OLB Lorenzo Carter with the 66th pick
Sorry missed it pasting it.
Round 3, No. 66: OLB Lorenzo Carter, Georgia
3.Armani Watts S
3.Brandon Parker OT
4.Kameron Kelly CB/S
5.Jordan Chunn RB
They should though
You wait til the third rd for a linemen you're going to get third rd production.
This would be a great draft for me. Our running game is dramatically better then the last few years.
Will be like going from Kuhn to Snacks.
Price will be ready by training camp.
They're sold on Darnold at 1.
Quote:
I don't see the Giants drafting the injured Price at #34, when OL is such a critical need, or two in consecutive rounds. I'd also be surprised if Carter lasted until #66.
Price will be ready by training camp.
I know that, but I still think the Giants will decide it's too much of a risk.
2. Mike Hughes
3. Braden Smith
3. Darius Leonard
4. BJ Hill
5. Antonio Callaway

If the Giants buy the line that Price will be full-go for camp, #34 is plausible. The team seems comfortable with Jones - at least to start the season, so there might be time for Price to rebuild his strength after the pec heals. Center aside, though, it would be nice to land a plug-and-play guard like Isaiah Wynn or Braden Smith.
Price could also play G. Unfortunately, I don't think Wynn will be there.
the rb instantly becomes a top 5 paid rb with a ridiculous 5th year option of almost 20m
that guy better be barry sanders, which barkley is not
Have no fear - there is not a chance that the Browns take a RB with the first pick in the draft.

The problem is leaving OL until the third round. It's fine if you assume that Smith will be there at #66, but that's a big assumption. What if there's a run on OL in the second round?
If there's a case to be made for trading down, the need to fill lots of holes is a big part of it. Saquon Barkley may be a luxury this team can't afford. As much as I'd love to have "the next Marshall Faulk", it's worth noting that the original Marshall Faulk didn't prevent Indy from going 32-48 in his five years there.
If they think Eli really does have another couple years (with an improved OL, RB and playcalling) and that Webb could develop into his successor, I'm on board (wasn't 2 mos. ago, but I try to have an open mind).
^This.
Its because theyre football guys and probably arent going to draft a QB just to say they did. I think theyll stay true to their board
The NFL is littered with 1st rd RB's that flop, got hurt or just didn't make it.
Someone posted the Giants history of rd 1 RB's ... all disasters.
BIG MISTAKE
OLB Lorenzo Carter with the 66th pick
I'm ok with all of those picks, except the first one. I want a QB in first round. Then I'd think they need to get a RB in round 2 or 3, given that there's some real value there and if the Giants don't take Barkley, they need someone who has a legit shot to be a featured back with close to breakaway speed.
Otherwise I'd be pretty happy with this haul. I like Lorenzo Carter a lot too, but I tend to like OLBs who have great measurables and were highly touted out of high school -- DJ Williams type guys. I doubt though that Carter falls to the third round.
