WIDE RECEIVER AND TIGHT END CLASS
THE DAY ONE TIGHT ENDS-Podcast
Everyone is talking about Penn State's Mike Gesicki, but Dave-Te is emphatic that South Dakota State's Dallas Goedert is "the man" in this year's tight end draft class. Both could be joined by a former baseball player as first round selections, South Carolina's Hayden Hurst. After this trio, expect a long wait for other tight ends to come off the draft board, so NFL teams, get 'em while they're hot!
THE DAY ONE WIDE RECEIVERS-Podcast
Most scouts that our staff talked to about the current wide receiver crop seem to be taking a ho-hum attitude when accessing their talent. Dave-Te and Paul Crane examine the players hoping to garner late round attention, headed by Alabama's Calvin Ridley. Still, Dave-Te says that if the Cowboys are smart cookies, they will see that the glass slipper fits them in regards to Courtland Sutton. Maryland's D.J. Moore is featured, a player who experienced twenty-three quarterback changes during his Terps career. Combo slot receiver/return man, Texas A& M's Christian Kirk is also high-lighted. And then, we get to the Elephant in the Room, a first round talent who might have a long, long wait on draft day or see some general manager role the dice on Florida castoff Antonio Callaway, whose off-field troubles makes him this class' Bart Simpson.

You can access that podcast on the Day One tight ends and wide receivers at;

https://vimeo.com/265485677

THE DAY TWO TIGHT ENDS-Podcast
There are other tight ends who will come off the board during the second day of the draft, but most will be pass catching specialists like Oklahoma's Mark Andrews and Miami's Christopher Herndon, but if a team might want to reach for a blocker earlier than Day Three, Indiana's Ian Thomas and Stanford's Dalton Schultz might entice them to do so. A little bit of tight end Day Two draft history is also featured in this combined podcast.
THE DAY TWO WIDE RECEIVERS-Podcast
In the second part of this podcast, the staff takes a look at the receivers who will be targets for teams during the second day of the draft. It features information on LSU speedster D.J. Chark, former Memphis walk-on Anthony Miller, Mason Rudolph's favorite target - James Washington of Oklahoma State, NCAA punt return record holder - Washington's Dante Pettis and the man with a name like an eye chart - Notre Dame's Equanimeus St. Brown.

THE TIGHT END DRAFT CLASS SCOUTING REPORTS-Day One Prospects
Old school returns to this position, thanks to a small school standout who plays the game the old-fashioned way - he earns it. This article starts out looking at the draft history at the tight end position, with the careers of some old-school types recalled.
While Penn State's Mike Gesicki is an outstanding athlete, it is South Dakota State's Dallas Goedert that takes top billing at this position. While both are considered first round talents, a former baseball player is "pitching" to earn Day One draft attention - South Carolina's Hayden Hurst. This story features analysis and detailed scouting reports on these three Day One tight end candidates.

The article is located here;

THE WIDE RECEIVER DRAFT CLASS SCOUTING REPORTS-Day One Prospects
Our staff looks at four wide receivers that have been tagged as Day One prospects. This draft will likely see the receivers not draw any attention until midway through the opening round. Alabama's Calvin Ridley is the favorite to be the top receiver taken, but Dave-Te delves into the assets that his favorite pass catching target has - SMU's Courtland Sutton, with a dream match between him and the Dallas Cowboys. The staff also touts Maryland's D.J. Moore and Texas A& M's sensational slot receiver/returner, Christian Kirk, as two other receivers with outstanding abilities. Then, the draft bad boy, a first round talent who has been in more trouble than Bart Simpson, Florida castoff Antonio Callaway. This article features analysis and detailed scouting reports on this group. It also features a look back at some of the more notable first round receivers from past drafts.

THE TIGHT END DRAFT CLASS SCOUTING REPORTS-Day Two Prospects
While most NFL scouting directors and general managers are in agreement on the top tight ends listed on our ratings chart, the life of the scout is to unearth talent. With the ever-changing ways that the tight end position is used in college, more often than not, statistics “hide” the true value of those performers, especially in the art of blocking.
With the spread offenses becoming increasingly popular, college teams have not really embraced the “safety valve” features a tight end can bring to the passing game, especially in the short-to-intermediate range. Scouts are also seeing that the college tight ends are getting quicker, but also smaller, compared to the prospects produced in prior drafts.
Dave-Te's reports feature details on Oklahoma's Mark Andrews and Miami's Christopher Herndon, along with a pair of steady blockers, Indiana's Ian Thomas and Stanford's Dalton Schultz. Also included is a draft historical look at Day Two tight end proceedings since the draft went to a seven-round format in 1997.

