NFT: NBA: Bucs to interview Becky Hammon for head coach

From Woj: The Milwaukee Bucks plan to interview San Antonio Spurs assistant Becky Hammon for the franchise’s head coaching job, league sources tell ESPN. Hammon is the NBA’s first female assistant coach -- and now will be the first to interview to be a head coach.

She is a good coach.

As usual, in sports the only real issue is the bottom line, which is tied to winning.

. I can’t see them taking coaching strategy advice from a gender they treat like pieces of meet on a daily basis.

College maybe.

Seems like a formality or PR stunt.

She has been an assistant for what 2 years? Maybe 3?

What is on her resume that makes you think she will be a good coach?

on Pop’s SA staff and is highly thought of by him and those players has a legit resume in my book.

how good a assistant coach is or is not. That said, Pop is about as good as they come, and him holding her in high regard says a lot to me. It seems pretty unlikely to me she gets this job, but I think it's a positive thing for her to get opportunities.
I think it unlikely that Hammon will get the job now

However, I do think she is on the path to becoming an NBA HC in the future. That would be pretty cool when it happens.

Absolutely in the future, I still think she needs a few more years as an assistant

I just hope they’re serious about interviewing her (I believe they are), and not just doing it for PR. Sounds like she has some chops as a coach, deserves to be taken seriously

I want to see her get a job when she is ready and succeed, 2jo knows maybe she is ready now
