Also would the Giants be able to trade up to the top half of round 2 with one of their thirds and Flowers? The target I would like is pick 31 with the Patriots, but who wins a trade with Little Bill?
maybe if the Giants end up trading with the Bills Â
He is probably as good a backup as you can get. He is under contract and needs to have a good year to get a new contract. Unless, of course, he is done with football. No chance they get anything worth while in a trade unless someone sees something in him the Giants dont. Ross Tucker has been hating on him since they drafted him. I say keep him around one more year.
but he really should be here this week. It's a bad look at minimum, at a colossal blunder on his part to miss out on the chance to see the new offense sooner and start working with the new staff. So much for his "clean slate" now.
DONT even think his wife is interested in him at this point.
Kidding aside. I still think hes a young guy with some takent at a good price. Just not a left tackle.
shouldnt trade flowers until after the draft if they trade him at all.
They currently have 1 OL that any honest poster could feel confident in. I dont want to hear about Ohmome. 99% of posters didnt know who he was until we signed him.
See what happens in the draft first. If they get a good enough OL haul you can entertain trading him.
Sorry, but a sixth rd pick isnt helping this team. Keep him until you have suitable replacements.
him at RG. At this point, he is not a LT and probably not a RT. Put him inside where at least he can use his strength without worrying about speed rushers.
only if the price is a 6th or 7th. Maybe 5th max but doubtful. The league is full of coaches who are confident enough to take any struggling project and make them a serviceable player. Flowers has the size and strength you want in a tackle. He just happens to be missing everything else.
who would want a guy who obviously does not like competing for his job, who doesn't like to be criticized especially by the coaching staff. Giants had two excellent offensive line coaches with Flowers...neither could do anything with him.
Because the Giants signed Solder, his actions indicate he doesn't want to move to RT or compete for another position.
There is no way I would want this guy on my roster. He wants everything handed to him...he does not want to work for it.
I say unless we get a great offer let him sit. We don't have to pay him and we don't have him around the locker room. Then he is gone next year. No loss.
The guy's been dreadful. The craziest thing is he's even a bad run blocker. Falls off blocks, leans, no balance to use his strength. Plays like he's got a load of sh#t in his pants.
And he's got a bad attitude.
Anyone who trades for this guy is an idiot. We'll see.
I thought he was horrendous the last 2 years, but I would not be selling low on this guy. Why not try him out at RG or RT? The Giants have very little talent on that line currently...I'm worried it might be worse than last year.
We had two free agents from the O-line who most of BBI valued at about 3 plugged nickels. They got major hauls with big contracts. Now this is obviously not free agency but it is obvious its hard to estimate the market value of these o-lineman to other teams.
He is still a physical specimen. He has pro experience and pro strength.
Every coach thinks they can fix a player.
On top of that think of the absolute dearth of OL talent in the NFL, witness John Jerry still on a roster.
If I'm a GM, I'd spend a 4th rd pick to get Flowers than a rookie that has less than a 25% chance of making any impact at all.
Giants will get a 4th or higher.
Not sure about higher, but I'm with you on the 4th. One year left on the contract and more (misused/unused) talent than anyone you could draft at that spot.

I agree with this. Something like a 4th that becomes a 3rd if he meets certain expectations. That our he's part of a package trade
Don't discount the McAdoo Aspect in play here. An in-over-his-head stubborn coach completely out-of-touch with the team throwing a rookie to the wolves with an anemic offensive scheme and horrid playcalling = McAdoo Aspect. That will be taken into account by other teams

They also have the no BS culture that he will either have to conform to or risk being labeled a two-time malcontent.
Doesn't mean the Dolphins will want him.
LOL. I don’t know, he’d probably pack raw meat in the bag with the fruit and vegetables.
We've been surprised on more than one occasion by the value some players have brought in return.

Seattle has an extra 5th
fresh one around at all times but I usually just stick to getting them for her on certain special days.