The article is located here;

http://www.footballnation.net/articles/theres-a-good-mix-of-pass-catchers-and-blockers-among-tight-ends-for-the-drafts-second-day-action

THE WIDE RECEIVER DRAFT CLASS SCOUTING REPORTS-Day One Prospects
Since the NFL instituted a seven-round draft format beginning in 1997, 183 wide receivers have been selected in the second and third rounds. From a longevity factor, three of those pass catchers played in at least two hundred games - Steve Smith (2001 third round; Carolina; 219 appearances), Hines Ward (217 games; 1998 third round; Pittsburgh) and Anquan Boldin (202 games; second round in 2003; Arizona). Twelve of those picks appeared in less than ten games while two - converted Nebraska quarterback Eric Crouch (third round by St. Louis in 2002) and Michigan's Marquis Walker (Tampa Bay in the third round of the 2002 draft), never suited up for an NFL regular season game.
In this feature, Dave-Te provides detailed scouting reports on LSU speedster D.J. Chark, Dante Pettis of Washington, his favorite pass catcher - Anthony Miller of Memphis, Colorado State's Michael Gallup, Oklahoma State's James Washinton, Deon Cain of Clemson and Notre Dame's Equanimeus St. Brown.

RUNNING BACK CLASS
THE RUNNING BACK DRAFT CLASS-podcast
In this show, Dave-Te and Paul Crane really dig deep into this year's running back class. All the chatter has Saquon Barkley as the featured back in this draft, but the Southeastern Conference quartet of Georgia's Sony Michel and Nick Chubb, Louisiana State's Derrius Guice and Auburn's Kerryon Johnson are all expected to be taken before the second day of the draft ends. They will likely be joined as Day Two selections by San Diego State's Rashaad Penny and possibly Oregon's Royce Freeman. Dave-Te' and Paul Crane then go down the list of the twenty-seven ball carriers that they expect to become NFL selections before the draft ends.

THE RUNNING BACK DRAFT CLASS-Feature Story
In this feature of our series analyzing the 2018 Running Back Draft Class, The NFL Draft Report takes a look at the history of the running back position since the draft's inception in 1936.
With more and more emphasis in the passing game, coupled with teams gearing towards a “running back by committee” approach, the day and age of the franchise ball carrier is starting to fade away. One look at this year’s tailback class and it is easy to see that there is one true franchise running back in the group, and the only player considered to be a certain first round pick – Penn State's Saquon Barkley.

The article is located here;

http://www.footballnation.net/articles/before-you-look-at-the-2018-nfl-draft-running-back-class-heres-a-little-history-lesson

THE RUNNING BACK DRAFT CLASS SCOUTING REPORTS-Day One Prospects
In our series analyzing the 2018 Running Back Draft Class Day One Prospects, The NFL Draft Report takes a look at the current crop of talent available. Prior to the 2017 college football season, just three running backs were designated as first round potentials - senior Nick Chubb and junior Saquon Barkley and Derrius Guice. While Barkley is considered to be in contention for the top overall pick (likely to go between selection two-to-four), Guice has a chance for being selected late during Day One activities.
Chubb's history of injuries and the rise of fellow Georgia tailback Sony Michel could see the big back get a call on Day Two of the draft, but he could slip into the third round due to his long medical history. Hamstrings have "hamstrung" USC's Ronald Jones III this off-season and teams have still yet to gauge the durability of Auburn's Kerryon Johnson, but both are likely to join Michel as second round selections. Here are extensive scouting reports on the top running backs in this year's draft class;

THE RUNNING BACK DRAFT CLASS SCOUTING REPORTS-Day Two Prospects
In our series analyzing the 2018 Running Back Draft Class Day Two Prospects, The NFL Draft Report takes a look at the current crop of talent available who could hear their names called during the draft's second day event. Since the 2000 NFL Draft, the league has used 1,152 selections during these two rounds, yet just 92 of those choices were for running backs. This article features detailed scouting analysis on Georgia's Nick Chubb, Auburn's Kerryon Johnson and San Diego State's Rashaad Penny, along with some interesting historical facts about the NFL and running backs on Day Two of the draft.

In our series analyzing the 2018 Running Back Draft Class Day Three Prospects, The NFL Draft Report takes a look at that the current crop of talent available who could hear their names called during the draft's third through seventh rounds, along with a select priority free agent types. Featured in this story are detailed information and scouting analysis on Oregon's Royce Freeman, Josh Adams-Notre Dame, Nyheim Hines-North Carolina State, John Kelly-Tennessee, Bo Scarbrough-Alabama, Kallen Ballage-Arizona State and Antwan Wadley-Iowa.

OFFENSIVE LINE CLASS

THE OFFENSIVE CENTER DRAFT CLASS-podcast
This seems to be a very talented group, but the first three centers on the draft board all come with injury concerns. The top players are discussed in detail, along with Day Two and Day Three center projections, along with a few "plug in and play" types that offer value not only as centers, but at other positions along the offensive front wall.

You can access that podcast at;

https://vimeo.com/260342527

THE OFFENSIVE TACKLE DRAFT CLASS-podcast
A look at the top tackles eligible for the draft and how this year's crop is less impressive than previous years. There could be as many as four guards selected before a tackle hears his name called on draft day (several teams are projecting Connor Williams more as a guard prospect). Also included are some Day Two and Day Three draft gems at this position, along with a few sleepers who could earn roster spots as camp free agents.

