They haven't picked up his 5th year option yet, so he very likely could be a FA after this season. Do they have him on the roster as a back-up on scholarship?
I would bet that unless he shows significant progress by th end of training camp that he'll be shown the door...it's a new day in E. Rutherford.
Im waiting for someone to suggest moving Solder to RT because he Â
His contract this season is 100% guaranteed. He gets paid no matter whether he plays or they cut him. 0 cap savings if he is cut. Real easy to miss the voluntary workouts.

I honestly don’t even think this matters. It may have mattered with Reese, but I think Gettleman is serious about cutting dead weight no matter the cost.

Now that he's older, lets move Solder to RT so there's less pressure and keep EF at LT.
(the devil made me do it);-)
But I will guess we get a 2nd tier LT with the second 3rd rd pick, let him fight for RT; if he wins the job may stay his until CW further develops and battles next season for the job. If he doesnt win the job, then its CW and the pick is bench in waiting.
Why would anyone trade for anything of value for this guy Â
There's now three years of game tape of him being at best below average.
If he doesn't win a starting spot he'll stay on the roster for emergency depth, and then at the end of the season he'll walk.
Well I would've thought there was lots of game tape showing Richburg getting blown back into Eli's feet so often but look what he got. I'm not saying EF would get that kind of $$ but someone might take a flier on him, and offer up something if they had an injury and need.
Not showing up on the workouts. He would have showed that he was committed to the team and not a malcontent.
I have to think the Giants will draft 2 OL next week. Wheeler is developing. I'm thinking Ereck will have to work to make the team at RT or RG (I still think he's a guard). He will need to show he's clearly better than his competition, or he's done. No more poison in the locker room...
Accorsi built the high character leadership championship Snee-Diehl-McKenzie-Line with a 2nd round pick, bubblegum and rusty nails. We wasted a 9th overall pick on Flowers and another reach 1st round pick on Justin Puke.
IMO it would be Wheeler and his 20+ more pounds, unless Â
and RG & maybe Center are their issue

Attitude towards the opportunity learn from the new staff would be important.
And work on balance issues so he can have the confidence to flow better towards defenders.
