Name your *11* picks (rounds 1-3) if NYG were to do this...

Knee of Theismann : 4/23/2018 9:58 pm
Not saying this is going to happen nor that it should happen, I just thought this would be fun to see what you guys would do with all these picks...

Trade back with the Browns at #4 and get their 3 2nd rounders (rumor has it Browns offered #33 and #35, Giants asked for 2019 first rounder and got turned down, but for fun let's say DG can convince them to throw in that 2018 #64 pick).

Trade from #4 back to #12 for Buffalo's #22 pick, 2 2nd rounders, and their top 3rd rounder. This would probably only happen if the Bills' QB is there, which there is a good chance of happening because in this situation the Browns are taking Barkley #2, so 2 of the "big 4" QBs are still there.

Picks in the first 3 rounds:

1 - #12
1 - #22
2 - #33
2 - #34
2 - #35
2 - #53
2 - #56
2 - #64
3 - #65
3 - #66
3 - #69

Honestly, if this happened I would probably find a way to use some of these picks to move from #12 to #7 and get Nelson, but the point of this was just to see how much we could completely rebuild this entire team in one draft.

Who would y'all take? Here's mine:

#12 - Minkah Fitzpatrick, S
#22 - Mike McGlinchey, OT
#33 - Josh Jackson, CB
#34 - Maurice Hurst, DT
#35 - Isaiah Wynn, OG
#53 - Cortland Sutton, WR
#56 - Rasheem Green, DE
#64 - Kemoko Turay, Edge
#65 - Ronald Jones II, RB
#66 - Frank Ragnow, C
#69 - Darius Leonard, OLB

Agreed, that would be one amazing haul. I don’t see them not taking someone at 2 though. I think it will be a QB.
I would try to move back up and get Nelson
George from PA : 4/23/2018 10:04 pm : link
And draft a QB to appeased that crowd.

But sign me up....

Undo 5 years of bad drafts...and replenish roster

holy shit talk about retooling
Very much doubt...
Nysportsfn13 : 4/23/2018 10:10 pm : link
That you will get Minkah at 12. If I thought we could I'd absolutely move to 12, or Roquan Smith.

Also, Wynn will be a 1st rounder..

But this would be a hell of a draft.
I think that for the Giants, the entire draft hinges on Barkley
rich in DC : 4/23/2018 10:12 pm : link
If the Browns pick Darnold, I think the Giants take Barkley.

If the Browns pick Barkley, I think the Giants trade out and take the picks.

i think the giants are 100% staying put and take whoever is avail between barkley and darnold. my guess is barkley.

I do think however trading
#2

for

#4
#33
#35
2018 3rd rounder

is a GREAT deal for giants....
browns take

darnold/barkley 1-2
or allen/barkley

longshot
Allen/Darnold + chubb 1-2

We take rosen or darnold or i suppose barkley at 4, if all three are gone and we dont like allen, take chubb or nelson.
having the first three picks on day two is AMAZING imo

lets say we move back to 4 and land rosen(very possible)

33-hernandez/wynn/price
34-arden key/d. jackson/oliver
35-michel

thats three serious pieces added to the puzzle in addition to THREE 3rd rounders.

4-Rosen
33-sony michel
34-hernandez
35-D jackson
Browns 3rd-L Carter
66-nwosu
69-DJ Chark

thats a GREAT haul rounds 1-3.

two good LBers who can rush the passer.
A solid corner who can play inside
a good RB
a bull of a OG
a big bodied WR with good speed
and of course the QB of the future

My mock would greatly strengthen the OL and D
The D would feature a base 3-4 of
OLB - Vernon, Davenport, Martin, Moss
ILB - Ogletree, Goodson, Leonard
DE - Vea, Tomlinson, Mauro, Okwara
DT - Snacks, Tomlinson

OL
LT Solder/Christian
LG Smith/Jones
C Ragnow/Jones

One thing I thought of was trading that #56 pick to move up 5 spots.
Knee of Theismann : 4/23/2018 10:49 pm : link
Value Trade chart says it is possible. In that case I would go:

#07 - Quenton Nelson, OG
#22 - Mike McGlinchey, OT
#33 - Josh Jackson, CB
#34 - Maurice Hurst, DT
#35 - Billy Price, C
#53 - Cortland Sutton, WR
#56 - (Traded to TB for #7 pick)
#64 - Kemoko Turay, Edge
#65 - Ronald Jones II, RB
#66 - Rasheem Green, DE
#69 - Darius Leonard, OLB

Offense: Imagine teaming Nelson with McGlinchey like they were in college(haha, switched from left side to right side, though). Price is starting center week 1, with Solder and Omameh on the left side. That's an o-line I can get behind (haha, get it?) Add a home-run threat in Jones II and big bully possession WR in Sutton and watch this offense go.