You can access that podcast at;

https://vimeo.com/261576476

THE OFFENSIVE GUARD DRAFT CLASS-podcast
Led by The NFL Draft Report's top prospect - Quenton Nelson - the offensive guard class is certain to steal the limelight away from the offensive tackle crop. After Nelson, Will Hernandez is the next lineman expected to be drafted and two collegiate tackles - Isaiah Wynn and Connor Williams, could end up being selected as interior blockers rather than edge protectors. A little draft history is provided, along with in-depth scouting reports on those targeted for Day One and Day Two draft proceedings, followed by some of the sleepers that could be unearthed in the later rounds.

THE OFFENSIVE LINE DRAFT CLASS SCOUTING REPORTS

THE OFFENSIVE CENTER DRAFT CLASS-History Lesson
In part one of this position feature, I put on my professor's hat for another round of draft history. There are fourteen centers currently in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Can you name them? Well, after you read the material in this article, you will know a little bit more about the men who were really the "center of attention" for their organizations.

The article is located here;

http://www.footballnation.net/articles/before-you-analyze-the-2018-center-class-here-is-a-little-bit-of-draft-history

THE OFFENSIVE CENTER DRAFT CLASS SCOUTING REPORTS-Day One Prospects
This article takes a look at the current 2018 center class, along with some details on the veteran free agents that decided to find new teams to compete with in 2018. Two centers in this draft class - James Daniels and Billy Price - are also analyzed with their in-depth scouting reports included.

The article is located here;

http://www.footballnation.net/articles/for-nfl-teams-the-draft-could-feature-three-centers-drawing-early-round-attention

THE OFFENSIVE CENTER DRAFT CLASS SCOUTING REPORTS-Day Two Prospects
Part III-In this article, I examine the trickle down effect of Spencer Long leaving the Redskins and how his signing will impact both the Jets and Washington. The editor then provides a detailed scouting report and analysis on a center that is by and far the best in this draft class - whether NFL general managers agree or not - Arkansas' Frank Ragnow, a man among boys. Mr. Plug In and Play, Austin Corbett of Nevada is not only featured at this position, but is also highlighted on the offensive guard reports. It also provides in-depth reports on the centers expected to be Day Three draftees, along with several sleepers that could surprise in training camp. Michigan's Mason Cole and others are also examined in detail.

The article is located here;

THE OFFENSIVE TACKLE DRAFT CLASS-History Lesson
his article takes a look at the NFL's love of offensive tackles, with several actually becoming the first overall picks in their respective drafts. Like most of my position features, Part One looks at the historical importance of those tackle selections - the first overall pick group, the first rounders in general and those that made their way to the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

THE OFFENSIVE TACKLE DRAFT CLASS SCOUTING REPORTS-Day One/Two Prospects
Part II-In Part Two of our series analyzing the 2018 Offensive Tackle Draft Class, The NFL Draft Report takes a look at that the current crop of offensive tackles. Prior to the 2017 college football season, as many as seven offensive tackles were strongly considered to be first round prospects. Seven months later, that figure could be reduced to possibly/maybe just two hearing their names called among the first thirty-two selections. This article features scouting reports on Connor Williams-Texas, Mike McGlinchey-Notre Dame, Tyrell Crosby-Oregon, Martinas Rankin-Mississippi State and Orlando Brown-Oklahoma.

The article is located here;

http://www.footballnation.net/articles/there-is-not-much-cream-in-the-crop-of-2018-nfl-draft-offensive-tackle-prospects

THE OFFENSIVE TACKLE DRAFT CLASS SCOUTING REPORTS-Day Two/Three Prospects
In Part Three of our series analyzing the 2018 Offensive Tackle Draft Class, The NFL Draft Report takes a look at that the current crop of offensive tackles that will likely be selected later during Day Two and Day Three draft activities. The general consensus is that at least seventeen offensive tackles will be taken after round one, with another ten hoping they can hear their phones ring during the fringes of the draft. Inside are scouting reports on Brian O'Neill-Pittsburgh, Chukwoma Okorafor-Western Michigan, Alex Cappa-Humboldt State, Kolton Miller-UCLA, Jamarco Jones-Ohio State, Desmond Harrison-West Georgia, Brandon Parker-North Carolina A& T and Joseph Noteboom-Texas Christian.

THE OFFENSIVE GUARD DRAFT CLASS SCOUTING REPORTS-Day One/Two Prospects
This report analyzes the 2018 Offensive Guard Draft Class, The NFL Draft Report takes a look at that current crop of prospects. Prior to the 2017 college football season, just one college guard was regarded as a draft opening day selection, despite still having two years of eligibility remaining.
Well, that junior did decide to enter the 2018 draft and is regarded as the best prospect in this draft class at any position - Notre Dame's Quenton Nelson. With teams re-emphasizing the running game, guards that can trap and pull in the elite Nelson mode are highly coveted, especially based on the contract Kevin Zeitler and Andrew Norwell have signed within the last thirteen months. Also included are scouting reports on Will Hernandez-Texas-El Paso, Isaiah Wynn-Georgia and our staff's favorite "plug him in anywhere" blocker, Nevada's Austin Corbett.

