in DG's press conference that suggests to me that Rosen is not a possibility for the Giants at #2. Basically, there isn't a word of DG's press conference that was consequential other than:
1) The Giants are definitely not using future assets to move up;
2) The Giants did release Brandon Marshall; and
3) Davis Webb has no impact on the 2nd pick - a statement DG made but shockingly no one seems to have caught.

He did not say Webb would not have an impact. Some reporters said that in their summary. What he actually said was this:
Nothing is going to TOTALLY change the top of the board. Seeing Davis next week is going to be fun for us because he’s a great kid, he works his fanny off, he has been following Eli (Manning) around like a little puppy dog since he walked in the door and it will be a neat opportunity to see him play. Yeah, sure, EVERYTHING AFFECTS THE BOARD. I’D BE LYING IF I SAID NO, but at the end of the day, I’m looking forward to it.

Could you explain that again in 5 sentences with an aabba rhyme scheme?

There once was a QB from UCLA
Who might not go as high as they say
For two out of six
He was not in the mix
Makes for an interesting Draft Day

I trust your view, and that you know more than I, but I actually came away with the opposite impression. Interesting.

Them, not then.

Rosen is the #1 or #2 what exactly???
Certainly not the #1 or #2 player in the draft

I give it a B-. It should be:
There is a QB from L.A.
Who might not go as high as they say
For two out of six
He was not in the mix
Makes for an int'resting Draft Day
But nice try
Rosen is the #1 or #2 what exactly???

You don't know this.

I'd say the Browns since Rosen hinted that he didn't want to play for them a couple of months ago.
Today it's started to make the rounds that Darnold will be wearing a brown tie to the draft.
Browns tried to run some smokescreens but all fell flat. It's been Darnold for some time now
Gettlemen has always said he wants a player that hates to lose.
Now if Gettlemen said Rosen hates to lose.. then you have your smoking gun.
Unless of course your source is from Denver and you don't want to give it away.
