Josh Allen & Baker Mayfield at 1. No clue how plugged in he is, but he does work for the Browns so maybe he knows what he is talking about? All I know is I'd be very happy if Darnold fell into our lap.
@DustinFox37: Latest Ive heard its between Allen and Mayfield for the #Browns. Who would you rather have? |
Didn't Hue Jackson say they were taking a QB first overall?
Ben Allbright also said they are 100% not taking Barkley at 1. So maybe he isn't wrong?
Wow. Haven't seen that handle in a while.
I think the Browns go Josh Allen #1 too. They already have Tyrod Taylor who is a pretty good QB. I have a feeling they see Darnold as someone who is Taylor-like with a bit more upside, but not a ton more upside. Allen has a lot more potential upside. I feel like signing Taylor, who isn't that old, gives them the comfort to go for the guy who they see as having more upside potential in time and who fits Dorsey's prototype.
Jet fans should keep there shit on Jets sites. Just sayin'.

Who knows, maybe someone here does have legit intel, but it seems people are mostly throwing out wild speculation.

They know we want Mayfield and they want to scare us into trading up to 1 to lock him in.

Allen is project that may need as many as 2 years to be ready to start. The Browns can do this with Taylor there as he's a competent starter. Mayfield would also probably have to sit a year in Cleveland. We have a 39 year old McCown and Bridgewater whose knee still ain't right. I'm not convince Bridgewater even plays with us this year. He may get cut. Mayfield would be starting by week 4-5 as a Jet and that's what he wants
Mayfield is even more so.
Thanks, I was just reading this in your newsletter the other day. All these year's later, still a must read.

is insane.
Mayfield is even more so.
Simply put, I don't believe anything I read. I believe the Giants are leaking Barkley stuff to get the Browns to take him at 1 so they have their pick of the QBs at 2. The Browns are leaking garbage to try to get more picks to move down and still get their guy at 2 or 3. As the Cards' GM said, it's lying season, so there is no reason to believe anything you read.
Hands too small???
Lol
If the Browns want Mayfield they are NOT trading the pick.
ALso, Joey, start looking at hair brushes....
That itself might be BS but at least has some shred of plausibility.
Anyone claiming to know what Dorsey thinks is FOS, and I'd say that goes for the "asshat trade" thread as well.
This other item on Fox's twitter supports the notion that he is only actually referencing the coaches' (alleged) opinions:

I think Darnold makes the most sense. But I know the coaches arent high on him for whatever reason."
Per cleveland.com, Dorsey will break from his isolation to meet with the offensive staff (including Hue J) this afternoon. But I still suspect that will mostly be a one-way where he will hear what they have to say and not tip his own hand.

Obviously nobody knows for sure, but there are a lot of people who do have inside sources that keep bringing up Allen to the Browns. The Browns have the 1st pick so their is really no reason for them to create smokescreens.
This time of the year Bob Papa is killing it on Champions Tour Golf. Ask him about the short game of Colin Montgomerie or Bernhard Langer and you got yourself a tuned in pro.

If Darnold doesn't have a lot more upside than Tyrod Taylor he doesn't belong in the first round.

is that Fox said the Browns' coaches wanted Allen or Mayfield.

I'm guessing that Cleveland is keeping the smokescreen up because they're trying to maximize the chances of also getting the guy they want with their #4 pick.
You have to feel sorry for the dumb. That he's a Jet fan posting here is just further proof.
Allen, Barkley, Darnold, Mayfield, aren t they all distinct possibilities?

I never said Darnold has less upside than Taylor. Wasn't my post
From what? They pick 1st.

Why would the Browns want to move to the 3rd pick? To win the right to get the third QB off the board. That makes no sense.
The difference with the Giants & Browns is that the Browns pick 1st so they really have no reason to he putting smokescreens out. They get to choose any player they want. We don't.
It's not just Dustin Fox either. A lot of people with ties to Dorsey have said they are taking Allen.
Here's a list just off the top of my head whose said the Browns will pick Allen 1st overall. Peter King, Daniel Jeremiah, Ian O'Connor, Dane Brugler, Lance Zierlein, Marcus Mosher, Kurt Warner and now Dustin Fox. Where there's smoke there's fire.

Made the statement that the Browns owners don't even know what direction Dorsey is going. Dorsey is a seasoned GM, who like Gettlemen has kept everyone guessing what his team will do. I'd bet the Asshat is guessing

They also have the 4th pick and want to maximize that pick. Tipping their hand on the first pick makes that a lot harder.
