NFT: Fan in KISS makeup plays live with Foo Fighters

Greg from LI : 4/20/2018 12:37 pm
This was pretty damned cool. Earlier this week, Foo Fighters played a show in Austin. A fan in the audience with Gene Simmons makeup was invited on stage. Dave Grohl offers to let him play a song - something he's done before with fans. This time, though, the fan stuns him by playing Monkeywrench flawlessly.

Well, that was all kinds of awesome

Yeah, Pretty Cool for that kid

wow. what an experience.

The reactions by Grohl

were telling. This young man was talented. If not a plant in the audience and completely random choice, this is a neat moment in music.
that was fun

Foo Fighters are great.
My friend was there

He said the crowd was going pretty crazy for this guy.

Grohl does stuff like this often. He’s an amazing front man. Like them or not, you can tell they just like to play music together. I’ve seen hundreds of concerts and Foo Fighters are the best live band I’ve seen in probably 20 years. GF and I are flying to Seattle to see them at Safeco In August. I can’t wait.
Grohl realizes how fortunate he's been

right place right time more than once, he should be grateful.
There's nobody like Dave Grohl

So damn cool. I'll be at MSG on July 17th and can't wait. Love at the end after praising Kiss Guy and asking for hugs when he goes: "Ok, now get the f off my stage!" Great front man and a great, great rock band.

Couldn’t agree more. I saw him in his throne July 4 a few years back at RFK. He had 50,000 people in the palm of his hand for three hours while sitting down. Amazing
Dude is named Yayo Sanchez

Look it up on Reddit. Apparently has jammed with many bands. Quasi ringer.
I was watching the video last night and loved it

Turns out kiss guy is an accomplished player and has been up on stage with Billy Gibbons and Slash so he's no amateur. But it's still cool
very cool

can't help but think that he was probably a plant and not completely random fan.
This seems to happen a lot with the Foos.
Mr. Bungle : 4/20/2018 3:03 pm : link
They're definitely cool moments for the crowd during the performance. But when you can YouTube so many "fan is invited on stage with Foo Fighters and nails it!" videos, you start to wonder how random they are.
Can’t wait to see them at Jones Beach this summer.

for a bunch of young guys they sound awesome
He supposedly
myquealer : 4/20/2018 7:34 pm : link
had a sign saying "Pick me, I play guitar", so it wasn't prearranged, but it wasn't a totally random fan.
Grohl
Tim in Eternal Blue : 4/20/2018 9:11 pm : link
grabbed a fan when I saw them live several months ago. Picked a college kid out of the crowd who played "Under Pressure".

They do this quite a bit. Grohl is awesome.

I was thinking the same thing...
Second-best show I’ve ever seen.

CitiField. Group on the thrown. So great. Plus the bonus of Royal Blood opening.

* Best: Floyd at the Carrier Dome, October 1987

pulling the pick out his pocket and the knowledge of running the stage from side to side was a pretty big indicator. Lame song from a tech perspective, but was clever.
Amazing
