Awesome homestand: 8-2 even after splitting the first two against the dreadful Marlins. Much needed boost as we venture off into a difficult road trip.
The last time the Twins took the season series with the Yankees was 2001. Since that season, including the playoffs, the Twins are 26-79 against the Yankees, plus 1-10 in the playoffs - 27-89 total. And a bunch of those Twins teams were really good, too. The best they've done is splitting the series in 2004 and 2006.
tuned in just now to see the Sanchez highlight on ESPN!
On to LA to play the Angels, that will not be quite like playing the Twins at the Stadium ... I think? Who knows, the way the team's playing right now.
or go with the Sirius NFL channel. Figured what the heck I'll listen to the last few innings. Geez that blast even woke up Sterling! He had been off and on dozing while Susan was there but was basically snoring by the bottom of the 9th. Then Gary hits the blast and he almost broke the speaker. Of course his usual descriptive self. Only said it was "gone off the bat to left". Never described that it was down the line or that there was some doubt it might go foul. That's baseball Susan!
1. Austins suspension reduced from five to four games
2. Frazier plays his first rehab game tonight for the Tampa Tarpons
3. Drury was 2 for 4 in his rehab game yesterday
4. Bird is leaving town to start his rehab assignment
5. McKinney is also leaving town to start his rehab
But how do we deal with the roster issues without making a trade once everyone is, hopefully, healthy? Austin sure deserves to be on the roster, as does Bird, and we need BP depth badly given our starting pitching.
The cherry on top with Sanchez’s game winning HR Â

Torres on second with one out and top of the order coming up
And they shit the bed, but I'm still expecting them to smoke Rodney.
I called that one..
El Gary smokes Fernando Rodney....
Nailed it
If only we could play the Twins about 80 times per season.

What a win!

It’s honestly strange at this point. We’ve completely had this teams number for about 15 years now. The straight playoff wins against them too
Ha! Similar situation for me. On the job, so couldn't continue watching after lunch. Really sorry I missed Gary's big hit.
It's gonna happen eventually. I feel bad for the rest of MLB when it does.
Again, this is where Stanton not only needs to get hot but get smart. Don't chase, don't force it. Pass the baton.

Thanks. 4 is better than 5.
Yeah, Otani doesn't pitch again until next week.

I just hope the HR still counts...