The article is located here;

http://www.footballnation.net/articles/the-2018-draft-will-see-the-changing-of-the-guards-as-tackles-take-a-back-seat

THE OFFENSIVE GUARD DRAFT CLASS SCOUTING REPORTS-Day Two/Three Prospects
In this reports, it features a look at The NFL Draft Report's current crop of prospects that might fill team depth needs during the third day of the draft process. While most of the elite blockers in the NFL were early round draft selections, there have been a few gems unearthed by teams in the later phases of the draft. A little bit of offensive guard late round draft history is followed by scouting reports featuring Braden Smith-Auburn, Wyatt Teller-Virginia Tech, Sean Welsh-Iowa, Skyler Phillips-Idaho State, Taylor Hearn-Clemson, Cole Madison and Cody O'Connell from Washington State, Tony Adams-North Carolina State and Colby Gossett-Appalachian State.

DEFENSIVE LINE CLASS
THE DAY ONE DEFENSIVE LINE CLASS-Podcast
This podcast features an in-depth look at the defensive linemen that our staff feels are worthy of first round consideration. No one is doubting the explosive ability that Brandon Chubb offers a team, as he has brought about a split in the New York Giants war room - Chubb for the Defense, or Barkley for the Offense. Either way, the North Carolina State star will be stepping on to the draft podium very early in the process. After the first dozen players are selected, raw talent Marcus Davidson should be the next end to be drafted and injured Boston College edge rusher Harold Landry could be staying in-state, as the Patriots have two late first round picks.
Dave-Te takes off the "kid gloves" in explaining why he feels that Vita Vea, the Washington interior lineman hailed by most as the best defensive tackle, could not hold the jock strap of fellow Pac-12 Conference star, Stanford's Harrison Phillips. Read the explanation and detailed report on the comparison and production generated on the two in the feature story explained below. Also in this Day One podcast is information on Da'Ron Payne, Maurice Hurst and our staff's big sleeper, Florida's Taven Bryan.

You can access that podcast at;

https://vimeo.com/264695705

THE DAY TWO DEFENSIVE LINE CLASS-Podcast
This podcast takes a look at the Day Two defensive line draft candidates at the edge, tackle and nose guard positions. While the defensive end class will see several teams trying to trade up in the second round to snatch USC's Rasheen Green, Ohio State's Sam Hubbard, LSU's Arden Key, the Tides' Da'Shawn Hand lead an end contingent that delves into the good and bad of five other outside defenders. The interior line is also examined, with Virginia Tech's Tim Settle and Georgia's Trenton Thompson joined by South Florida's Deadrin Senat and North Carolina State's B.J. Hill. Still, Dave-Te delves into two unknowns that he says are certain to be draft day finds, including Fort Hays State standout Nathan Shepherd.

You can access that podcast at;

https://vimeo.com/264704445

THE DAY THREE DEFENSIVE LINE CLASS-Podcast
Dave-Te and Paul Crane dip into their batch of scouting reports to identify some defensive line talent that could make an impact in the NFL. One player in particular has drawn Dave-Te's highest praise - Sam Houston State's P.J. Hall, who ranks second in NCAA FCS history with 42.0 sacks and holds the tackle-for-loss record with 86.5. So, maybe the Combine folks can explain why those numbers on the field for a 308-pound lineman who ran 4.73 and bench pressed 225 pounds 36 times during his Pro Day was not in Indianapolis? Hear Dave-Te take off the kid gloves over that puzzling situation.
The duo take a look at the "Scouts Specials," the Day Three prospects - unknowns, injured and small college stars can emerge from those mentioned here, as Day Three of the draft usually sees the hard work recorded by team scouts in their quests to find talent worthy of getting into camp to fill roster depth needs. Both analysts delve into the strengths/weaknesses featured by defensive ends Jalyn Holmes and Tyquan Lewis of Ohio State, Tulane's Ade Aruna, Utah's Kylie Fitts, Miami's Chad Thomas and Dave-Te favorite, Doran Armstrong of Kansas.
Interior defenders put under the microscope include a star in the making, Sam Houston State's P.J. Hall, along with Florida State's Derrick Nnadi, North Carolina State's duo of Kentavius Street and Justin Jones, the Miami tandem of R.J. McIntosh and Kendrick Norton, along with Connecticut strongman, Folo Fatakasi, Virginia's Andrew Brown, Poona Ford of Texas and small school standout, Bilal Nichols of the Delaware Blue Hens.

