Do you ever get who or what you want in round one?

I did want LT and JPP but most years my first choice for the Giants including 2004 was trade down. The Giants could have traded down in 2004 a couple spots for a 2nd round pick and still got Rivers or Big Ben. I think Accorsi felt that if he took that risk and still got Rivers, San Diego's price would just go up and nothing would be gained. You might call that getting to cute, taking the risk and gaining nothing. So if as usual I don't get what I want (trade down) I want Barkley. I expect the Giants to take a QB!

Was Shockey. I was also very happy with Hakeem Nicks, but they were picking 29th, so at 29, I certainly didn't have ONE GUY I was hoping for.

Tuck in the 3rd round, and about a year later, I learned to not get to fired up in a bad way over draft picks.

Outside of Eli - I wanted Kenny Phillips, Hakeem Nicks and when Prince fell to us, I wanted him as well.

When we got Eli he was exactly who I wanted. I also wanted Joseph and man was that a disappointment. Generally speaking, the Giants take a player that wasn't who I was hoping for. And generally they are right and I am wrong (i.e., OBJ, Engram, etc)

Usually the guy I want gets picked just ahead of Giants on the clock...oftentimes because a team made a trade to jump over us at the last second. Pisses me off when that happens
I forgot about Phillips, I hoped the Giants could get him.

Funny... looking back at the last 30 years of NYG drafts, there is hardly anyone they took who I was actively "rooting" for.

I have to admit, I did buy into the Derek Brown hype. Same with Ron Dayne.

Did you make a final call on who you think they're going to pick and/or who you want them to pick? Sorry if I missed it...

In '88 I wanted Elliott and they took Moore, but got Elliott in the second. So that counts.

2005 a similar thing happened. I wanted tuck with the first pick, though a second round pick, and they got him in the 3rd.

2009 they took Nicks.

I just want a good player.

As I've said, if the Giants think there is a true Franchise QB in this draft, they should draft him.

Barring that, my preference is to trade down (and possibly then trade up) to maneuver to acquire picks and still land a priority target (i.e., Nelson or Chubb or whomever they like).

We need picks.

I didn't even know the Giants were LOOKING to draft a QB. I wasn't even thinking QB. I wanted Sean Taylor. But when they made the move to get Eli, I was thrilled! I thought getting Eli was a pipe dream.

NFL Network showed the Prince Draft over the weekend. They were all over (in a good way) that pick

I liked Beckham quite a bit that year, but I don't think he was my first choice when the pick came around. I don't recall who it was, but I was very happy with the pick. For the most part I like their picks, only a couple of times did they pick a player in the first that I really didn't want. Aaron Ross, Ron Dayne, Wheatley, and Thomas Lewis

Looked it up, it was Martin and Donald as my top guys when the pick came around. Was not disappointed with who they choose but was a bit surprised. I remember Ebron was getting a lot of push for the pick and I did not think he was going to be a good player. Very happy when the Lions took that option away.

I really wanted Donald but I thought Martin also addressed a big need. I remember the last week or two before the draft some posters on BBI suddenly came out big for OBJ to be the pick.

When we were on the clock take out Eli who I assumed was staying in SD before our pick and I wanted Sean Taylor... Add Prince when we were on the clock because I didn't think he would be there.

Why would you have wanted Tredavious White last year? Seems like an odd choice when we had DRC, Jackrabbit, and Eli Apple, and White wasn't even really expected to be a 1st rounder...
