Long time BBIer here..
Sorry to be doing this, but I could use some help for my 10 year old.
This is not a serious thing, but it could really help out the confidence of my 10 year old son and his public speaking.
My son gets nervous speaking in front of bigger groups when the focus is all on him. I am thinking most kids go through this at some point.
In any event, my son loves gaming and loves the videos that these guys come out with on YouTube.
I told him he should start his own channel, but he wasn't allowed to put his face on the video. So he did but only recorded videos of his gameplay without sound. Then, he asked me for a microphone, which surprised me, so I bought it for him.
This is his first video with sound. He is dying for people to watch it and comment on it. If you possibly have 4 minutes to spare and feel like watching it and putting quick comment, I think this could go a long way to helping his confidence.

Thanks to all!!
And I think 10 is kind of young anyway IMO to worry about it, but I'm not trying to give parenting advice. You know your kid.
I only base my opinion on my kids. My twins never feared anything, they were in constant competition with each other.
But my youngest also had/has some public speaking fears/nerves (and she's still 10 too), but she was making video stars and music.ly (some ipad apps) videos with her friends non-stop.
Maybe it will, I don't know. My youngest has had a couple book reports or presentations at school and got through it so I haven't thought about it since she mentioned she was nervous.
One thing to look at though, if you want him to become well accomplished at a young age as a public speaker is to find your local toastmastrs group and see if they have a youth program.
My local chapter does.
Can't recommend it enough. So many things in life could depend on a person's ability to communicate and communicate well in a variety of settings.

I will watch when I get home, but the advice here given is golden
When I heard him do the video, I noticed that there wasn’t much of the dysfluency, so that was encouraging.

Good for him. It took courage for him to do that, I hope he enjoys it and gets something out of it.
Tell your son to keep up the good work and keep rolling out the videos.

Neck ... he's a pretty funny little dude. Congrats to you!
When we looked and saw over 100 views, over 12 likes and like 10 comments, he was speechless and almost cried.
He was in awe and immediately said to me "Dad, I can't wait to make the next one, can I do it as soon as we get home?"
Thanks again to all for making his day and supporting him!!
Have a great weekend!

That's nice.
supporting the development of his young son. Good luck!
I wouldn't worry too much about anxiety when speaking to or in front of large groups - that is very common phobia.

I wish BBI had a "Thumbs up" button so I wouldn't have to type - Thumbs Up. : )
If you didn't tell me - I would have never known. And I didn't just type that to be nice. I didn't hear anything wrong with his speech.
He is fine and he will be fine.
Public speaking is one of the greatest fears people have. The fact that he acknowledged this was his first video was good and you can tell he was gaining confidence as he went on.
As other have opined, I have no idea how this will carry over to actually speaking in front of a group.
Again, he sounded great.
Good for you for encouraging him with something he enjoys. Not all parents will let their kids play games or upload videos like that but at least you're taking an interest and keeping an eye on what he does. Who knows, maybe it'll turn into a love of video editing or something for him in the future and lead to a potential school/career path. You never know.
