Right now.
Saying there is legs to the idea of a 3 way trade with Giants, Browns & Bills.
Says he's been told Giants and Bills have an agreement on framework for a deal but havent actually agreed on the deal. No official word on the compensation. Gettlemen hadnt committed to it. ,
Good listen.
That show has it's warts but they've done a good job with getting guests on the last few weeks leading up to the draft.
A few weeks I think
Entirely possible DG has had legit talks with several teams - but no reason to rush a decision. Wait and see if someone gets desperate and seriously overpays to move up

How is he confirming a rumor? So, was the initial rumor throwing shit against the wall, and this confirmation means that he believes it stuck?
Everyone had the giants getting norwell. It happens.
He's a credible source of information but you never know how things will play out.

He said there were legs to it and that it wasnt complete hogwash.
He seemed to think a straight deal with the bills was far more likely however.
Nothing has changed since the last time this guy threw this rumor out there, so he's probably re-circulating it to get clicks or follows.
The question would be: Cleveland would probably get pick 12 from Buffalo, and NYG would probably get pick 22 from Buffalo.
But Cleveland would have to get a lot more from Buffalo, like at least 2 more picks this year and next years 1st? And NYG would probably need at least one more pick.
Does this sound about right? Thoughts?
Pick up an 1 and 3 hopefully!
The extra picks at least sets them up to address all the holes with premium picks.....would be very satisfying.

That would be an amazing trade for us. You get arguably the best player in the draft who you already considered taking at 2 and get extra picks.

Ignore the haters. Thanks for the information. I'm constantly amazed at how many people who provide nice tidbits like this get pummeled. Even if somebody is wrong, at least they're trying to help. It's a classic illustration of the old adage that "no good dead ever goes unpunished."
I do oppose trading down with the Bills, but won't hate it, because I assume we'd get a fortune in return.
Other than expecting them to get norwell, what else leads you to totally discredit pauline?

there's a difference between what Sy does and what Pauline does. Pauline says things are going to happen and then they don't happen. Sy scouts players and gives his opinion. Big difference.

Because he repeatedly reports things that end up not happening.

The more likely scenario. I'm sure DG is listening to offers, but I seriously doubt he moves off of 2.

I would assume Cleveland would stay put at 1, Bills would get the Giants #2 pick, Giants would get the Browns #4 pick. Cleveland would get Darnold, Buffalo would get Rosen and Jets would select Mayfield and the Giants would select Barkley.

Yes, Barkley, pick 22 and maybe pick 65 ( the first pick of round 3 ). I think NYG could target Mason Rudolph at 22 or in round 2.
The key for this to happen has to be for Cleveland to get pick 12 plus next years 1st rounder, and probably a 2nd and 3rd rounder. Otherwise why move back.
That's my concern.
Reminds me of going out to dinner with friends... splitting the check and ending paying more that I should have. for what I received.
I would be very wary of this.

Yes. The Browns moving to #12 is 600 points (Bills 2nd and a 3rd) and the Giants moving to #4 is 800 points (Bills #22=780 points).

Or Browns take Darnold, Bills take Allen, Jets take Mayfield, Giants take Rosen. It could actually go a few different ways that end up with the Giants getting Rosen, especially if you believe the rumors that he is falling. If Gettleman can pull of landing Rosen and a ton of picks as well, he should be up for canonization. On the other hand, if he is fooled into believing Rosen will be available at the four hole and he turns out to be wrong, well, he deserves to be put before a cannon.
Still hoping we end up with Rosen? I know I do, but I think everything I’ve seen here from our fellow connected in the community and through the media leads me to think we’re going to be disappointed Thursday night. I hope I’m wrong.

So we are not even getting the full “value” from the trade chart? Both Cleveland and the Giants should be asking for way more. I am an advocate for taking a QB at 2 so I admit to being biased, but I still think we are asking for trouble by passing on a QB.
I don't know, moving back 2 spots for pick 22 and 65 is a decent deal, especially if the Giants get their guy...which could be either Barkley, Chubb, Nelson or one of the QB's.
They may all be ranked very close to the same.

and the giants side is silent on all things draft related.
Or Barkley.
yes and its not even close

Why would the GM admit any deal has been made? Pauline also never said a deal was done just that framework had been agreed on should the teams wanna deal

If the Giants do take Barkley it'll be frustrating to hear the media talk about how they once again can't control their leaks and everyone knew it was coming. I figured the buzz has been speculation based on the "gold jacket" comments and people in the org saying they have him graded very highly (likely scouts). The former is ambiguous and the latter is true for 99% of the league I bet. Hearing hitdog say it just confirms that that's likely the case.

The rumor was confirmed on the day there might have been rumor before the day of the discussion of the rumor when they thought the week of the rumor might actually be someday before the rumor is endorsed without valid authorization of the rumor being released.

That all makes sense to me now.
