After looking at dozens and dozens of BBI mock drafts...

M.S. : 4/23/2018 10:09 am
...over the past 90 days, I just gotta say I've been surprised how very few of them had the Giants going offensive line at least twice within the first three rounds.

In fact, I'm not sure I can recall any going that way. (Maybe one or two?) Usually, I see a CB, DL, LB or RB, but hardly ever two offensive lineman!

Nothing really works with a football team without a decent O-line. This unit sets the tone for the entire team... both sides of the ball.

We need at bare minimum two additional quality starters who are not currently part of our O-line unit.

At least two.
I have always put the Giants with
superspynyg : 4/23/2018 10:14 am : link
at one oline in first 3 rounds.

If we go Qb or DE at 1 then rb and oline in rd 2-3
IF we go RB in rd 1 then Oline in rd 2
If we go Oline in rd 1 then another oline in rd 3 if he is BPA
When are you going to learn
Gman11 : 4/23/2018 10:15 am : link
that paying attention to mock drafts is a waste of time.
I think
mattyblue : 4/23/2018 10:15 am : link
A lot of that has to do with Barkley. People who want the QB seem to stick in a RB because of the amount of talented backs. I think it’s done to show you could get this RB and the QB without using the 2nd pick on a RB. Mocks past the first round seem weird to me. After round 1 you need to see who falls to you. Really need to play the board and I think a lot of posters see good backs in the 2nd.
Giants have a lot of needs
Mike in NY : 4/23/2018 10:16 am : link
And not many picks. Outside of TE, I can't think of one position that doesn't need to be considered this draft. That being said, just because we have these needs does not mean we should trade down for the sake of acquiring picks if we are passing up on players that we consider vastly superior to who may be around at the new pick and the extra picks don't represent sufficient value to cover the difference.
Its in line with what we know about DG's approach to
Beer Man : 4/23/2018 10:24 am : link
building the OL. He typically doesn't use the first round to go after his Hog Mollies. I suspect we may see OL in the second round
Completely agree...
the mike : 4/23/2018 10:51 am : link
Need two OL selected who are graded amongst the top 70 prospects - and this should still be within the objective of best player available as there appears to be solid depth this year especially with the interior line prospects...

Will be easier to do if we trade back for more picks, but either way, this simply has to be a top objective this year
It's a waste of time to look at mock drafts

Especially after the first round.
It says more about you than it does everyone else

when you are surprised that most people don't agree with your approach. Most times that isn't an indication that everyone else is a clueless.

Mike in Ohio... interested in how you would plan to fix one of the worst NFL O-lines over the past 5 years, which -- coincidence or not -- happens to be part of one of the worst NFL teams over the past 5 years.
Unless super value we shouldn't take 2 OL
giantstock : 4/23/2018 12:01 pm : link
That's why you haven't seen it.

We should take a QB with 1st pick. Then 2nd pick an OL but in 3rd round the projectd / possible starters for OL will be gone.

After taking a QB and OL in 1st two rounds- we need the following by priority:

1-- ANother starting DL. We only have 2 capable starters on the DL front which are Tomlinson and Snacks. We need a 3rd.

2-- A CB protecting Eli Apple failure.

3-- A good running back.

4-- We could use a Safety

Well, I'm sure cluster drafting OL and immediately putting them in the starting line up will only yield positive results.
And on this episode of Deep thoughts with M.S.

We delve into they thought process of why mock drafts can be random when constructed by random analysis.

You hit the nail on the head. One of the worst TEAMS in the league. The Oline is a problem, as is having an aging QB, and only one offensive weapon that worries anyone.

We spent two first round picks on the Oline the past few years. One of them is now gone, another should be. Maybe consider just drafting nothing but Oline until you have a star studded unit isn't the only way to build a team?
Some fans are frigging obsessed with

Wide outs and skinny edge rushers. And get brain freeze when asked to think otherwise.
I keep coming back to the

notion that, holy crap, what if the Giants draft a guy who has not been discussed much at all on BBI? At least not as a "top 10 guy."
