Everything Goodell does makes me like the NFL less. A helluva lot of people have things they need to do on a Thursday night - my son has a Little League game at 6:30, and after that I have work to do. I'm so glad the ginger jackass pulled the draft away from the weekend!
Agreed. I miss the Saturday-Sunday format.
I had a bad feeling about the direction of this league when Tagliabue was leaving. It has been every bit as bad as I thought it was going to be. Goodell sucks.
My passion for NYG is unchanged. My love for the league around them is dying slowly each year.
Dragging the freakin thing out over three days, the bastids!
I like watching the Giants pick, but hearing the talking heads drone on and on, updating their best available players, explaining why they are right and teams are wrong, blah blah blah.
So, for that reason I don't mind the Thursday night round 1 and Friday night round 2 - 3 but only because I usually hate the draft.
this year obviously I have more interest it's a crucial draft for the G-men and they pick 2nd.
but normally I'd check here to see who the Giants picked.
You really can't blame Goodell for doing what the Owners want in maximizing profit.
I could have lived with Friday night first round, and then everything else over Saturday, but the prime time spot takes some fun out of it.
Of course, now that I'm a grandfather with two active travel team ball players, in addition to being a Saturday morning volunteer at the local aviation museum, my weekends are pretty much taken care of...lol.
I also rather be outside on a Saturday
I don't follow the draft as closely anymore because I don't have that same anticipation anymore. I'll watch tonight because the giants are picking at #2, but normally I am content to read about it on BBI the next morning.
And then, the phony bro hugs. UGH!
I miss seeing the draftnik nerds in the balcony living and dying with picks made in rounds 9, 10, 11, and 12. Those guys were the real diehards.
Oh, gawd, those are the worst.

yuck
I'm always sitting on my bus in traffic trying to follow on my phone. It sucked when the Giants traded up for Landon Collins. It's going to suck again tomorrow when the Giants pick second.
And then, the phony bro hugs. UGH!
Yea, what is with that? Shake the man's hand and congratulate him. The hug is inappropriate IMO.
[quote] bugs me is they've turned it into a Oscar-like production... red carpet, glitz, etc.

Everything is like that now, The Espys, the MTV award shows, even the fucking kids choice awards...its utterly ridiculous.
MLB draft is still pretty hardcore
It's only a matter of time before the draft is a full week event with a round per day.
Frees up Saturday and I don’t really feel the need to watch any of the later rounds so it’s a nice little one-night event.
This year I will probably be done watching after the tenth pick or so.
Fucking hate how everyone boos every pick. You're still watching and here spending money yet you boo...just STFU

So do I, I miss the business like analysis that was loved by the true diehards. Now at the sake of the diehards Goodell is trying to please the fringe football fans who tune in for the circus.
The draft starts as they're going to bed, so it's super convenient, and I can pop in and out as I please on Saturday.
