Jason Witten's announcements and the send off he had was genuine. I believe even Jerry Jones had crocodile tears of appreciation of his services. Witten was a pain in the ass I never felt satisfied the way we stopped him. We never did! He always made us regret when we missed a coverage against him.
Seeing Witten's sendoff amoungst coaches and players were lined up to wish him well.
I thought of Eli.
Eli must get the admiration back, to being an Elite player.
Right now I have the memories of the Super Bowl, but he has to get back to being a ligitimate force.
Right now its the loyalty you show to a Godfather with respect due, because he is a family member who gave us Super Bowl victories.
Football is about the last play. Guys of Eli's era are starting to retire, Eli has to do it this year !
AGAINST THE GIANTS.
No. They never DID stop his ass.
Do you even fucking know what crocodile tears are??
...
It's Peggy so ...
Madden was great on those games - always kept asking why during a Giants/Rams game - "why can't the Giants stop the screen pass to Robert Delfino?" It's nit like he was Marcus Allen, Walter Payton, or Roger Craig?
I’ve strangely come to enjoy this guy’s posts. Ligitimate Force!
If Eli does nothing more this year than sneeze when he takes the field in September, he will have done more to earn the respect of this fan base than anything ever done by every active Dallas Cowboy combined!

Haha, I was thinking the same thing
Eli's autograph, a permanent stain in the Dallas Stadium visitors locker room. :D
It's our own fault
just kidding
He was good, very good....he and Romo could complete a 1st down on us anytime they chose to
glad to hear he retired
It's our own fault
They guy was a competitor. He wanted to win and was preparing himself to do just that every week.

Who was the Giant LBer who could cover anyone?
Witten was obviously a match up night mare for most teams. Really outside of Shockey (and Bennett for a year), the Reese Giants seemed to use the tight end position as much more traditional blocking guys than some of them more innovative NFL teams. It would have been nice to see Eli in his prime paired with Engram, but at the very least, the Giants now seem to realize the value of this position in today's NFL.
Good player - I guess the other teams have them too.
It seems that most fans don't realize that Witten's per-game averages against the Giants are virtually identical to his overall career per-game averages against the entire league. He didn't save his best work for the Giants; he was incredibly consistent in general.
