but its a trailer so i remain skeptical. Not sure i love the black tentacles just shooting out of him the whole time. DIdnt mind the venom transformation, not great, but not horrible. Venom looked solid for the second we saw him.
There was a rumor awhile back that spider man would show up somehow, but just kind of mentioned in passing. Not sure i believe it though since that means that this movie takes place in the same world as the MCU which opens up all types of confusion and questions. Too bad Sony wont just let Marvel make all the movies for them. Lets just hope Sony doesnt do normal Sony spider man stuff and try to stuff in like 3 villains and references to 5 more.
going to be a cameo/surprise in the movie? They are already changing the whole Venom origin story so they are probably setting up a Spiderman vs. Venom sequel.
That’s why I can’t see this being very good. I’m huge Tom Hardy fan and loved Venom as a kid, but the character just doesn’t work on the big screen. The CGI is going to look terrible.
RE: RE: Everything in the movie trailer looked cool Â

In Hardy we trust.

Huge Venom fan but his backstory and origin would be extremely hard to transfer to live action TV or the movies. I'm just hoping for a decent backstory and how they found\made the symbiote.

That’s exactly why it should have been left alone. I just won’t see it, so it’s no big deal, but I hate seeing actors I like take these roles when they could be making better movies.
How can you have a Venom movie without Spider-man? Â
Maximum Carnage storyline would be awesome and you really don't need Spiderman (Spidey would add to the story but not necessary) for that storyline to work on the big screen, which I'm sure is the direction Sony wants to go down.
Would fit in line with the R-rated anti-hero movies coming out recently like Deadpool.
Absolutely.

Except the last scene where Tom turns to Venom.

There is a real patent leather look to it. Like its a stretchy Matrix overcoat.

And changing the whole backstory is weak.
