with the podcast featuring Davis Webb's trainer was interesting to me. I just can't write off Webb as a serious pro QB prospect - franchise-type QB talent. Love to hear how hard he works and how diligent he is. I'm really rooting for him.
I'll be behind the Giants all the way, and if they decide to pick Saquon or another position player, as much as half of BBI would like to feel differently, I think their opinion of Webb might be what sways them to do so.
Unless we want Darnold or Rosen REALLY BAD

Good news, and just another sign that Odell is a positive part of this team, not some guy who is a problem.
I think Davis Webb should be given every opportunity to succeed here..
First off, the guy seems like a tireless worker, is the son of a coach, and has done nothing but follow Eli around and learn from him going on a year now.
Second, he has physical talent. He's not some 5th-7th round pick/UDFA. He's played against some top competition, and a 3rd round pick is not exactly nothing in terms of an investment.
It would have been nice to see him play last year, and the fact that he didnt was an organizational failure. However, he got sucked into some pretty deep, pretty awkward moments in the media having to answer all of the typical Eli questions when that disaster happened and he said and did all the right things.
I'm rooting for Webb to show Shurmur what he needs to see as far as raw, workable talent that can be molded over the next year. Having some level of confidence that a viable post-Eli option is already on the team would really spring this roster forward by allowing them to focus on Barkley/Chubb/Nelson and building the rest of the roster out from there.
It s two days before a draft they have spent hundreds of hours preparing for. Do you think it s reasonable to expect that a three day mini camp where Webb throws maybe 25 times is going to change their board
Gettlemen as much as said this mini camp would have no impact on the draft.

not sure what he could be thinking. Reese and Ross were adamant that there were no character concerns with him. This is also a guy that was the only o-lineman that would't attend oline dinners/gatherings/Christmas gift exchange, etc.
he isnt going anywhere. He is under contract. The Giants arent trading him.. enough already.. why not ask some questions about his offensive schemes... how will he work with Mike Shula.. Run concepts.. etc etc..

is a sulky sourpuss. as much as beckham jr and Collins were terrific picks, flowers has been a complete waste of space, which is sad because he takes up a LOT of space.
I was holding out hope that his absences during the first off-season event a few weeks ago was excused but it's becoming apparent that Flowers is not only making bad decisions on the field but off of it now as well. Oh well...
If we go into the season with Flowers (and to a lesser extend Apple) on the roster. A regime change wants a clean slate and Flowers and Apple bring a lot of baggage from last year and not in a good way. Maybe they both really do have a clean slate and will be on board, but... I kind of doubt it. I guess we'll know come September.

let's see what the draft brings, but we knew going into this offseason, if you acknowledged it honestly, it could take more than one offseason to build a contender.
and some failure already!
Fire Shurmur!
Trade everybody!!.Start with OBJ and Snacks, Jackrabbit and Collins too. Gotta get back the Shockey 2nd we somehow lost.
Nothing Davis Webb does or doesn't do these three days SHOULD impact our draft at all.
Can you imagine Gettleman justifying passing on a QB who they had rated as a true franchise QB because "well, Davis looked great at the voluntary no-contact mini-cam in April!"
If he thinks that way, we're in deep trouble. (And I don't think he thinks that way).
The real question is does he see a true franchise QB there or not. They can't afford to blow this pick.

That aint what they wanted to see.
Dep - how do you know?
I am sure they are looking at things beyond the pure stats.....
Well, let's let the coach answer that.
Quote:
We want it to look like football and Im not trying to make a joke there, Shurmur said before the workout. We want to get the ball snapped, we want to get guys lined up properly. The progressions were giving them, we want to see them go through the progression, throw the ball accurately. Things break down, use their legs and generally make good decisions, throw the ball on time and be accurate.
It didnt take long for Webb to botch even the first part of that. He and center Ethan Cooper fumbled one of their very first snaps.
