Hey everyone, I'm heading to Chicago with my girlfriend for a few days in May. I've been a few times for business and have a general plan to cover all of the touristy spots.
I'm looking for a good restaurant recommendation. Maybe something around Old Town or Wrigleyville. It doesn't need to be a fancy spot, I just want something with really quality food and something that is different than what you would find here in NY. Price isn't too big of an issue, I'm not looking for Per Se level prices but anything less than the average NYC steakhouse is fine.
For example, when people come to NY and they ask me "give me a steak place", I send them to Peter Lugar's. Something that's kind of unique and different that they will remember - and they get one of the best NYC steaks.
I know that's oddly specific, but recommendations are welcome.
Giordano's
Agree about Giordano's or Lou Malnati's for first class deep dish pizza.
I don't really have neighborhood specific recs, I'm sure some locals can help out, but Chicago is a great city for restaurants, it's hard to find a bad meal there

Joe's Crabshack is great, went there last time I was in Vegas.
I really appreciate all the suggestions, I've written them all down.
You won't regret it. - ( New Window )
