Let's face it, our roster has a lot of holes. While the draft isn't about this year, we can go a long way toward fixing the roster by maximizing our asset. That asset is the #2 overall pick. If Gettelman has convinced the Browns how much he loves Barkley, here's hoping they pony up 2 #2s and a high pick next year.
#4 Bradley Chubb Edge N.C. State
#33 Braden Smith G/T Auburn
#34 Billy Price C/G Ohio State
#35 Isaiah Oliver CB Colorado
#66 Ronald Jones RB U.S.C. (if gone, Rashaad Penny, RB San Diego State).
#69 Michael Gallup WR Colorado State
#108 Breeland Speaks DL Ole Miss
#139 Damon Webb FS Ohio State
We had a lousy pass rush last year, and traded away JPP. Chubb steps in right away, and adds some dog to the defense. Smith and Price are versatile linemen who could potentially start next year on our craptastic line. Oliver could be the top cover corner in the draft. Jones could be the home run threat in our backfield we haven't had since...no one? Gallup could grow into our #2 outside receiver. Speaks is a 3-4 end with upside, and Webb could give Thompson a run at FS.
Or they could all stink. Have at it!
Vanderesche
RB of our choice
Then, mis dos centavos: Why your DT? Wuchu think of Lotulele as a late ish DT if that's how it falls?
Impressive.
But anyway love this mock i would substitute Lowell Lotulele or one of the bigs. Hard to find outside of the draft, those.
Get stronger immediately across the board in multiple areas...
#21(used #69 to trade up) Guice RB
#34 James Daniels OG
#35 Mike Hughes CB
#66 Kemoko Turay ER
#108 Antonio Callaway WR
#139 Kylie Fitts DE
If we were to move down to Cleveland's spot at 4, something that I don't think Cleveland will be willing to do despite the rumblings, we may as well trade down again to a team that is hot on Mayfield/Rosen/Allen (whoever is remaining after the first 3 picks and wants to get ahead of Denver), and get that 2019 first rounder as well as additional picks.
At any rate, I don't like the draft, I think 33 is too high for Braden Smith even though I like him. I'm hoping one of Isaiah Wynn or Will Hernandez would be hanging around at that pick. If not, Sony Michel would be a better choice than RoJo even if he were still available at number 66, which I think is questionable. I think it's Barkley, Michel, Chubb, Guice, RoJo, then Penny in terms of the top 6 guys.
And give me James Daniels or Ragnow over Price. But it is a good effort.
I'd love to get Oliver or Josh Johnson (Jackson?). If we had to choose between either and OL at 34, that's a really tough one, and I appreciate need for OL as much as anyone. What's chance really good OL is there at 66? Rankins?
I am afraid there are going to be a lot of disappointing people on Thursday evening.
And yes, I know its the Browns!
