11. Giants (20) Pro Bowlers: 2 Best Pick: Odell Beckham Jr. (2014, first) Worst Pick: Ereck Flowers (2015, first) A ranking this high will be shocking for many Giants fans, who blamed former GM Jerry Reese for everything. But Beckham and Landon Collins are two terrific picks. He also landed solid starters in Justin Pugh, Weston Richburg and Sterling Shepard. |
But Danny Boy certainly is...
Elliot and Prescott
JJ picks up nice talent...
For a guy that “blows,” he picked up a decent contract
Not familiar with McCall. Background?
Virtually nothing after the second round.....
Yet they were so good, that we didn't resign Pugh, Richburg, Hankins......
Apple and Tomlinson have yet to show they will be resigned....
Reese sucked at TE's, LB's, OL, FS, RB's, DL, CB's, etc.
29. Patriots (22)
Pro Bowlers: 1
Best Pick: Jamie Collins (2013, second)
Worst Pick: Dominique Easley (2014, first)
New England supporters will take issue with this low ranking, but Bill Belichick’s recent drafts have been awful. It is a testament to Tom Brady’s talent and Belichick’s roster ingenuity and coaching that the Patriots have been able to maintain their winning ways with drafting like this.
He is was considered a candidate for some GM positions this offseason but he wants to stay in Dallas.
And then because our Oline depth was so bad and he was "defaulted" the job by our moronic Front Office, he played all games.
It wasn't b/c he was any good.
I think Richburg could have been better had we not forced him to play OG as a rookie due to injuries. Physically he was dominated by college DT in a weak conference. He needed a redshirt year to gain the strength to be an NFL starter.
Winning your division basically every year keeps the fans happy. I'd rather have the Pats' success with lousy drafting than the Giants recent failures with adequate drafting.
Also, a lot of people grouse about Reese's lousy drafting but if you compare with the rest of the league, it's not terrible. Everybody misses sometimes. The overall failures and last year's implosion absolutely goes on Reese, though, along with the generally crummy roster. His coach, his players. Sorry, Jerry.
