From Up to the Minute Live: The #Browns are having conversations about trading the No. 4 pick tomorrow... and it could get them a first-rounder for 2019.

Why does it seem we are the only team who doesn’t see franchise QB in this group? Teams are dealing draft picks for the opportunity to draft the guys who fall, yet none meet NYG standards? DG is either the smartest guy in the room, or the dumbest.

Right? It's pretty funny.
Any deal trading down from 4 should also be available to the Giants at Â

I think you are jumping to conclusions
More like playing along with what’s being reported. I’ve theorized they’re targeting a QB, but honestly who knows.

I think Mara and Gettleman are way too smart to not take a QB with this pick. Not only that, Get to see that QB blossom with the Jets. While we're scrambling when Eli is done
just because all these teams seem to be trying to move up for qb doesn't mean qbs are special.....u all remember matt lienhart....jamarcus russel....tim coutch...rg3...sanchez......after they were all picked....their gms were gushing about them.....these qbs are all crap shoots...N O B O D Y K N O W S
Beane might go to 4 and see if we'd take a cut price bargain deal for 2. Which Gettleman might as it's essentially getting the same player you'd get at 2 for $2.1 million less over the contract. It's a small saving about $350,000 a season but hey if you get that and say a 2nd you'd probably take it.

and you can point to top picks at every position that have busted. What's your point?

It has been nearly fifty years since the Dolphins have won a super bowl and the Bills may be the biggest losers in the history of pro sports... I am guessing they are in the "dumbest guys" camp and Gettleman is in the "smartest guys" camp...

It's not so much that they're dumb, they've all been in QB hell so long they're simply desperate so they convince themselves. Note Denver seem pretty non-plussed about the QB's despite having an up and down Case Keenum on a two year rental.

The point is don't get bent out of shape either way tomorrow. You will have plenty of time in the future to make a much more educated judgment on whether DG is smart or dumb.
THE POINT IS....THEY ARE MOVING UP FOR QBS....NOT OTHER POSITIONS...JUST BECAUSE THESE TEAMS WANT TO MOVE UP FOR QB....THAT DOESNT DEFINE THAT THEY ARE ANY GOOD...THATS MY POINT...THEY COULD ALL BE AARON ROGERS...OR THEY COULD BE MATT LEINHARTS......

Maybe its because we already have a franchise QB and that the next franchise QB may already be in the building. Maybe its because Gettleman doesn't want to pay $20 million guaranteed for a guy to hold a clipboard until Eli retires.

First, you don't know they don't see one. Quite possible they do and aren't tipping hand
Second, Jets has McCown, Bills has McCarron, Miami has Tannehill, Browns have Taylor.AZ has -0-. This QB class looks like '83 revisited, comparatively. Denver is hoping their guy is there @5, whether 2 or 3 qbs go before them, or not.

You are right, I don't know. I am on the record stating I suspect they may be in on QB all along, however this comment here is in response to what nearly every beat writer is reporting and has been stating for a while.

Why do you trust the Jets, Dolphins and Bills front offices? They are constantly drafting in the top 10-15.
The Giants and Denver are dealing from a position of strength.
They have made it known they are happy with their current QB.
They could still pick a QB but don't seem needy.
It's a strong play.

Two things I want to see happen just to piss off the over-opinionated Â

1) I never said I trusted them or didn't trust them. I actually proposed two possibilities. 2) have you seen our drafts? Flowers/Apple as top 10 picks? Different GM, sure, but let's not make it out like our team is running a streak of good decisions 3) how do you know what teams are in conversations? Could be those, could be others too. 4) It is not just the teams and scouts involved. Teams subscribe to scouting services also, so any team, no matter how bad, has access to that same info.

Could be these teams haven’t had a franchise qb in decades and are desperate. Give a starving man a cracker and it’s the best cracker he’s ever tasted

Could be, yes. But as a team with an aging starting QB, might their situations represent a cautionary illustration for the downside of not pulling the trigger on a franchise QB when given the chance?

If Rosen, Darnold, or Mayfield fall to #5 Elway will sprint to the podium.

Maybe these teams are seeing them through the rose colored glasses of needing a QB?
Maybe DG and the Giants are looking a bit more clearly and objectively because they have a QB for at least the next two years.
I'm not saying DG shouldn't be preparing for down the road, only he might not feel as strong a need to go QB or risk a high pick like these other QB needy teams are.
RE: RE: Two things I want to see happen just to piss off the over-opinionated Â
Why aren't teams falling over themselves to trade up for him? Because its stupid to take him at 1 or 2
I don’t really care whether they take Barkley or not. But I also don’t regurgitate fan/media made theories up from the Twittersphere and try to pass them off as fact.

If Cleveland is trading out....then Just trade with Denver....as QBs will go 1-2-3-4
Right? It's pretty funny.

Really scary
Yup. That's what I see happening. Or Barkley.
The Bills don't need to get to #2. Or maybe the Giants already rejected their offer.

Had a franchise QB
1. The Giants to draft Barkley
2. Eli Manning to have a career year in Shurmurs offense
If even one of these happens, so much crow will be served to the "emphatic absoluters" and it will be glorious.

I get the sense that there is more interest in settling scores right now than the actual game.

there is a big difference between having an opinion, and trying to pass off your opinion as an absolute when you have nothing factual to back it up.

I know...sad isn't it
instead of just hoping the best outcome no matter who's drafted for the better for the ny giants...after all, who wants to live last year ever again?
