The Coming Fury

With about 20% of BBI wanting Barkley, 20% wanting Darnold, 20% wanting Rosen, and maybe 10% each for Mayfield, Allen, Chubb and Nelson, BBI is going to see a lot of Draft Rage tonight after our pick. Maybe it'll be good if the site DOES go down for awhile...
There is a good chance I will disagree with Gettleman’s pick
Oscar : 4/26/2018 7:09 am : link
But I don’t see how you can go nuts tonight. There is no consensus on these guys, if he thinks a player is the best option I hope he’s right.

There will be a lot we don’t know - how they felt about other players, what trade options they had, etc.
I would support all those.....
George from PA : 4/26/2018 7:13 am : link
If QB.....they should look to trade Eli sooner then later.....could be why all the praise.

If it's one of the non-QBs....work out a small trade down...to allow a couple quality OL to come in to complete to reload.
You may be right - Mayfield goes #1

It's gonna be him and I think it's bad. Try to move back and you can still get him

Barkley Chubb could make perfect sense.....

If he becomes this generation Michael Strahan......no one will mind at all.

All those melting down are just emotional migits......

Now, if he is Cedric Jones....while the other options are kicking butt....DG will deserve a beating
I agree

Most of B.B. I will be unhappy after tonight. Like you said, only about 20% happy. I will be unhappy if we draft a qb to hold a clipboard for 2-3 years.
I’ll be disappointed if we stay at 2 and pick someone
beatrixkiddo : 4/26/2018 7:33 am : link
Other than one of the top QB’s. I can’t see it happening with the Jets right behind us, it sort of puts extra pressure on the org. To make sure they take that option away from our neighbors in the same city. If it does then, yes, all hell will break lose.
One of the reason to trade down with Buffalo
George from PA : 4/26/2018 7:37 am : link
Get a ton of picks and screen with the Jets!

If rumors are true....Mayfield going to Cleveland.....I suspect that was Jets #1 choice......

Outrage will rule
Steve in South Jersey : 4/26/2018 7:41 am : link
if the Giants don't pick a QB. Some people are adamant that you have to pick a QB at 2.

Yeah, the best thing that can happen for BBI, if for Darnold to go #1. The best thing for the Giants thou...who knows.
I don't get how you could be outraged

Every possible pick has huge upside

Every one of them has warts

Trading back, while possibly not getting us a blue chip, will allow us to fill a lot of holes.

Disappointed we didn't get your guy? Sure.

Outraged? Get the f over yourself.
Getting upset over who they draft is stupid.
Brown Recluse : 4/26/2018 7:50 am : link
But thats the mistake in getting too wrapped up in this stuff and digging your heels into one side or the other.
Chubb at two
TommyWiseau : 4/26/2018 7:52 am : link
Is not ideal for me. Can get him at 4 or 5

I agree but for the main reason that you are not maximizing the assets value. Pick at 2 has to be QB or you trade down. This needs to be a transformative pick one way (QB for next 15 years) or another (haul of picks)

The point is that teams are going to make offers to pick the QB at 2. The value is the QB there. If you don’t believe in the QBs, fine. Trade down and maximize the assets value. This isn’t complicated stuff.
I'm very optimistic that I won't be part of tonight's rage
Beer Man : 4/26/2018 8:08 am : link
This is one year that I see a number of very good possibilities for the Giants #2 pick, and I believe that DG will go with one of them (i.e., Barkley, Darnold, Chubb, Rosen, trade back, etc.). I'm more worried about day 2 & 3, as the team has a number of needs (IMO some critical) that still need to be addressed (notably the O-line).

Unfortunately I have a feeling that there's a good amount of people on this who have no idea who/what you're talking about. GREAT book.
Likely won’t go crazy here on bbi
The_Boss : 4/26/2018 8:09 am : link
But the responsible move tonight is to take a QB. My preference is either Rosen or Darnold. I don’t think the NYG can viably contend with both Dallas and Philadelphia without better play from the QB position. I don’t see Eli getting this franchise remotely close to the post season in however number of years the FO thinks he has left.

I just know there are/were a large contingent of CW Buffs on the site. I was just curious if I was the only one with the first instinct to think of Catton when reading the thread title.
I'll be very happy with

Barkley or Chubb at 2.

I'll understand Darnold or Rosen at 2 and nod my head in acceptance.

I'll be happy if we take the guard from Notre Dame there, but ... will always wonder if we could have landed him with a trade-down.

Which is why I think for the first time in several years, there's a real chance the Giants trade down ... not too far, but enough to accumulate something AND still get one of the blue-chippers that seem to be so coveted.

Clock is ticking! Exciting day!

As if any of us actually know where he will be selected.
I say embrace the fury...

There are some very interesting draft strategies at play with the #2 pick that will significantly impact the future of this organization.

With an aging QB who has been on a slide for five years, a year end debacle trying to bench Eli, Mara’s confusing messages, Gettlemen’s aggressive roster overhaul, his first draft for Jints Central, etc, this is a watershed opportunity for Jints Central. In fact, I think this is the most critical draft ever for this franchise.

only player I don't want is Allen. I would prefer a trade down, even if Darnold is still on the board, but drafting him or anyone else is fine.
