Long story short, I work with someone who is friends with Saquon Barkley. Apparently when the subject was brought up to him a few days ago he said he thinks he's going to be drafted by the Bucs tomorrow. Of course, for all we know that means that the Bucs are the one team that said to him "If you're available we're definitely taking you." Or maybe he thinks the Giants are going QB or Chubb. Who knows for sure, but I just figured I'd throw it out there. Thankfully this is over in about 23 hours.
Saquon second
Rosen third
Chubb or trade down 4th.
I heard that upon further inspection with Okwara, Moss, OV and McKenzie that the team feels better at OLB and that pushed Chubb down a bit.
Darnold is almost a lock to go first and the Giants are pretty set on Barkley barring a ridiculous package to move down.
I won't say who told me, but I trust the information a great deal.
I heard things, Joey...

Go Rosen.
There should just be an epic meltdown thread stickied ahead of time.

That no matter what happens BBI is going to have a meltdown tomorrow..

Ha! Seconded.
You are being kind. Some just won't hate the pick but will yell for the next 5 years that DG is incompetent.
Barley is exactly what Philly would prefer the NYG to do. Their assertion is the NYG cannot currently nor in the future compete with the Eagles (and Wentz) without a better QB now and moving forward.

I'm not passing along nonsense or opinion ONLY what I heard. Shoot the messenger, I dare you, I double DOG dare you.
But maybe all of the Barkley stuff is just reality and not smoke.
If that's the direction we go, so be it.
Also, the idea that the Browns would like to bookend Chubb with Myles is popular among fans. The Browns themselves aren't. With the expectation that Barkley is gone at #2, they realize that their #4 is worth dealing more than loading up the DL with Chubb.
no they know cleveland was going qb. they hyped barkley to maybe get browns to take him leaving us darnold

Darnold #1 to the Browns, Barkley #2 to the Giants is expected. My educated guess leaning towards Chubb at #2 is in peril.

If that doesn't clue people in as to what we should really do, I don't know what will. Eagle fans want what is worst for us. They want us to get Barkley. I have a friend that is an Eagle fan. He similarly wants us to draft Barkley. No rival fan wants the opposition to get a franchise QB.
Yes
I would draw the conclusion that Barkley was just too obvious. Picking #2 and he's the unanimous BPA among analysts. We have been hearing from some time that Eli has "years" left. Those that want some seamless transition like Favre/Rodgers chose to take those comments and dismiss them as subterfuge in order to conceal the real intention. But like DG said the other day, he hasn't lied since he was a child.
I don't think so - because they've been tied to so many other players at this point.
I think circumstances just make it the most "obvious" choice to most people if Darnold is the first off the board (which it seems he will be)
People will frame it that way because they're desperate to prove that Reese had no control over anything ever leaking in the past, but from everything we've heard so far, Giants Central appears to be a pretty tight ship and has been throughout the process.

This is agonizing.
Less than 24 hours to go....

Barkley wouldn’t scare them one bit. How often of late have we controlled the LOS vs their front?
If they truly don't believe in any of these quarterbacks they should trade down and benefit from some dopey team that desperately wants one of them.
All everyone says is that this is a fantastic, deep running back draft. Turn #2 into a handful of picks and grab one of the other backs later on. Hell, take two. Odds are one of the guys in the pack will be a better pro than Saquon anyway.
My fears about Gettleman since he was hired are: 1) He was brought in because he told Mara what he wanted to hear with regards to Eli; 2) He's just generally a dinosaur who thinks about football in a very old fashioned way.
If he takes Barkley tomorrow it will confirm my suspicions.
That makes sense. This morning's story about the Browns having cooled on Darnold was nonsense, Haslam their owner has the had the hots for Darnold since his pro day. DG doesn't trade down, so it's always been Barkley - Chubb - Rosen to pick from at 2.

You’re full of shit. I was just in Philly for work, all week. Every single Eagle fan I talked to at the local establishments feared the Giants taking Barkley more than any other player. It was insanely one sided. I couldn’t believe it but that was their feelings. They don’t want to have to face Barkley twice per season.
I have no interest in Barkley at 2, and I countered their concerns with some reality, but I’m just passing along the conversations I had with Eagles fans.

I refuse to believe we have that stupid of a front office until it actually happens. Unless this was a mandate from the owners, at which point there was no real point in hiring a GM anyway.
This is the way it should be, for way too long this team’s had more leaks than the Titanic!

Who you rather have Chubb or Barkley or Rosen at 2.

So you are suggesting we base our draft strategy on what Iggles think we should or shouldn't do?
Also, let’s relax with the assumption that Wentz is going to own the division. The NFCE hasn’t had repeat winners since 2003/04.
Great point, and they got there on the back of a QB they gave a lot up for. Foles capped it off but Wentz was unreal
The Eagles weren’t brought up, their fans were. And as I said, I don’t want Barkley, but this nonsense about pointing to one team as the only way to win has got to stop. There are plenty of ways to build championship teams. There is no “formula”.

Absolutely agree. Eagles fans want us to take Rosen. They believe their line will kill him. They fear Barkley and also he went to Penn State.
