And "blue chip" names Nelson, Chubb, all four qbs, Barkley, Fitzpatrick and Edmunds are all gone, who is your favorite pick?
Vita Vea- might be the sleeper for most effective player to be drafted and our transition to 3-4 concepts give us a MONSTER D line of Vea/Snacks/Tomlinson for years.
Marcus Davenport- like, but dont love him for 3-4 stuff. Could prob add mass....would love this guy for a straightt 4-3 end
Mike McGlinchey- guy screams reach to me. But has prototype size and comes from a good O line system and we have a need. Hes a LT....
Derwin James- probably the only guy that rivals Vea to me as far as a fringe blue chipper. Centerfielder...would augment Collins at safety.
The prospect of moving down to this spot was originally not sexy at all, but there are some guys on this list that could be getting slighted because of Chubb, Fitz, Nelson and Barkley and the idea of getting the Bills' first next year is a deal sealer for me.
Please feel free to post who you would select with the second 1st.
Please feel
12 + 22 + next years 1...pretty much a no brainer.
McGlinchey would play RT.
XJosh Rosen
XSam Darnold
XBaker Mayfield
XJosh Allen
XSaquon Barkley
XBradley Chubb
XQuenton Nelson
XMinkah Fitzpatrick
In play for Giants
Derwin James
Roquan Smith
Vita Vea
Denzel Ward
Tremaine Edmunds
Marcus Davenport
Josh Jackson
I like Vea, James, Smith, and Ward in that order.
At 21
One of the above drops, a WR, or
Mike McGlinchey
Will Hernandez
Leighton Vander Esch
Isaha Wynn
Darious Guice
We would get two very good players (or said to be good).
Plus three round 2 picks and a 2019 #1. Seems like a good deal unless you LOVE the player at #2.

Correct. Wasnt specific enough. Watching the Yanks and draft coverage at same time.
If we drafted McGlinchey he would kick over to RT and potentially be LT going forward once Solder retires. Plus he has LT experience and can fill in in case of injury.
McGlinchey at 12 provides quite a bit of value when you think about it.
I havent heard too many linked to him. Maybe Miami at 11?
Some scenarios (including our pick #34):
Offensive Line Scenario
#12: OT Connor Williams
#22: OG Isaiah Wynn
#34: OG Braden Smith
Defensive Front 7 Scenario
#12: DT Vita Vea
#22: EDGE Leighton Vander Esch
#34: EDGE Kemoko Turay/Harold Landry
Defensive Back 7 Scenario
#12: S Derwin James
#22: CB Mike Hughes
#34: EDGE Kemoko Turay/Harold Landry
Offensive Skill Position Scenario
#12: QB Lamar Jackson
#22: WR DJ Moore
#34: RB Sony Michel
Cool. Thanks for participating with the hypothetical implied with the thread title.
Thrill thinks he goes top-20 and would be smart arbitrage play on Chubb. Definitely an NYG target if they consider a trade.
Only one that possibly trumps that is that deal with Cleveland for their first 2 2s to swap 4 and 2.

Angry Monsters Scenario
12 Vita Vea
22 Will Hernandez
34 Smith or Wynn
I would be grinning ear-to-ear if we got Vea at 12 and McGlinchey at 22.

Agreed - Best is we end up with #4 and extra picks either in straight deal with Browns or three-way with Bills. We draft Barkley, Chubb, or Nelson and move on.
After looking at the options at 12 and 21 I kind of like that trade down as well.
Will be pretty frustrated if we miss the opportunity to make a killing.

Haha. I just don't we're moving back. I think we stay at 2.
Next year the QB class is supposedly weak. Perhaps having draft capital in 2020 would be better...
I suppose you can always trade out of the 2019 pick to a 2020 one...

I can almost guarantee that the Bills pick in the top five next year. But the Bills probably know that and would want another of their 1sts this year at the least. But if thats the case, we hold tight to 2.

Would anybody consider kicking the can a bit further down the road and getting a 2020 #1?

Good point...
I would think the Giants would only get one of Buffalo's second-round pick along with next years first round pick.
1-- The 12th pick take Vita Vea.
2-- Take two Offensive linemen with the next 2 picks.
3-- The next 2 3rd rd picks take a CB and RB or vice-versa.
***I'd consider pushing back the 3rd rd pick of CB for another Offensive Linemen just so we could "show" Matt Ryan (or Bridgewater if he shows he's really good and the Jets don't resign him because they like their young QB) he'd be in good hands. Give Matt Ryan "Manhattan."
In this scenario even Collins isn't "safe."
