Benjamin Albright is a guy who I have a lot of confidence in. He's usually spot on, and has a ton of info.
If no one follows him on Twitter, he's definitely worth your time.
He's been all on Darnold to Cleveland at #1.
Today, he posted this;
"Some of you saw me delete a tweet. If you caught that tweet, good for you.
No further comment on it."
The deleted Tweet was that the Browns will take Darnold.
Then, Schefter Tweeted this shortly thereafter:
Here’s what Browns’ writer @NathanZegura projects on teams’ website for No. 1 pick:
“QB Sam Darnold - All along I have believed it would come down to Darnold or Baker Mayfield. I do think Mayfield was given incredibly strong consideration, but...Darnold too promising to pass.”
Looks like the dream of Darnold at #2 is dead.

I'm sure he also knows Cleveland going with Darnold as the most likely scenario all along as wel,l and has planned accordingly.
If he could just get away from his mom...

You can’t a risk a number 2 pick on Lamar Jackson. Just way too many questions on him to risk that high a pick on a guy.
Gettleman said he wouldn't trade up in his pre-draft presser.

Trade down!
2) Draft Darnold, so a) Barkley is available for the Giants to draft, b) the availability / temptation to take Darnold is gone and c) the Giants can entertain "King's Ransom" trade offers for the other QBs.
3) Draft Barkley AND trade for the 2nd overall pick, giving the Giants at least the 4th in the first round, the 1st in the second round (33rd overall) and 3rd in the second round (35th overall), so the Giants can entertain "King's Ransom" trade offers for the other, better QBs. The Giants can draft multiple offensive lineman in the first 3 picks and still grab a RB, CB or edge rusher.

Mike Lombardi had him as the third best offensive player in the draft and best quarterback.

I think trading down to 12 to take Jackson is a better option than picking any of the other guys at 2.
Well, at least you're consistent. Either you will be right, or you will go down in flames.
I guess we will see on Thursday. This place is as divided as I've ever seen it.

might drop to BUF
so what are you thinking
browns - darnold
giants - rosen
jets - mayfeild
browns - chubb
broncos - nelson
colts - james
bucs - barkley
bears - roquan
49ers - fitzpatrick
raiders - mcglinchey
dolphins - vea
bills - allen
Along those lines....
Sy: I saw earlier you mocked Barkley to the Giants. Do you think they will or may go Rosen with the pick, hence this comment? I know it's just a guess, just a question.
We agree! First time in days!

I would love to take Barkley at 3.
What about pairing him with Sony Michel? Or the lightning quick kid from USC? Completely realistic scenarios.
Instead, this will lead to Jints Central running to the podium to select Barkley.
And then there will two distinct sounds - the naive BBI class popping champagne thinking this is actually a worthwhile decision and the informed BBI class breaking plastic remotes in complete disgust of a critical opportunity discarded for a position that grows on trees.

That is tremendously arrogant and condescending thing to say. It must be terribly heavy burden to shoulder all that wisdom and certainty. All class there.

No reason and unlikely a Jets/Giants trade like that happens. Giants arent moving back, they'll stay put and take Barkley. Jets can still have their pick of Mayfield or Rosen at 3.
...Josh Rosen #2 to the Giants.
It has been like that for months; it will end up that way tomorrow night.
Oh, and Baker Mayfield #3 to the Jets.

Let’s hope so

Posts like this make it really difficult not to want the Giants to draft Barkley just to see heads explode.
I think that's DG's gameplan as we approach draft day. Ideally Barkley/Chubb with a drop to 4 or 5. Probably entertains trades down further too but barring a blockbuster, we're landing on one of those guys at either 2 or after a small drop back.

Position that grows on trees you say??? LMFAO. Guess Jerry Reese couldn't find those trees the past several seasons.

I doubt that he'll trade up, but for the sake of accuracy, what he said was that he would not use future years' picks to trade up.
