Worried about OL at top of rd 2

QB Snacks : 4/26/2018 12:05 am
Looking at a lot of the final mocks and it doesnt appear any of ragnow, miller, hernandez, wynn, daniels are making it to rd 2. Goes without saying mcglincey and nelson will be gonw. May have to give up a 4 to move up into the end of rd 1 to secure a starter.
Believe me

A good one is going to fall always does every year
Montana

Im not sure we are in position if we start to see a run in the earlys 20s.
Not in a position to

There will definitely someone there that will be worth the pick in round 2. Billy Price would be perfect.
Price seems the most likely to fall

Orherwise theres a big gap to the next guy
What about Braden Smith?
giantstock : 4/26/2018 12:29 am : link
Sy likes him. I read other points. He seems like a solid pick.
we’re gonna need DL too, folks

.
There is a lot of options
sharpshooter66 : 4/26/2018 12:35 am : link
including a possible trade down if you see your guy sitting there between picks 20-32 or so. Dont forget we picked up am extra 3rd in the JPP trade
A lot of OL to consider beyond what seem to be the consensus top 7
Eric on Li : 4/26/2018 12:37 am : link
(Nelson, Ragnow, Hernandez, Daniels, Wynn, Mcglinchey, Price).

Most notably Austin Corbett (#39 on Mayock's top 100), Connor Williams (#40), and Kolton Miller (#31). Also Tyrell Crosby (#65), Braden Smith (#59). Not saying all of those guys should be in consideration for #34, but a few of them are probably ranked closely with the others mentioned.

Also just for some perspective, here's how many OL have been taken before pick 34 over the last 4 years:

2017 - 3
2016 - 7
2015 - 7
2014 - 6

So there should be more than a few interesting OL available in both the 2nd and 3rd rounds.
one will definitely be there

a few players drop into round 2 every year - i have a feeling we'll get a great OL addition this year.
CB is a big need as well
ZogZerg : 4/26/2018 6:22 am : link
there has to be a very good player from one of those 2 groups that we can get top of 2nd.
How many times through the years have we lost out
Big Blue '56 : 4/26/2018 7:47 am : link
on a solid OL in the 2nd and/or the 3rd round BECAUSE of draft position in each of those rounds? Not this year. We will get someone special, imo
We're going to find good OL and perhaps an edge rusher
JonC : 4/26/2018 7:48 am : link
in rounds 2-3.
3 tackles, 3 guards, 3 centers
jeff57 : 4/26/2018 7:49 am : link
One will be there at 34.
I

still think the Giants will draft Crosby at #34. Smith and Price should also be available. Don't panic.
A run of those 7
old man : 4/26/2018 9:07 am : link
means at least 1 of 2 good players fall to 34, and a 2nd tier, mid-upper 70s SY-,graded OL falls there as well.
we dont have a 4 - would have to be one of our 3s
stoneman : 4/26/2018 9:14 am : link
traded 4th for Ogletree - extra 3 for JPP.

Agreed, I would still like to acquire one of the top OL.

Yes they have a 4. They traded the compensation pick...we had two #4s.
I wouldn't put it past Gettleman to trade back into the 1st
AdamBrag : 4/26/2018 9:43 am : link
for an offensive lineman.

However, I suspect the Giants will take one of Daniels, Brown or Okorafor at 34.
Yet another reason to trade down.

It would give us the ammunition to move bacak into the 1st Round to secure the OL DG covets without hampering our roster rebuild.
