As much as I like Barkley or Chubb, I do not want to be in Buffalo's position in a year or two. If DG has faith in one of the QBs then you take him now.
if these QBs are worth it...I think you have to pull the trigger here. We are leaving the Eli era and if Webb turns out to be really good, well thats just a nice problem to have.
I can't believe this is even a debate. We have a 37 year old quarterback that is clearly at the end of his career. Behind him we have what? Hope that a 3rd round developmental QB will one day blossom into a franchise QB? Please.
This draft is LOADED with potential franchise QBs. You draft him tonight and we have something to root for for the next 15 years. Don't overthink this one. It's a layup - team at #2 with an aging and declining QB takes a QB in a QB-rich draft. Easy peasy, summer breezy.
And what's the alternative, a RB? How many great running backs have won a Super Bowl with an average QB? Whereas how many great QBs have won Super Bowls with an average RB?
A decent DE? If Lawrence Taylor was there at 2, sure, okay, maybe you draft him over a QB. Chubb is not LT.
This isn't even close. Get the QB of the future tonight!!!
I think Giants aren't ready to support the investment.
Too much for new coach & GM to get established first with installing new systems & new culture and a lot of other areas that need addressing that you're going to want to have fixed before you add a young QB to the mix.
Even if a QB sits for a year, it's hard to imagine he won't get shortchanged some in his development.

Its the most important position, Eli is getting older and we have the #2 pick. When are we ever going to get this chance again? On the other hand, I would love to see a Giant offense with both Barkley and Beckam together. What fun! Also, Q. Nelson seems like a can't miss superstar on the OL...a weakness for us. I AM SO CONFLICTED!!!
They will have Darnold or Rosen sitting in their lap at number 2. This pick should not in any way trying to help a 3-13 team win the Superbowl in 2018.
It should be about securing the future for this team. For all the "warts" people talk about, people are forgetting how young these 2 QBs are. Eli was 23 when he got drafted, while they are 20 and 21 respectively.
They both have a much higher ceiling than a 37 year old Eli Manning. Do not be short sighted Gettleman. Take the QB.
I want the Giants to take whoever they feel is their #2 player.
he's an error strewn player with terrible footwork. Sure he shrugs off the mistakes but he makes them at an almost unprecedented rate.
You'd be banking everything on the notion he'll get at lot better at the fundamentals. Despite his prowess on the move, he's not fundamentally sound on a play by play basis.

If we go QB. The biggest question for me is whether even my top QB's are close enough to the player that I perceive as the most talented in the draft (Barkley) that the relative position value of QB and RB makes up for the difference. Personally I think Barkley is on a tier of his own with Darnold, Mayfield, Nelson, Chubb, Smith, and Vea all a tier below. The question is how close Tier 1 is with Tier 2.
The Giants LOVE Josh Rosen. They think he is one of the highest rated QB's coming out in the last 20 years. After they pick him tonight, they will openly admit it.
He is a turnover machine. I mean, don't get me wrong, if he gets 2 rings in 14 years like Eli has (who is also a turnover machine), sign me up. But wouldn't you want someone who is not turnover prone as our replacement for Eli?
I want Baker Mayfield. The Giants will NEVER draft him, but I want him, Allen or Barkley at 2. Rosen I would not be upset at, but not a huge fan other than his arm. Which really may be all that matters.
All these QBs scare me in one way or another. Just go BPA and take Barkley.

Trade Back.

If they take Rosen - great.

Bingo

Dilly Dilly!
but not upset because itll be their choice..plus at 2 you're getting a good player most likely
Yes they have the #2 pick and some think they are a RB or DE away from competing.
If they take Rosen - great.
If they take Barkley - great.
If they take Chubb - great.
Agree, but I have to admit my smile would be bigger with Barkley.

No offensive line,no running game, bad defense & terrible special teams, but some a rookie QB will absolutely flourish in those conditions. :)
that's a great problem to have

if you're going to be dead in 3 years, you should do something else than watch football on tv...
Otherwise, cash in on the "ticket" by trading down.
"The future Mr. Gitts, the future."
Do they think that? Or do you think they think that?