THE DEFENSIVE END DRAFT CLASS SCOUTING REPORTS-Day One Prospects
This is the first part of The NFL Draft Report's feature story on the 2018 Defensive End Draft Class. With the position changing in recent years, gone are the 300-pound outside defenders, replaced by "oversized" linebacker types, aptly titled as edge rushers. This story takes a look at the three athletes certain to go in the first round - North Carolina State's Bradley Chubb, who is likely to be taken between the second to fourth overall selections. Athleticism trumps production where Texas-San Antonio's Marcus Davenport is concerned, but most teams feel he can be a Chandler Jones clone. Rounding out this trio is 2016 season sensation, Harold Landry. The Boston College sack artist had an injury-plagued 2017 campaign, but has fared well in postseason workouts to retain his draft stock in the late first round. Inside is not only information on these players, but their official detailed scouting reports are provided.

THE DEFENSIVE END DRAFT CLASS SCOUTING REPORTS-Day Two Prospects
This is the second part of The NFL Draft Report's look at the Defensive End Class, with a those that we feel are worthy of being selected on the draft's third day. Details and in-depth scouting reports on six prospects expected to be selected on Friday, along with information on a workout warrior who could lead the group during the early stages of Day Three.
This report starts with the defensive end position. USC's rising star, Rasheen Green and also features Ohio State's Sam Hubbard, the draft enigma, LSU's Arden Key, underrated Alabama captain Da'Shawn Hand, along with Oklahoma's Ogbonnia Okoronkwu, who will be converting from college linebacker. Also, keep an eye on one of the fastest draft risers here, Ole Miss' Breeland Speaks and the dark horse in this group, possible Day Three find, Jalyn Holmes of Ohio State.

THE DEFENSIVE TACKLE DRAFT CLASS SCOUTING REPORTS-Day One Prospects
In this feature article, The NFL Draft Report looks back at the history of the draft at this position and also gets into a heavy debate on Washington's Vita Vea being the draft's most overrated player and how Stanford's Harrison Phillips was robbed of the Pac-12 Morris Trophy. See the details on why the better performer did not get that trophy to put on his mantelpiece. Also featured are detailed scouting analysis on other Day One defensive tackles - Da'Ron Payne-Alabama, Michigan's Maurice Hurst and the medical scare he faced at the Combine and a player our staff sees having J.J. Watt qualities, Florida's Taven Bryan.

The article is located here;

http://www.footballnation.net/articles/the-pac12-and-sec-are-loaded-with-quality-defensive-tackles-but-floridas-taven-bryan-could-be-the-next-jj-watt

THE DEFENSIVE TACKLE DRAFT CLASS SCOUTING REPORTS-Day Two Prospects
In the second feature looking at the 2018 Defensive Tackle Draft Class, Dave-Te's in-depth scouting reports feature a Brandon Williams clone - Virginia Tech's Tim Settle. Read his extensive analysis of small school standout, Fort Hays State's Nathan Shepherd and oft-injured Alabama five-star recruit Trenton Thompson. North Carolina State's B.J. Hill is expected to join teammate Bradley Chubb, along with two other Gamecocks down linemen as 2018 draftees. Deadrin Senat is an underrated talent out of South Florida who is also examined here.
Also featured is the biggest Combine snub, Sam Houston State's P.J. Hall. How the NFL decision makers decided to not invite him to Indianapolis is puzzling, but I am certain loads of scouts said "my bad" after Hall's Pro Day performance that saw the 308-pound four-time All-American run a 4.73 second 40-yard dash and put up the weights 36 times. Second in NCAA FCS history with 42 sacks, Hall broken that division's record with 86.5 tackles for loss. Now, he wants to make some opposing quarterback pay for that snub.

LINEBACKER CLASS
THE DAY ONE LINEBACKER CLASS-Podcast
In the first of a three-part sit-down session with Paul Crane, Dave-Te Thomas sits down to talk about the second level defenders - - the 2018 NFL Draft Linebacker Class. Among the forty-three linebackers to attend the Combine, there was a distinct imbalance, as only seventeen were designated as future outside linebacker. With the edge rushers becoming vogue, teams are beginning to rely more on two linebackers stationed in the middle of the field. Dave-Te and Paul go into detail on those worthy of walking the podium on the first day of the draft. Featured are in-depth analysis on Virginia Tech's Tremaine Edmunds and Boise State's Leighton Vander Esch, two players Dave-Te says will be the best at their respective positions. He also concedes that Georgia's Roquan Smith will be the first linebacker drafted, but broke down several holes in the Bulldog's game that will see him shift inside at the pro level. He is joined in this podcast with Dave-Te breaking down Smith's teammate holding tremendous promise - Lorenzo Carter, as this duo is also sees a fellow SEC backer discussed - the Crimson Tide's Rashaan Evans.

THE DAY TWO LINEBACKER CLASS-Podcast
Don't go away folks, there is three days to the draft and in this podcast, Paul Crane and Dave-Te Thomas take a look at the inside and outside linebackers who are likely to be selected during the draft's second day. Dave-Te also offers a little history lesson about some of the draft finds teams unearthed at these positions after Round One. Some of those featured in the discussion are Malik Jefferson-Texas, Southern California late bloomer, Uchenna Nwosu, Ohio State's Jerome Baker, Combine darling, Central Florida's Shaquem Griffin, Virginia's Micah Kiser and Iowa's tackling machine, Josey Jewell.

