This was pretty damned cool. Earlier this week, Foo Fighters played a show in Austin. A fan in the audience with Gene Simmons makeup was invited on stage. Dave Grohl offers to let him play a song - something he's done before with fans. This time, though, the fan stuns him by playing Monkeywrench flawlessly.

Grohl does stuff like this often. He’s an amazing front man. Like them or not, you can tell they just like to play music together. I’ve seen hundreds of concerts and Foo Fighters are the best live band I’ve seen in probably 20 years. GF and I are flying to Seattle to see them at Safeco In August. I can’t wait.
Couldn’t agree more. I saw him in his throne July 4 a few years back at RFK. He had 50,000 people in the palm of his hand for three hours while sitting down. Amazing
They do this quite a bit. Grohl is awesome.
I was thinking the same thing...

can't help but think that he was probably a plant and not completely random fan.

pulling the pick out his pocket and the knowledge of running the stage from side to side was a pretty big indicator. Lame song from a tech perspective, but was clever.
