And why they are "Gushing over Barkley".

Barkley is #2 on their overall board. #1 is Darnold. The gushing is not an act. Giants will take Barkley at #2 and be happy, but the best case scenario is that he goes #1 to the Browns and the Giants instead get their #1 guy in Darnold. The Giants have nothing to lose gushing over Barkley and letting their opinion on him become public. They are at #2 and he will be there. If he isn't there, that means their #1 guy (Darnold) is.

I totally agree. Whenever a team not in the #1 spot gushes over a player I immediately think they are trying to make something happen.
