While we all know we will see trades, I will leave that out of this.
1 CLE Sam Darnold
*** 2 NYG Josh Rosen *** Cocky? Yes. But he is a highly intelligent and skilled QB that will be ready from the outset (not that this is a prerequisite for NYG). Good NFL arm with elite accuracy/mechanics.
3 NYJ Baker Mayfield
4 CLE Saquon Barkley
5 DEN Josh Allen
6 Indi (likely to trade down) but will say Bradley Chubb
7 TB Minkah Fitzpatrick
8 CHI Quenton Nelson
9 SF Derwin James
10 Oak Vita Vea
11 Miami Denzel Ward
12 Buff Mike McGlinchey
13 Wash Terrelle Edmunds
14 GB Roquan Smith
15 AZ Calvin Ridley
16 Balt Marcus Davenport
17 LAC Daron Payne
18 Sea Josh Jackson
19 Dallas Leighton Vander Esch
20 Det Taven Bryan
21 Cincy Lamar Jackson
22 Buff Mason Rudolph
23 NE Frank Ragnow
24 Car Rashaan Evans
25 Tenn Isiah Oliver
26 Atl Will Hernandez
27 NO Dallas Goedert
28 Pitt James Daniels
29 Jax DJ Moore
30 Minny Isiah Wynn
31 NE Jaire Alexander
32 Philly Cortland Sutton
NYG remaining picks:
Rd 2 OG Austin Corbett 6'4" 305, Nevada - smart/polished/versatile OL that can step in day 1. Comparison: Joel Bitonio.
Rd 3 OT Geron Christian 6'6" 297, Louisville - with Flowers thankfully on the move, Christian is a swing tackle that has both good experience at both OT spots and considerable remaining upside
Rd 3a LB Josey Jewell 6'2" 230, Iowa - Big 10 DEF PLayer of the year, highly productive and smart, good short area quickness, will start Day 1
Rd 4 RB Kalen Ballage 6'2" 230, Arizona State, ran behind a terrible OL that in effect, hid his vast talent. He is as physically talented as any RB other than Saquon. Tremendous receiving skills and speed to burn. This is a gamble, but one I'd be in favor of.
Rd 5 CB (slot) Avonte Maddox - top qualities include character, toughness, leadership...but also high end speed and quickness. Only 5'10" and 185 but tackles exceptionally well.
Trade: Ereck Flowers to Buffalo for a late pick, call it a 7th.
Rd 7: John Franklin-Myers - 6'4" 287, Stephen F Austin - big (3-4) DE with tremendous upper body strength and fluid athleticism. A bit off the radar but a good late round flyer.
UDFA targets: WR Justin Watson, DE Joe Ostman, DE Hercules Mata'afa, CB/S Kameron Kelly, C Brian Allen
what's ironic is that the sick feeling is the better option.
The Giants just don't seem sold on any of these QB's, I hope I am wrong and this Happens, the Jets take Mayfield and the Giants shock us and take Rosen, but I think they want Chubb at 4. If they really don't believe in any of these guys and they have some hope for Webb, then this makes sense, build the defense, build the offensive line, they will add a running back for certain, and give Eli a couple more kicks at the can, as Vigneult used to say.
If he gets a good offer including two 1st round picks, he should take it. Otherwise Barkley.
GREAT LOGIC....Whether you know it or not, you are suggesting that the Giants select a player who will not overachieve and earn a Gold Jacket because that player would be too expensive to sign to a long term contract. Is your name Jerry Reese or Marc Ross?
2 NYG Josh Rosen
3 NYJ Baker Mayfield
4 BUF Josh Allen
5 DEN Bradley Chubb
6 Indi Quenton Nelson
7 TB Minkah Fitzpatrick
8 CHI Roquan Smith
9 SF Tremaine Edmunds
10 Oak Marcus Davenport
Not going to guess past 10. Cleveland trades the #4 and Buffalo jumps Denver. Cleveland gets 12 & 22 and a 2019 first & 3rd.
Quote:
best pure QB in the draft. SB would be a very short sited move and a massive waste of draft capital. Can you imagine if he really is great and somehow manages to get to his 2nd contract with the Giants? His asking price as the 2nd pick overall would be astronomical! He'd make close to QB money. Go QB or trade down

Absolutely wrong. You don't sign RBs whom as a position don't help win SBs to 18 mill dollar contracts. If he even lasts that long in his career. Lucky to have a great RB more than 3-4 yrs. Might as well have the kicker earn a gold jacket, it makes as much difference to a team's long term success as a hof RB.
