In an absurd move, Walker is playing 1B today ad Austin is on the bench. Keep in mind that Austin will start serving his sentence soon so it makes no sense to get him out of the lineup when he's hitting.
On another note, Boone said Romine will catch tomorrow with Gray on the mound. Not sure if it's a permanent switch to Romine catching Gray.
Yankees Lineup
Gardner LF
Judge RF
Didi SS
Stanton DH
Sanchez C
Hicks CF
Walker 1B
Andujar 3B
Torres 2B
Sabathia P
RHB hitting less than .100 against him. He also homered off an OF yesterday so we should chillax a bit on Austin. That said, Neil better start hitting or he should be gone soon.
I get that we didn't start as hot as the Sox but this team is so exciting to follow. Andujar is hitting like this and he isn't even the most anticipated call up this year (Torres) AND even IF he puts up the 30 HR 100 RBI season that people are starting to anticipate he still is probably the 3rd most valuable home grown batter 25 or under on this team. All this while having extra-base hits in seven consecutive games before turning 24 only joined by Mantle and DiMaggio.
The Bronx Bombers indeed.
Berrios is a very tough pitcher on righties. BTW, Walker is a pretty decent player. Not everyone can be an All Star.
I am sorry but he is brutal to watch.

Has struck out twice in 6 pitches. Needs to slow his approach

He went 4-4 with a 435 foot HR last night.
I respect we’re all fans here (I think) who have a right to our opinions, but some of you guys can be pretty absurd sometimes.
His bad at bats are bad. Can't say any are any worse than the others. He has a very weird looking swing.
Oh that AB was lousy, no doubt, but overall he’s looked pretty good the last week or so.

I enjoy watching him, just that AB with the pitcher on the ropes and only 1 out with Gary heating up behind you....horrendous AB.

Oh stop it. Some Yankees fans need someone to hate and boo. It’s apparently a right of passage. I’m not talking about UCONN, he’s a good fan, but the booing at the stadium is downright embarrassing. I swear most of the fans that boo are the same senile shit stains that call into radio shows like Francesa. I mean, what exactly are they accomplishing by booing? Besides making themselves look like the idiots they are? You think a player will “try harder”? I just don’t get it I guess...

Your response is as brutal as his swing. He has been a Yank a couple of months, some of us have been fans for decades. Regardless of his output, which has been ok, his approach is jarring. He is like leading the MLB in strickouts.
It’s a nitpick, admittedly.

Not sure if you’re replying to my post intentionally, but I couldn’t agree more - I’ve never booed one of our guys at the stadium, I agree it’s embarrassing that it happens.
That’s why I commented on the previous post tonight - Stanton had one of his best games as a Yankee last night, but after a couple bad ABs tonight some people break out the pitchforks for him all over again.

Been a fan for decades myself, which includes seeing a lot of Stanton before this season too. He’s off to an up and down start, but some of you don’t hesitate to whine and boo after every bad AB
Be patient. He'll have many prime ABs this season.

Agreed, I don't think you will find many of those type of fans on this board. But I have no problem with making critique observations among the guys.

Fair enough, as I said we’re all fans who have every right to our opinions. Not arguing he hasn’t looked bad often so far - sometimes seems like he’s squeezing the sawdust out of the bat, trying so hard to succeed.
I just bristle when people jump all over a guy before giving him a chance, that’s how I took your first post. IMO his track record speaks for itself, he should get going soon, we hope!
Didi can not be stopped. What a stud
Funny MLB briefly switched to a No-hitter game and on the first pitch Freeman of the Braves hit a HR...total jinx job.
Great job tonight. Tough 1st inning and cruised after.
