Following the release of Darius Powe, I was taking a gander through the current depth chart to see what we have in tank with regards to WRs as well as how the defensive personnel shifts would look under Bettcher's new defensive system.
Seeing that Avery Moss was now being listed as an outside linebacker under the new 3-4 look, I started digging a bit on his draft profile to see whether that was something he could excel at, if given the opportunity.
While researching, I unearthed the link to his selection last year and found some of the post-pick analysis to be particularly interesting.
Essentially, the analysts (Bucky Brooks & another) question the Giants as an ideal fit for Moss, because he was better suited to be an outside linebacker in a 3-4. Bucky goes on to talk OV and how he is a guy who's excelled in that system and would be perfect for Moss to learn alongside.
Needless to say, it got me excited that with a new DC and tweaked system, some of these existing talent pieces are going to fall into place and really be a strong unit.
