it is tough because previously I would have said something else. But, I have changed my mind some:
Barkley at 2 is just wrong. With the make up of our team he will not have the effect many people think. Our Oline still needs help and we still lack quality depth on defense at many positions. Plus, there are a lot of running backs that can be more than quality players and as such it is a waste to go after Barkley here.
there's something to be said for gathering home run hitting field tilters like Beckham and Barkley. If you wanna go for it one more time, no better player to go after than Barkley.

and I'm flabbergasted by those who say Rosen. The guy is a stud.
Not mobile, unable to stay healthy, questionable desire to be an NFL QB. Much of the talent around him busted and, unlike what Eli Manning had, they were well regarded out of High School. Eli Manning did more in college with less heralded talent around him. I just do not see a winning NFL QB.
happy with whoever we get at #2. Our coaches and GM have way more information than we have. That being said out of the 4 QBs, Barkley, Chubb, and Nelson... the player I like the least is Darnold. Slower release, inexperienced, turnovers, etc. I just think he has the lowest ceiling of all the QBs. He doesn't have the highest floor either.
To me I would rank it as the following...
Nelson - probowl starting RG which we don't have day one
Barkley - stud RB that can do it all to help this offense
Josh Rosen - best QB of the bunch by far despite his concerns
Bradley Chubb - Would replace Vernon as soon as next year. Pass rushers are expensive and he is good
Josh Allen - The highest ceiling along with Rosen. His floor is much lower though. He reminds me of Brett Favre honestly.
Brad Mayfield - accurate strong arm... If you like Mahomes you should like Mayfield slightly better because that is what he is... A slightly better Mahomes.
Sam Darnold - Went into why he is my lowest of our possibles.
considering Baker Mayfield. I'm very strongly anti-Mayfield and wouldn't want him in any round. I think Allen can be a good selection, just not at #2 with the players who will probably be available.
how few picked Mayfield so far (who I like a ton) is that because people like him more than most or just because they don't think he's even on the radar?

The bold is absurd unless he slept with your sister.

For me he is middle of the pack. The height is an issue, but I think with the right coaching staff he can succeed. Case Keenum is not a big QB and came from a run and shoot offense in college and look how Shurmur did with him. Given that we can have Mayfield sit for a year and learn NFL defenses I also have less concern about his transition. That being said, if we ever move on from Shurmur before Mayfield can mature we could end up with round peg and square hole.

Josh Allen as well. Both I am not confident will succeed in NFL.
Allen
Chubb
Rosen
Barkley
Darnold
