From Graham Barfield's Twitter account:
Last season, 94% of all pass attempts in the NFL traveled between 0-19 yards downfield.
2017 CFB completion percentage on passes thrown between 0-19 downfield:
Mayfield - 77.3%
Darnold - 72.8%
Rosen - 68.8%
Jackson - 67.5%
Allen - 63.8%

I am of the school of thought that accuracy and leadership are the two most important traits in a QB because neither can be taught or coached. Either QB's have those skills, or they don't.
With that in mind, I guess my question would be is Mayfield not getting enough credit, and could he be a dark horse selection at #2?
Certainly a chance he goes at 2 but its unlikely to be the Giants. Absolutely nobody has connected us to him, there's been nothing. He's my choice but I've basically written him off myself.
Gettleman seems as if he's not tipping his hand at all. I wonder if he's got something up his sleeve.
Uhh - no. LJax in the 2nd round is closer.
Is this a joke? He's over 77%.

Yes, you are correct. If the Giants trade out there is a chance.
Well, in the NFL you cabt really hit guys in the numbers.
Look at the Manningham play, if Eli throws the ball to his numbers what happens?
To vomplete passes in NFL, the real ones that win games you have to hit players where only your guy can catch them.
Thats about timing & anticipation and decision making
The spread offense is designed to get guys wide open with as little of those traits as possible.

I'm surprised Mayfield's % is so low. ;)
