Do you know if Alonso's defense has gotten any better?

what you know about Vasquez, besides what me, the common fan, knows?

28th round pick last year, 1B, is he a real prospect or just a guy with a hot start?

Maybe a little old for his level?

isn't really producing at first. I think the logical step is to move Bruce to 1B (especially considering how bad his OF defense) to get Nimmo every day time, but I wonder if Alonso can pass Dom and be the next once to get a shot at 1B for the Mets in the show if they want to keep Bruce in the OF for some reason.

He was a legit HS prospect, started at Florida but struggled after his Freshman year and transferred to Northeastern. Power is the big ?? and yes he should be in St. Lucie before long.

14 games 2 errors, too early to say but word was he still looked awkward over there.

May be worse at 1b than Alfonso, small sample size.
Alonso is a better Duda.
Columbia may be the most fun team to follow in our system for now, if youre a fan of the minors.
The Pnoies pen is beyond ridiculous to follow, but somethings not right with Bashlor.
Vegas is just brutal
Oh, and the forgotten one

Full on apologies to Tebow. I trashed him many times. But hats off to him for sticking with it and performing worlds better than anyone would have guessed in their wildest dreams. Serious kudos to him, earned my respectpermenantly.

We went to the Columbia/Charleston game last night, on a beautiful evening for baseball. The 'Flies starting pitcher Renteria got smacked around pretty good, and these weren't seeing-eye singles -- these were line drives and extra base hits. But Columbia's infield kept the score close. The kid at 3B (Terrazas)made 3 pretty good stops on the hot corner, one with the bases loaded to end a threat. The middle infield of Fermin and Tiberi was also smooth. Vasquez mishandled one throw to 1B as I recall, but was not charged with an error.

Fermin was batting leadoff, and he made good contact, but only had a 1-5 to show for it. Tiberi bats behind him and he hit some ropes last night. Vasquez bats cleanup, he is a powerhouse -- a long homer and a triple. Brodey the CF also had a good night at the plate.

The double-header on Tuesday featured the 2 good pitchers Peterson and Viall. So that threw the rotation off a little bit.

One question some had on Alonso was him having big platoon splits with weaker numbers against righties.

He has 1.111 OPS vs RHP this year in 54 plate appearances.