Defense: Meanwhile, with Hurst, Turay, Green, and Leonard added to our front 7, I guarantee you pressure on the opposing QB will look A LOT better. And Josh Jackson meanwhile could be a shut down corner.
I'll play

Unfortunately, you can't cluster this many 1st/2nd/3rd roundraft picks
stoneman : 4/24/2018 7:51 am : link
together as all of their rookie contracts end at the same time and you are in cap hell in 2-3 years. You would need to spread these out abit.

That's assuming you hit on most of them which would be a great problem to have
It is going to be very disappointing if they stay at 2
stoneman : 4/24/2018 8:02 am : link
Even getting QB or Barkley, I will still be disappointed at the possibilities of 2 or 4 extra picks. A QB pick would at least bring closure to the Eli era and I could live with, but not an RB or single DE.

I kinda agree... would be very exciting to amass several premium picks. But the book move is QB at #2 all day long!

Just to play devil's advocate

If they are going to move around that much, why not go "all the way" and deal the #12 pick (and Flowers) to the Patriots, so they can draft Lamar Jackson (there is a rumor that Bill likes Jackson).

Probably can get the #23 and both 2nd rounders (#43 and #63) for the #12 and Flowers. Adding in Flowers would not only be addition by subtraction, but also have real value for the Pats, who are short on OTs right now.

I actually think Fitz could be there. Derwin James could be the first Safety off the board. If 4 QBs taken in the first 11 picks, there is a chance that Barkley, Nelson, Chubb, Edmunds, Vea, Smith, and James are the other 7 picks, leaving NYG to take Fitz at #12.

Also, I think one of Wynn, Hernandez, or Williams falls out of the first round, and I'm taking whichever one does at the top of the 2nd round.
With that many picks you can go many ways...
Amtoft : 4/24/2018 1:29 pm : link
1 - #12 - OT Mike McGlinchey
1 - #22 - OG Will Hernandez
2 - #33 - C Billy Price
2 - #34 - RB Nick Chubb
2 - #35 - DT Maurice Hurst
2 - #53 - CB Isaiah Oliver
2 - #56 - LB Malik Jefferson
2 - #64 - WR James Washington
3 - #65 - FS Jessie Bates
3 - #66 - OT Chukwuma Okorafor
3 - #69 - LB Josey Jewell

Yes 4 OL in the first 3 rounds. McGlinchey probably won't be there at 12 but he is really the only LT I want in this draft and I can't pass up a good LT. Will Hernandez could start day one at RG IMO. Price I think would win the starting C job or at least give us a feisty backup that can play OG also. Chukwuma is a perfect RT but needs more experience. Throw in Hurst who is lightning off the line as a 3-4 DE and I went 4 Lineman in with my first 3 picks. People like Michel better, but not me. Chubb is a stud and was starting over Michel for a reason. A good CB and two good LBs to help our defense. I added James Washington but no way he makes it this far. He did in the BBI draft though so screw it. I also took Jessie Bates who I think will be a stud nickel Safety.

If the Giants traded for the Pats picks above, it could be:

1 - #22
1 - #23
2 - #33
2 - #34
2 - #35
2 - #43
2 - #53
2 - #56
2 - #63
2 - #64
3 - #65
3 - #66
3 - #69

Control both the top and bottom of the 2nd round.
I think the point of this thread is clear:
Knee of Theismann : 4/24/2018 1:51 pm : link
With so many potential franchise QBs (4 of which could go in the top 5!) , QB has such high positional value, so many QB needy teams with many premium picks behind us.... having the #2 pick could allow us to move 2-3 times and get a huge haul of picks. If we really believe Eli has it in him to make one more SB run, WHY NOT take full advantage of this draft and our draft position to build this roster for both the present and future??
