Wade optioned to make room for Gleybe2 Torre5.
He just mashes lefties.
I was reading his launch angle is way down so far this year. If there is something to that you sure can see it in the balls in play so far.
But with the added walks, supreme confidence, leadership and now even more power, is he becoming a superstar?
Is this the real Didi? Will he get even better? Pretty cool stuff.
Also, gotta love Torreyes! Guy is such a pro and perfect 25th man, the way he is showing Gleyber Torres the way is truly wholesome.
Toe needs to stay, Wade will never be Toe.

Read this article. He has recently been quoted as saying that when he got this issue under control he felt much much stronger and explosive. I'd say his ceiling is what we will see this season or next.

That was a great read , thanks! Never knew that about Didi, its pretty amazing he's dealt with all that, and how little power he once had. What a great move by Cashman, it can't be said enough what a great trade that was.
3-0
These are huge huge hits.
Cannot imagine what his heart rate was....
As Romine strokes the two run double.
I'm shocked to see Travis in the lineup today. I guess he isn't as injured as reported.
Romine is the oldest at 29
Run faster and get there earlier. He should have had it.
He has done that a few times and certainly often enough to expect it is intentional. Pays for itself.

I didn't wanna say it out loud but i totally agree. That's a ball even ellsbury tracks with ease as a pro.
Hicks is good in CF and we know his arm is great but his finesse in CF is B grade. He's elite in the corners however.
No I mean should. His nonchalance is something I've seen on how he tracks alot of balls. An average CFer doesn't even get to that ball but he should have been there with enough time to make that catch.
Eh, he got there and I'd bet he makes that catch 7 out of 10 times. Not easy. Kiermyer, Pillar, Gardy and some others...
Crushed? Easy chopper - he swung over the ball, but yes, much better pitch recognition.
LF in Yankee Stadium is brutal and always has been.
A promising sign that the ump did not call a strike on that pitch...a few inches low to Judge and he called it right
Hanging slider.
3-1
Nice 7 innings by Sevy.
5-1
He, Stanton and Didi have played all 20 including today.

Thanks, he looks a bit tired. Between the games and the cold, I'm sure they all need a break.
Agreed. I cringed so hard when they booed him opening day
Been cringing harder ever since. Some of these fans are ridiculous
You can't stop stupid from happening. You can only ignore it. A couple of strong games in a row and those fans will be the loudest supporters.

to stop. Just silly. Not like he isn't trying hard.

So does Sanchez. You know they will both be raking soon.
beauty of baseball...Hernandez with a blooper for a hit, then Smoak with a 400 foot rocket for the last out of the inning
Andujar with an infield hit. Torres gets another AB.
That out review on austin will get someone fired.
Torres 0-4 debut will have to wait till tomorrow for his first hit
Mid May. Supposedly close to rehab games. Can't remember if that was the Post or RAB.
The accent on the 'du' doesn't sound right.

an-do-har - it is what it is. He would know how the family pronounces it.
* Severino the man
* Good paul O'Neill comments on the Hicks steal, that sabremetrics doesn't pick up the things like pressuring the d by running, forcing errors.
*Replay is a fucking joke. As Kay said, took us 6 seconds to see he was off the bag. how do they blow that? I'd rather see the on field call left Alone And a good dirt throwing argument. It's more entertaining, especially if they can't even get the most obvious call right
Nice work by the As cooling them off, 1 run on 6 hits for the Sox today. Price gave up a 3 run HR in the 8th to break a 1-1 tie

How the heck should his name be pronounced?

Yes but I've heard where the stress accent is both ways
And kaprellian still hasn't made it back into games yet I think.
silver lining to not getting Cole, Andujar looks like the real deal and we love Torres. Frazier prob wasn't gonna get us Cole, but we will need Frazier .
Gardy is quietly struggling at the dish but he's working counts and his Obp at .362 ish is very solid for now

Sounds strange to me too. Never heard the accent on the 2nd syllable, either but my Spanish is non existent.

Has Fowler even made it back yet ? I can't find any stats on him.
Fowler lost out on the MLB spot during spring training but he's playing in AAA and doing well.
The achilles heel of this team is starting pitching.
Keprelian was not better than Gray last year, this year and maybe next year.

the only difference is that Kaprelain is injured. You can't make that comparison. Gray has been horse shit since he got here, but he is physically able to play.

Agree that Gray is a better pitcher right now. Gray has to buy into using and trusting his stuff. Stop the nibbling and get ahead. I don't know why he continues to be off the plate so much. He just needs to throw strikes and not be afraid to get hit. The walks are what kills him, not hits.
93-95 mph FB with movement; filthy breaking stuff and change. He has everything a great pitcher needs, but seems to lack trust in it.
Yes i acknowledge he was injured.
I said...operative word...NOW.
the point is that Gray is all we had or could have had as a SP last year and this year and may still be better next year.
I dont think he is good at all. I dont think he is a Number 3. Pitches like a 5 on a good playoff team
The comment is about the state of Yankee starting pitching. We all want to hold on to every prospect.
We cant. Or we hopa hopa this year and buy expensive next year.
Yeah Sheffield. Could be great. Would be a rookie.
NOW...for now Gray is what we have. I agree he is not good enough especially with CC and Tanaka being injury prone.
We agree now that i clarified?

Yes so far in 64 ABs he's OPSing in around .560

crystal clear thanks

Take care
Yep. My dislike of Gray must be seeping into my writing :-)
Gray really needs to step up and do his part. Throw strikes and attack always
But Yanks are now 4 games into a stretch of 18 straight game days...bullpen will be taxed again unless a starter not named Severino can figure out how to be consistent.
