Who is your guy? If you want him at 2 just name the player. If you want him but only if a trade is made, just say so. Don’t have to work up the exact hypothetical trade.
To Others' Opinions. But going RB just makes no sense whatsoever. None. I don't care if it's Barkley, and he is rated so highly. Look at how many articles have come out in recent days stating that fact. And then we are going into battle with a 37 year old QB in win now mode when we have basically no chance to win now anyway? I just don't get it.
Last year, Shurmur drafted Cook in the second round, so he knows you can get good RBs later on. He also was able to lead a high functioning offense even after Cook went down, so I can't believe that he will stump for Barkley or would want to tie his entire tenure to Eli (and then an uncertain future following that). I don't have any inside information, but it would surprise me if that were the case. Maybe it's wishful thinking.
I am certainly nervous. Every - and I mean every - mock draft I have seen has Barkley going to us. Every mock draft would have to be wrong for us to go QB, and that makes me uneasy. I'll just have to wait and see.

We dont get to pick what position the best players in the draft play. The idea is to put as many good players on the team as possible, amd you eont do that by reaching for positions. I dont see Peyton Manning slapping me in the face in this draft, i see a crop of potential solid starters a couple of which may turn out to be great, but right now, with one pick, none of those QBs are screami g theyre the best. The player that is happens to play RB. Load the team with talent by taking the best player you got scouted. When we NEED a QB make a move to get one you like. Dont shop desperate until you have to

Shurmur didnt draft anybody.. and Cook was considered by most to be a first round talent. He had off the field issues which made him drop.. Arrests will affect your draft status. Kamara also had similar concerns which caused him to drop.
1) makes run game better
2) make time of possession better thus leaving defense on field a lot less
3) makes Eli better giving him a true play action threat the defense has to actually pay attention to.

Also creates a huge mismatch out the backfield against linebackers catching passes.
You can trade with Buffalo and draft him ar 12.....as he fell to 15 to Arz.
For us in the Rosen group we think Mayock is dead wrong when it comes to QB's. SO why bother caring what Mayock thinks or use his reasoning? He's wrong.
Deep RB class and an Ahmad Bradshaw clone in John Kelly will likely be available in round 3 and maybe even round 4, so Barkley at #2 does not make sense to me, just my opinion.

Sorry but the Vikings let their newly confirmed OC run their draft?
Then, the Giants will draft at least 2 interior OL to have a legit offense.
People have become SO Blinkered against "anyone but a QB" that they have forgotten that the primary reason that the Giants offense has become so utterly predictable is that NOT A SINGLE TEAM has had any reason whatsoever to respect the Giants run game.
With Barkley, that changes overnight. The Giants also don't have to hint at whether it is a run or pass play by their RB choice- Barkley is highly effective in both phases. Less predictability in the offense means more opportunities to use ALL their weapons to their maximum effect.
People have spent MONTHS here on BBI trying to convince themselves that Barkley is really just another RB and that similar backs are available in the draft- that just isn't true. There are good, solid RB in the draft- but Barkley is the best RB in YEARS to come out. Don't overthink things- just take the guy who completes the skill set combo and get some OL and DBs the rest of the way.
Not remotely getting my hopes up there though. I'd rank them: Mayfield, trade down, Chubb, Barkley. Would be thrilled with the first two choices and content with the last two. Giants are in a good spot.
Rosen is kind of a wild card for me, like him on the field but I think there's something to the non-football stuff with all the recent reports that he's off teams boards and/or sliding.
Take the four best OL/DL available and Derrius Guice /or/ Nick Chubb.
If we stay in the top four, I will go on record as saying I want the Giants to draft Mayfield. I don't think they will, but I believe he is the best of the big 4. Reminds me of Joe Theismann in terms of his fire and drive to win, with the potential for Brees like accuracy. Maturity is an issue. But I think the kid is gonna be a star. Plus it would be kind of fun to have the anti-Eli personality for the next chapter in NY. 180 degrees -- lol.
The Giants are not one player away. This team has holes. Trade down, get some extra picks and take a solid OL (or two), a CB and a RB. That said, I would be fine with Darnold, Barkley or Chubb if the Giants stick at #2.
While I will be happy with anyone of them. My favorite being Nelson. I have finally reach the spot where the player I want the most is ...
QB Josh Rosen
He is Aaron Rodgers man... we can’t pass on this talent because he had a couple of injuries or his doesn’t need the money or people are afraid because he knows what a concussion is and the NFL is scared he knows. QBs are the most protected players on the field in the NFL. Not as much in college.
Darnold
Barkley
Rosen
Trade down
Barkley
Rosen
Chubb
Nelson

Trade back - Nelson
If they can move to 4 or 5 and still get one of those guys or even Chubb or Nelson, I'm content with that too.
Moving out of the top 10 seems to be pushing it a little too much.
I can’t see Rosen getting passed up by both the NYG and the NYJ
