One follows the other. First the mantra was we are getting Darnold if he's there. Then when everyone is reporting that it is Mayfield going one, everyone says, no, we're still passing on Darnold anyway. It's really getting ridiculous.
What Is the Point of saying Giants will go Darnold if there, and then saying Darnold will be there, but they are going Barkley anyway. It's nonsense. Do we have a single beat writer that: a) gets different information; or b) can report something unique?
You are spot on! I guess it makes people feel good and like they Â
are part of the process. After the Giants pick you will getting 1,000's of posts about why did we draft this guy and not that guy, we should have traded down, what do we do with Vinny Boombazt now that we drafted Thunderfoot Johnson!
Morning guys: Anything up today! People who read the GBN will know I am not a big fan of mock drafts. Not because they is anything necessarily wrong with them, but in how people use them. In fact, the one thing that mocks will never tell (except by pure luck) is which particular player a particular team is going to take at a particular point in the draft. And that's the one thing people try and read into them. What mock drafts can tell you in a general way is what players are likely to be available at a particular point. NFL teams also use them to test different scenarios. What will happen if the QBs indeed go early; what might happen if 1-2 of the QBs slipped; what might happen if the Browns keep the 4th pick; what might happen if the Browns trade the pick etc etc.
I stopped worrying about who the Giants will pick. It was always a big waste of time. I know just read about the players we take. Don't get me wrong I do read about the draft I just know the Giants have always made me scratch my head.
Huh? You mean to say there was a time you thought they had some Â
How many people knew who Willie Hernandez was? I know I didnt.
I use mocks to familiarize myself with who is available and what other teams i'm less familiar with are looking at need wise.
If you strictly look at them as a prediction of who is going where you're the one who is making them worthless, not the writer.
