The case for Davian Webb

I’ve been banging the drum for a QB (either Rosen or Darnold) for the logical reasons discussed here, for some time. The last couple of days as I look more and more at these guys I started thinking. 3 of these 4 guys have similar negatives to Webb (accuracy or playing under center, reading defenses. ) Amd there are issues with Rosen well documented.
I look at Webb with a context of what Shurmur accomplished with Keenum and Foles. And then what Shula did with Cam to help him become a legit QB.
Webb checks all the boxes off the field. He’s big, strong and had arm talent.Basically he had more physical gifts than the guys Shurmur worked with before. My conclusion is work with him reassess after this year, draft Barkley (which I think is likely now) use him all over the field to create Mia matches. I think that’s their best play

Webb has no impact on what the Giants do at #2.

Looks liek the OP is trying to convince himself not to take the guys Rosen or Mayfield. Maybe he doesn't like Mayfield. But Rosen.

If Shurmur can get QB's like Keenum and Foles to play well what would he do for a far more talented player in Darnold or Rosen.

Well that's certainly not true. One of the criticisms of Webb is that he has a tendency to be slow to read defenses and make quick decision.

Davis Webb, CJ Beathard, Cody Kessler, Jacoby Brissett, Garrett Grayson, Sean Mannion, Mike Glennon, Russell Wilson, Nick Foles, Ryan Mallett, Colt McCoy, Kevin O'Connell, Trent Edwards, Charlie Whitehurst, Brodie Croyle, Charlie Frye, Andrew Walter, David Greene.

That is ONE franchise QB over the past 13 years of 3rd round picks. The only reason Wilson fell that far was because of his height.

here, most of you need to learn reading comprehension. Not ONE of you got the gist of my post. We are ALL just armchair fans, except for Sy and a few others, don’t know jack. Anyone who thinks I said Webb is a better passer than Rosen doesn’t know how to read. If Webb played in a pro style offense in college, where would he have been drafted? I don’t know and neither do any of you. Point is, he could be a bust and so could ALL four of these guys. My point was, looking at all of the positives AND negatives of the four prospects and Webb, factoring in what Shurmur and Shula have done with lesser candidates, going with Barkley may be a better play.
Oh and DG said in his press conference, EVERYTHING (inc Webb) factors in.

from day 1. The concussion issue is not well understood here. If you look at it from the standpoint of brain injury, players frequently do NOT get sufficient time to heel this getting a recurrence in short order (voila 2 I’n five weeks).
