(with his Mom.... in studio) Brought on by Kay Jewelers.
How have you dealt with all the media with draft process- good support system, great people and people who surrounds himself with.
Weiss asked him if he was going to NY for the draft and Darnold goes- it is actually in Dallas this year.
They are indicating to him that you are probably going first.
Darnold will do whatever they want him to do- start, backup etc he will be best he can for any team that drafts him.
Weiss tells him they are not drafting him that high to sit.
Can't wait to finally be part of a team and moving forward from there.
Weiss is a bad interviewer. They asked Darnold if there are people he has leaned on through the draft process. He mentions Mom and Dad etc. but mentions both Palmers (Carson and Jordan), working with Jordan, Phillip Rivers and even Deshaun Watson as people who have come in and talked with him. Mainly the Palmer's were his go to.
Talking about previous sports (baseball, basketball, football and a little soccer). But also got into beach volleyball. He played LB and WR as a sophomore in high school, before moving to QB (due to injury).
Had visited Duke and almost went there but the USC gave him an offer. He was impressed with Coach David Cutcliff as being a reason he almost went there. Darnold's sister played Volleyball for University of Rhode Island. She is now a Grad Assistant there.
Asking what things will be like when Cleveland announces they pick him #1- have you thought about it. He said he was dreaming about being the first pick but wouldn't say what team it was that picked him.
I will say, he seems pretty level headed and has a good support system.
Of being a fan is when new young talent is infused into your team, especially at quarterback.
Been hoping all along for a quarterback, prefer Darnold, to sit fior a year while the Giants try to be revelant again this year with Eli.
Last season was a lost season. Not just because of the record, but losing with an aged quarterback. Eli s first season was fun even through the losing because of hoping what could be. Every game mattered, no time spent on worrying about draft position.
Would be fun watching games knowing future at quarterback might be secure. But that s just me I guess.

He is the absolute worst, and there have been some bad ones. He's extremely irritable, and he's seems to get angry at just about any question or opinion that comes his way. He's just brutal.
...going to the Browns at #1.

Fine career and Cleveland are a tough combination though.

Except he’s going to Cleveland.
