QB situation

mdthedream : 4/26/2018 12:23 pm
OK Eli plays maybe two more years we have Webb as maybe the next QB. I see it as its not like the Giants can't sign a QB in free agency if Webb doesn't pan out. The money that comes off the books with Eli should help later on. I am OK if we do take a QB but that said I am fine with Barkley or a trade back and get a boat load. I really like the job we have done to this point and the direction we are going.
Totally fine with them picking a QB (or any pick for that matter)

if there’s a Franchise grade on any of them
Im ok with a trade down
sharpshooter66 : 4/26/2018 12:25 pm : link
if we find a partner we can rob, and pick well. Id hate to get 10 new players and only field 1 or 2 decent starters out of them
How many elite QBs make it to free agency?

The best you can hope for is a Kirk Cousins type.

+1

We need a future HOFer, regardless of position. QB HOFer is obviously preferred. Still not comfortable with Nelson at 2nd overall.

With much less then an elite QB

Not as a HC, he hasn't
The situation is fairly simple

We need a new QB, and he might have to play this year.

So draft one...

I've tried explaining this to people, but it makes no difference. The BBI Twitter poll shows that 49% of people want Barkley and only 42% want a new QB. I've given up on trying to convince people of the reasoning behind it. Either I'll be right or they will. But one thing I know is I'm not wasting any more time trying to explain myself. And I certainly won't spend much time on there tonight if we draft Barkley.

Have you made sure Gettleman knows how you feel?

him sooner vs later, we won't have a winning record for years...

Unfortunately, that 49% will be the ones screaming within two years that the Giants don't have a viable qb option. It's also fairly bewildering that the Giants fans think it's just as easy a going out in free agency and finding the next franchise guy. It is rare, if ever a franchise qb makes it to free agency.

Nonetheless, I do have the feeling that the Giants are on the verge of a monumental failure by selecting a running back. I have no confidence in this organization right now.

issue is I am not sure a franchise QB is there and if we pick the right one. Also I am not sure if Webb could be better than the guy we take like Kurt Cousins was to RG. So I feel like if we don't take one and get a boat load and who knows maybe draft a QB next year or in the second round. The Giants will be fine.

We've arrived at Draft Day, and we're less than eight hours away from the Giants' pick. So we'll figure out whether Gettleman played this process like a champ or - if he drafts a RB - a chump. It's my opinion, and I'm entitled to it. You don't have to agree with me (and by sheer odds, you don't). Maybe you think I'm being overly dramatic; I don't.

Next years class is not good. If they take another mid round qb, it's hard to accept that, because that means the Giants know they need a qb but aren't willing to invest a premium asset.
If we take barkley

I’m very worried for the direction of this franchise. I have a feeling today is the day the fortunes in NY change from the giants being on top to the jets.

Overly dramatic? Nah. Agree with you? My opinion is that there is a reason Gettleman holds a job that only 31 other human beings on earth hold. Maybe - just maybe - he knows more about the grades of college football players in this draft than I do.

It's fun ... but that's all it is. I'll be excited by whomever the Giants select and I won't pretend to think I know more than the guys who actually get paid to do this for a living.