THE DAY THREE LINEBACKER CLASS-Podcast
In the final podcast dealing with the linebacker class, Paul Crane and Dave-Te Thomas take you on their search for the draft day "gems," the unknown or injured talent that might not have heard their names called during the first two days of the draft, but now look more inviting to NFL teams during the final four rounds. As much as the fans enjoy the wild and crazy first day that is filled with loads of trades, they need to start writing selection during Day Three proceeding in pencil. Why? Well, actually, more trade activity takes place this day than on the first two. It is the time where teams that have yet to fill their needs, start playing "Trader Jack." While draft picks will change hands, usually a veteran or a future draft pick is involved.
Dave-Te takes a look at some of these linebackers that he feels could beat out long odds and leave training camp with a roster spot. While a bunch of them are analyzed, some of the more impressive athletes Dave-Te tells you to keep an eye on are inside backers Genard Avery-Memphis, The NFL Draft Report's most underrated Mike man, along with small college star Nick DeLuca-North Dakota State, along with a possible conversion to safety in Clemson's Dorian O'Daniel.
Some other second level performers featured here are Washington's Keishawn Bierria, Indiana's blitzing machine, Tegray Scales, Vanderbilt's Oren Burks, Rutgers rush end Kemoko Turay, Brigham Young captain, Fred Warner, Auburn's Jeff Holland and a Harry Carson clone from the Hall of Fame linebacker's old school - Darius Leonard of South Carolina State.

THE LINEBACKER DRAFT CLASS-Feature Stories
Dave-Te's extensive overview, analysis and scouting reports are featured here, with must-read reports on the current 2018 NFL Draft Class.
THE INSIDE LINEBACKER DRAFT CLASS SCOUTING REPORTS-Day One Prospects
The NFL invited forty-three linebackers to the Scouting Combine in 2018 and from all appearances, at least thirty-four of them went home with a projected draft round indication. There seems to be a bit of a shift in the talent base, as a dozen of the college outside linebackers were asked to undergo inside drills in Indianapolis.
Based on those draft projections, just two projected inside linebackers are expected to be taken during the first day of the draft - Boise State's Leighton Vander Esch and Georgia's Roquan Smith. They could be joined by Alabama's Rashaan Evans, as teams seem to cbe split on deciding if he is a better fit inside or outside.
This article also delves into the draft's history in selecting linebackers. Playing linebacker in the NFL was a slow process, at least where the draft was concerned. Since the draft's inception in 1936, 2,385 linebackers have been drafted, but the first player taken at his position was Stu Clarkson, as the Texas College of Arts and Industries performer was taken in the 22nd round with the 200th overall pick by the Chicago Bears in 1942. He would play 78 games as a professional.
It was not until 1949 that a linebacker was selected in the first round, but he would be a player to set the standard for all greats to come at the position. Charles Philip Bednarik, nicknamed Concrete Charlie, was known as one of the most devastating tacklers in the history of football and the last full-time two-way player in the NFL. He was not only the first linebacker drafted, he was the first to be the top overall pick in his draft and the first linebacker drafted to enter the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
So, take a step back into the old glory years with Dave-Te, along with reading a very detailed scouting report on the three linebackers mentioned above.

THE OUTSIDE LINEBACKER DRAFT CLASS SCOUTING REPORTS-Day One Prospects
While two middle linebackers are expected to be taken in the opening round, Virginia Tech's Tremaine Edmunds might just be the best of the bunch. The only sure-fire first round outside linebacker (note-edge rushers will be featured in a future article, a pair of Southeastern Conference performers - Georgia's Lorenzo Carter and Alabama's Rashaan Evans - hope that their body of work lures a late first day draft team into calling their number. Dave-Te's very extensive scouting reports are featured on the trio, with a nice look at Edmunds "Family Business" in the football industry, with two brothers hoping to play with him next year and a Pro Bowl tight end father coaching them in high school.

THE INSIDE LINEBACKER DRAFT CLASS SCOUTING REPORTS-Day Two Prospects
If teams decide to slip Boise State's Leighton Vander Esch to an inside slot, he is also expected to walk the podium in Round One. Teams still looking for quality inside attackers have three to choose from in Texas' Malik Jefferson, Virginia's Micah Kiser and Iowa's Josey Jewell, but unless Ohio State's Jerome Baker and Brigham Young's Fred Warner are designated as middle 'backers, this position will see most of its activity during the final day, as ten prospects here have received fourth-through-seventh round projections.
This article features Dave-Te's analysis and scouting reports on each of the linebackers mentioned above. A staff favorite has emerged in the Longhorns' Jefferson, but if a team is looking for tackling machines, check out the statistics compiled by Kiser and Jewell.

