For the sake of full transparency, I'm one of those people that believes the Giants should draft a QB and Eli, while not totally done may not have a ton left in the tank. With that being said, I thought this was an interesting film review of the games Beckham played in this past season. It's behind a paywall but you can sign up for a free trial to read it.
The big takeaways were that Manning still has his arm strength and hasn't declined in that regard although he suffered from inaccuracy and a poor offensive line. Poor accuracy when he did have a clean pocket was seemingly mostly a result of "hearing footsteps". I've seen other posters mention this before but if the OL play does improve, has Manning suffered from terrible OL play for so long that he can't recover from that or not? That's the big question if the OL play does improve...

Bad OL killed David Carr's career.
Are there examples of QBs that have reversed this trend?

Yes, Brady in the 4th qtr of SB XLII...:)
I don't worry about Eli's arm. I worry about the fact that he's played scared the last two years. He may have lost his mojo.
The OL must be fixed.....6 years and counting.
I am not sure if Eli can regain his mojo....but he must or its over
although, during the Green Bay playoff game....I saw the old Eli we love and trust....as he was the beat offensive player on the field.....and of not for those drops from OBJ and others....game co told have gone differently.
It makes much more sense to secure the franchise QB when you have your chance, develop him and look to build around him. Opportunities aren't going to wait until Eli is ready to present themselves.
It's understandable considering the shitty protection he has had but can he revert back to form.
One can hope Eli can get rid of the PTSD.

I don't think he's lost his mojo. He brought us back in Philly and in Tampa when he had his full compliment of receivers. In both games the Giants the Giants were leading when he walked off the field but the defense couldn't hold 'em. Everyone talks about the offensive line, but he had no receivers at all after week 5. I mean, the guys he was throwing to (King, Rudolph, Powe and Roger Lewis) were awful (Sheppard was banged up most of the year too) and he had barely played with any of them before.
Bad offensive line and no receivers. That's a bad hand to play. I get the "mojo" question but I saw some last year and think he can bring it again.

is that most quarterbacks do have a limit on punishment. A big hit or an accumulation of abuse can turn a once-courageous QB into a gun-shy one.

People really over look this. After week five there were WR's getting consistent playing time that shouldn't of even been in the NFL. Even worse, towards the end of the year those same WR's were not just playing, but starting. In addition, we had no running game.
