Last Mock before the draft

Trade down with Cleveland
Flipping 2 and 4 and acquiring from Cleveland picks 33 and 35 and 64 plus flip flopping picks 139 and 114

Here we go

Picks
4. Quentin Nelson OG Notre Dame
33. Sony Michel RB Georgia
34. Darius Leonard OLB South Carolina St
35. Ronnie Harrison FS Alabama
64. Nathan Shepherd DT Fort Hayes St
66. DJ Chark Wr LSU
69. Chad Thomas DE Miami
108. Holton Hill CB Texas
114. Kevin Toliver CB LSU

No QBs. I’m on the Eli/ Webb bandwagon
And only one offensive lineman
Gettleman brought in Omameh to start at one of the guard spots
Wheeler and Flowers will battle it out at RT
Brett Jones will be the center
I think a player will drop to us in the 2nd even if

we don't do the Browns trade. I'm hoping one of the top OL. we need OL depth and OL for the future. I'm not sold on our OL yet.
Those that are on the Eli/Webb wagon
joeinpa : 4/21/2018 9:07 am : link
Conviently ignore the possibility that relying on Webb is at the very least as risky as they seem to think it is to take one of the quarterbacks.

Not saying you re wrong, because I don t know. But, I wonder how much of the confidence in Webb is that those of this opinion just don t want to use an asset like #2 on a player that won t factor into the immediate future.

The draft you present seems solid, although lacking the pizazz a quarterback or Barkley would generate and really could be a mistake if one of those quarterbacks flourish and Webb is Kent Graham.
No Oline?
Giant John : 4/21/2018 9:09 am : link
You choose good players but our second pick must be oline .

The first pick is OLine.
Love getting those Rnd 2 picks
Jay in Toronto : 4/21/2018 9:22 am : link
They could easily yield Round 1 value according to Sy's ratings.

Can't comment on your choices since I don't know who else would be available
That's a good mock. I do feel Chark will go in the 2nd round.
Ira : 4/21/2018 9:28 am : link
At 6'3 running a 4.34 at the combine with a good Senior Bowl, it's hard to see him lasting until the third.

Chark has fallen recently (e. G. MAYOCK)
Love the Nelson pick
dk in TX : 4/21/2018 9:33 am : link
The Giants need to come out of this draft with another Tackle and/or Center in that scenario. Flowers is unreliable at his best. I don't see him as the RT of the future. Any one of Wynn, Daniels, Daniels, Price, Williams and Ragnow will suffice.

We need to start building a formidable OL. This is a decent interior offensive line class.
Earl strong effort
Big_Blue_in_the_Bronx : 4/21/2018 10:00 am : link
That is a heck of a draft.
Harrison is a strong safety
est1986 : 4/21/2018 10:03 am : link
Not a great fit next to Collins IMO.

Half decent mock, no O-Line is a bit of head scratcher

Thx Big Blue. I want to give Bettcher as much ammunition as possible

Quenton Nelson in the first.

I guess me missing that is the only head scratcher
When it speeds over the cliff...

(Thelma and Louise style) let us know how you like life on the Eli / Webb bandwagon ;>)

With all those extra picks in RD 1 the Giants need to take a shot at the best remaining QB. (Rosen, Darnold or Allen will be available).

You don't take a guard at four when you have the first three picks in RD 2 and excellent guards should still be available.
In that scenario
idiotsavant : 4/21/2018 10:52 am : link
4. S - Fitz
33. RB - Sony Michel
34. DT -
35. OG/OT

Etc.
Value wise
idiotsavant : 4/21/2018 11:01 am : link
I'd rather DT at 33 and a variety of quick type LBs in rounds 3,4,5.

Then, maybe I am wrong but Fitz and James stand out? If so, grab one.

Whereas I like the idea of Vea playing next to harrison very much, there are some other badass DTs this year if one doesn't hesitate to long.

Whereas with the lbs, scatter gun approach, plenty of picks later.multiple picks. And a TE.
At 35 for example
idiotsavant : 4/21/2018 11:03 am : link
Very possibly value at DT will be higher than Harrison's value.

When Rosen gets a third and 4th concussion let me know how it is that this puck will set the franchise back 5 years
And I believe Sam is going 1
I think you need to ad another OL
Rjanyg : 4/21/2018 11:48 am : link
Mason Cole would be a good 4th round pick. Tyrell Crosby should be one of the 2nd rounders. We don't want to be in a spot with no OL depth.
call me ignorant but
Dr. D : 4/21/2018 12:46 pm : link
I just can't get excited about a guard at 4; even a great one.
this relies on Webb
Gregorio : 4/21/2018 12:48 pm : link
as the QB of the future. Too risky for me. Pass.

Get a franchise QB now. This opportunity is rare and will be too costly to pick at 2 in a future draft. Build the defense down the road.

I've seen Nelson compared to Snee, which is nice, but we got Snee at #34, not #4. How much better could he be than Snee, to be worth taking that high?

It also relies on Omameh, Wheeler and Jones as starting OL for the foreseeable future. I'd like to get another OL picked in rounds 2 or 3 this year, provided the value is there.

I agree. I love Nelson and Sony, but would likely add another Tackle instead of the LB.

Donald is the only one that is worth taking at #2. The same concept with Webb could apply to the rest of the QB crop in this year’s draft. That’s the dilemma DG will face.
Passing on a QB
sharpshooter66 : 4/21/2018 1:31 pm : link
Does not indicate that we put 100% faith in Webb, it simply indicates the reality that we have 2-3 years to find a starting QB of the future which we were uld have severap options.

I’m not even sure Flowers makes it out of camp at this point.
overall I liike it but...
Torrag : 4/21/2018 6:29 pm : link
...I'm not a fan of Michel. Bit of a tweener, isn't that fast or physical at around 6'/215# and holy fuck he fumbles a lot. Like a lot, a lot.