The article is located here;

THE OUTSIDE LINEBACKER DRAFT CLASS SCOUTING REPORTS-Day Two Prospects
Several collegiate linebackers are likely to perform at the edge in the pro ranks, taking Boston College's Harold Landry and Washington State's Hercules Mataafa out of the linebacker analysis, but one big man who might be better served remaining as a strong-side linebacker is Smith's teammate with the Bulldogs, Lorenzo Carter.
Southern California's Uchenna Nwosu, Florida State's Josh Sweat and Georgia's Davin Bellamy are three other players with similar frames to Carter's, but all are seeing themselves as possible edge types, along with Landry and Mataafa. At least five college outside linebackers are expected to be selected during the draft's second day, but that total could increase to seven, if teams wait until round two to tab Carter and Alabama's Rashaan Evans, who is getting more draft attention from 3-4 scheme teams looking for a weak-side performer for their inside unit.
Some outside linebackers projected as Day Two targets are Nwosu, Ohio State's Jerome Baker, Senior Bowl and Combine darling, Central Florida's Shaquem Griffin and two late bloomers, Fred Warner of Brigham Young and rush end Kemoko Turay of Rutgers (featured in part four).
Continued post-Combine impressive workouts by Florida State's Josh Sweat, Vanderbilt's Own Burks and Auburn's Jeff Holland could see them get late Day Two attention, but are more likely to kick off Day Three action early as probable fourth round choices. This article features oveerview, analysis and detailed scouting reports on each of these players from Dave-Te'

THE INSIDE LINEBACKER DRAFT CLASS SCOUTING REPORTS-Day Three Prospects
Teams generally use the last day of the draft to fill out their rosters, but they also realize it is quite the "hit and miss" event trying to unearth talent past the third round that have much shelf life. Since the 200 draft, teams have selected 345 inside and outside linebackers from Rounds Four through Seven.
Thirty-three of those players never made it out of training camp, including one fourth round pick; five fifth round choices, thirteen sixth round selections and fourteen more in the seventh round.
Within that group, 149 appeared in at least a full season of contests (sixteen games), but 196 others appeared in fifteen games or less, including 119 that saw less than ten games of action. Twenty-eight of those draftees reached the 100-game level during their careers.

THE OUTSIDE LINEBACKER DRAFT CLASS SCOUTING REPORTS-Day Three Prospects
From that group of seventeen outside linebackers that attended the 2018 NFL Scouting Combine, ten are likely to be drafted, but just six of them appear to have Day One/Day Two pedigree. This leaves the rest of the position class hoping that their phone rings before the draft ends on Day Three. Here are a few of those third day possible targets

DEFENSIVE BACK CLASS
THE DAY ONE CORNERBACK CLASS-Podcast
Dave-Te and Paul Crane taped several episodes taking a look at the Day One talent not mentioned in previous podcasts. In their examination of secondary standouts, this episodes delves into the qualities that have others in this draft class ranking behind yet another Ohio State cornerback sensation - Denzel Ward. The Buckeye is not the only corner drawing first round attention, with Central Florida's Mike Hughes, Iowa's Joshua Jackson and Louisville's Jaire Alexander all expected to get a first day draft call. Here is what these two analysts had to say about this quartet.
THE DAY ONE SAFETY CLASS-Podcast
Paul Crane and Dave-Te take a look at three hard-hitting safeties that will be strongly considered by teams in the first round. Anyone that questions why Florida State's Derwin James should not be considered the elite performer here, are certain to get an earful from Dave-Te disputing that. In fact, Bradley Chubb, Tremaine Edmunds and Derwin James are The NFL Draft Report's top three defensive players. The analysts also discuss why Alabama's great tandem of Minkah Fitzpatrick and Ronnie Harrison might have to switch positions at the pro level.

THE DAY TWO CORNERBACK AND SAFETY CLASS-podcast
Dave-Te and Paul Crane examine the corners and safeties that will probably hear their names called in the second and third rounds. Dave-Te also talks about how the high amount of safeties in this draft have caused several veteran free agents to still be unemployed, as teams feel the draft offers better and cheaper options. Stanford's Justin Reid, Virginia Tech's Terrell Edmunds, Colorado's Isaiah Oliver and Auburn's Carlton Davis are just a few of the defensive backs the duo talk about.

THE CORNERBACK DRAFT CLASS SCOUTING REPORTS-Day One Prospects
Much like pitchers in baseball, you can never have enough shutdown cornerbacks. Our staff has identified four corners worthy of Day One draft attention, headed by Dave-Te's favorite - Ohio State's Denzel Ward. This article take a look back at the first round cornerbacks taken in previous drafts, followed by detailed scouting analysis on Ward, Iowa's sensational pass thief, Joshua Jackson, rising Central Florida star, Mike Hughes and Jaire Alexander, whose season was marred by injuries at Louisville last season.

The article is located here;

THE SAFETY DRAFT CLASS SCOUTING REPORTS-Day One Prospects
Alabama's Minkag Fitzpatrick seems to be the media darling and NFL teams have him listed all over their secondary board, but our staff feels the college strong safety is better served at free safety and his teammate, Ronnie Harrison, is a better fit at strong safety rather than the free position. However, Dave-Te explains why Florida State's Derwin James could be an inside version of his former teammate, Jalen Ramsey. Detailed analysis and scouting reports on these three standouts is featured in this examination of the draft 2018 Safety Class top prospects.

