2018 NFL Mock Draft
1) Cleveland Browns: A lot of information coming out about who the Browns will take here at 1. The only name I haven’t heard linked to them recently is Josh Rosen. That leaves Allen, Mayfield & Darnold. When there is smoke there is fire and a lot of the top draft guys are pushing the Josh Allen narrative. I think the Browns take him.
2) **Projected Trade** A lot of things worked against the Giants in terms of the trade market. Within the top six the Colts weren’t going to draft a QB, The Jets are an unlikely trade partner, The Broncos got Keenum making QB not a desperate need & the browns had two of the top six picks including the only pick ahead of the Giants. It really put the giants in a spot where trading down just a few slots wasn’t an option. The Browns taking Allen first overall could really help the Giants though. The “Haul” they would require to move outside of the top 6-7 becomes a reality with Darnold unexpectedly not going 1st overall.
The Giants receive the 12th, 22nd, 56th, 96th & 2019 1st rd pick.
The Bills in return take Sam Darnold
3) New York Jets Baker Mayfield
4) Cleveland Browns: Saquon Barkley
5) Denver Broncos: Quentin Nelson
6) Indianapolis Colts: Bradley Chubb
7) Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Derwin James
8) Chicago Bears Tremain Edmunds
9) San Francisco 49ers Mikah Fitzpatrick
10) Oakland Raiders Deznel Ward
11) Miami Dolphins Josh Rosen
12) New York Giants: The Giants will be looking at a few different options with this pick. Roquan Smith, Mike Mcglinchey, Josh Jackson, & Marcus Davenport would fill needs and represent the best value at the 12 pick. After moving back from 2 to 12 I think the Giants would elminiate Davenport from their thought process with too much of a boom or bust factor with him. CB & OL are deep positions in this draft and Smith has DROY potential. He seems like the safe pick and is a good fit from a cultural shift for the Giants. Roquan Smith is the selection
13) Washington Redskins Vita Vea
14) Green Bay Packers: Harold Landry
15) Arizona Cardinals: Lamar Jackson
16) Baltimore Ravens: Calvin Ridley
17) Los Angelos Chargers: Mike McGlinchey
18) Seattle Seahawks: Marcus Davenport
19) Dallas Cowboys DJ Moore
20) Detroit Lions Daron Payne
21) Cincinnati Bengals: James Daniels
22) New York Giants: The Giants went defense with their first pick and are back on the clock with a wide array of options. Only 1 corner has come off the board, there are good options on the OL, DL & at RB with Derrius Guice. The biggest needs on the team are OL & CB and those are both represented well here. In this case I believe the Giants would jump on the opportunity to upgrade their offense line. They would select Isiah Wynn.
23) New England Patriots: Jaire Alexander
24) Carolina Panthers: Ronnie Harrison
25) Tennessee Titans Sam Hubbard
26) Atlanta Falcons: Taven Bryan
27) New Orleans Saints Hayden Hurst
28) Pittsburgh Steelers Leighton Vander Esch
29) Jacksonville Jaguars Willie Hernandez
30) Minnesota Vikings: Billy Price
31) New England Patriots: Kolton Miller
32) Philadelphia Eagles Derrius Guice
Rest of Giants Draft
34th Sony Michel RB
56th Frank Ragnow C
66th Kemoko Turay OLB/DE
69th Duke Dawson CB
108 PJ Hall DL
139 Tony Brown CB
In the end our draft haul is
LB Roquan Smith
OT/OG Isiah Wynn
RB Sony Michel
OC Frank Ragnow
DE/OLB Kemoko Turay
CB Duke Dawson
WR Anthony Miller
DL PJ Hall
CB Tony Brown
Future 1st rd Pick.
Our running game should be vastly improved with the selection of Wynn, Ragnow & Michel. Both OL should start on day 1. Miller gives us another threat in the passing game. Smith and Turay give us a day 1 start at the LB position and a special teams/pass rushing specialist.
Dawson & Brown give us competition in the DB room/special teams and Hall is a guy to groom as the future NT.
IF the giants arent going QB I dont see how anyone could prefer staying put and taking a RB at #2 over this potential haul.
I don't have a problem with trade but the pick selections not so much. Vita Vea would be a better option at 12 than Roquan based on the 3/4 hybrid we will be playing.
LOL JVM, it didn't occur to me about that but it's not entirely impossible. All 3 represent major upgrades for the team.
Vea would certainly be a potential choice at 12.
pretty good group of picks though.
Wynn will not be there for the 2nd round pick, but sub in a guy like James Daniels there and I have no complaints.
Who are you taking at #2? Darnold? If so, I have no problem with your feelings.
But if you're thinking Barkley I cant agree whatsoever.

He was the 22nd overall pick. Not a second rd pick!
Agree to disagree. Chubb/Darnold make sense to me to stay put and take.
But there is no RB in the NFL that isnt worth 2 first rd picks, a second rd pick and a third rd pick. They simply dont play long enough and arent cost effective.
Not to mention, gun to your head, barkley vs the field, i'm taking the field to produce at least 1 back who is more productive in his career then barkley.

I'd prefer the edge rusher, but have no problem with it if they pick SB over Chubb. Thrilled with blue chip talent plugged into either side of the ball.

Not a horrible bet, but in SB's case I'll gladly take him and skip the two red chips and lower rounds prospects.
Here's to the giants making the right call, whatever they decide.
Maybe Herschel Walker will be asked to announce the picks if you write the Giants a nice request letter.
Georgia must be the new Syracuse.....
Really interesting idea. Most of this was done with the idea that they're not interested in grabbing a QB this year.
But that would be great.
Are you sure about that? I have no clue what Cle does at 1
...interesting, well-thought out mock.
Don't be bummed out when the Giants stay at 2 and select Josh Rosen.
Left him out but in trade details we also got the 96th pick
1. Barkley
2. Price(Hernandez if Price is gone)
3a.Dylan Cantrell - bigger WR
3b Orlando Brown(a flyer on someone who drops)
4 Best CB (perhaps S) available
5 project OG
6 project DT