The article is located here;

THE CORNERBACK DRAFT CLASS SCOUTING REPORTS-Day Two Prospects
Depending where Alabama's Minkah Fitzpatrick is drafted - as a cornerback or safety - he will certainly be a first round draft selection and join Ohio State's Denzel Ward as early first day targets. Central Florida's Mike Hughes, Louisville's Jaire Alexander and Iowa's Joshua Jackson will then battle to see who the next pass defender will be, but both should hear their names called before the first round concludes.
The next wave of cornerbacks will be led by Auburn's Carlton Davis, with Colorado's Isaiah Oliver and Louisiana State track star Donte Jackson all off the board in the second round. The second day of the draft will also feature Florida's Duke Dawson and Alabama's Anthony Averett heading up the position's action in the third round. Tennessee's Rashaan Gaulden hopes to hold on to third round draft status, but after his mediocre Combine exposed his lack of speed, he is now being considered for a conversion to safety. Scouting reports are featured.

THE SAFETY DRAFT CLASS SCOUTING REPORTS-Day Two Prospects
This feature looks like "All in the Family," as Terrell Edmunds-Virginia Tech has his brother, Tremaine in the same draft. Eric Reid's brother, Justin, is challenging Edmunds to be the third safety drafted. Kyzir White's brother Ka'Raun is a receiver in this draft and their older brother Kevin, was a Chicago Bears first round bust. That trio, along with Wake Forest's Jessie Battes III is put under the microscope by Dave-Te.

DAVE-TE AND PAUL CRANE "NEWSIES" REPORTS
NEWSIE-March 14th Feature
In this report, Dave-Te Thomas and Paul Crane sit down to discuss some of the dynamics going on inside several team complexes. Are the Giants just sitting and waiting for the Browns to decide on which quarterback they are taking or will New York just trade down now, if an enticing offer comes there way? Dave-Te talks about how Josh Allen could be the player the Browns take, stating that Dave Gettleman would have "rockets on his feet" getting the card up to the podium with Sam Darnold's name on it, if Dorsey and Crew go for the Wyoming quarterback.
Is Chucky getting his hands into too many aspects in Oakland's front office and where does that leave Reggie McKenzie in the new office structure? Dave-Te's advice to Reggie? Start placing Mayflower Movers on speed dial.
Just how bad is the dysfunction in New England and what might be the fate of Gronk moving forward? Dave-Te says the big tight end stays, unless Coach Bill can entice a package Denver might like, as the logical quarterback to replace a legend in Bean Town might be Josh Allen.
What might Green Bay be looking for? Well, if Dave-Te was making the call, a linebacker from Boise State could bring back memories of arch rival Brian Urlacher in Leighton Vander Esch.
Also included are some updates on the current free agents still on the market and an extensive look at Eric Reid - is he being blackballed, or is it a combination of mediocre play and a great safety draft class that has Reid, Kenny Vacaro and Tre Boston still unemployed?

NEWSIE-March 21st Feature
Draft Class, sign up for frequent flyer miles and call Travelocity, it is that time of the year to go on the football world tour. Dave-Te Thomas and Paul Crane are back, this time taking a look at last minute action by teams. Each organization is allowed to bring thirty out-of-town players to their complexes. Dave-Te talks about these visits and how it helps teams by sitting down and getting to know those athletes in a better setting than their required 15-minute interviews at the Combine. He also talks about how these visits can indicate who might be rising up on draft boards, as teams aren't going to fly in a fifth rounder for "tea and biscuits" unless they have Day One/Day Two intentions for that athlete. While the quarterbacks have been making the rounds, a Texas linebacker has been on more planes recently than a pilot - Malik Jefferson. Hear why this is happening.

DAVE-TE'S SMALL COLLEGE REPORT-podcast
A Look at the Rising Talent in the 2018 NFL Draft Coming From the Small College Ranks
In this broadcast, Dave-Te discusses with Paul Crane that this year, the small college players are going to make "some noise" on draft day. While teams generally use the bulk of their draft picks to take known, major college talent, there are two dozen players from the Football Championship Subdivision and below that are deemed as draft-type players.
This group features South Dakota State's Dallas Goedert - The NFL Draft Report's top-rated tight end; Brandon Parker of North Carolina A& T - Dave-Te's top sleeper at the offensive tackle position; Darius Leonard of North Carolina State, hailed by Dave-Te as the best defensive player in the FBS.
Former tackle Skyler Phillips of Idaho State is projected as a future starter at either center or guard by the two analysts, and Paul is very high on the punishing tackles delivered by North Dakota State's inside linebacker Nick DeLuca. Dave-Te also calls Richmond quarterback Kyle Lauletta the perfect "glass slipper" for the quarterback of the future issues facing both the Washington Redskins and the New York Giants. Some of the other rising stars that you might have not heard of are also mentioned.
