NFT: God Of War and Other Gaming

I’ve ever seen, But it’s ridiculously hard. I’ve been playing for two weeks now and still can’t beat the second boss.

Really? I dont really find the game all that hard. Which boss?

Red Dead is the game I'm most looking forward to.

Detroit: Become Human looks interesting too. That one comes out in a couple of weeks.

Agreed and agreed. I had to move the difficulty down to the easiest to get past a boss and that is just silly. Overall not feeling the game as much as I had hoped.

RDR2 looks incredible...

is going to win Game of the Year. I haven’t wanted a game to come out this badly since Breath of the Wild, which won Game of the Year as well.

and it corrupted so I just have to assume John Marston rides off in the sunset at the end with little Joey yelling, "John, come back". But the old ways of the west are ending and there's no place for John anymore.

is amazing. It's such a well put together piece of art. I think it has a shot at game of the year, especially if Red Dead 2 can't resist creeping online/multiplayer/microtransaction stuff into the main campaign.

I think I'm still only about 20-25% into God of War but I really just want to take my time and explore now that the world is opening up a bit. The game feels like a mix of Last of Us and Dark Souls (although not nearly as hard as Dark Souls even if God of War isn't an easy game).

is the customization menus are a bit confusing.

wait until you try taking on some of the Valkyrie's.

The fire realm where you fight your way up that mountain is tough once you get past the first couple of "swords".

The menu's got to me too at first but once you take the time to familiarize yourself it shouldn't be as confusing.

Red Dead should be amazing of course.

Anyone have any "retro/indie" suggestions?

Just played Celeste and loved it. Now need something else.

I dont see the comparisons to the last of us other then having a younger AI character with you. I've seen this a lot so not singling you out.

I've been contemplating giving this game a shot, but I'm pretty picky on what types of games I like spending time on these days.

Can any of you give a description on what type of game this is or a comparison to other games?

I like open sandbox like GTA, Skyrim but also like the traditional MGS stealth versus the newest version of Metal Gear that sucked balls bc of the sandbox style repetiion.

Mass Effect II is also an all-time fave.

I think he’s called stranger. The little dude with no shirt and a beard. I almost threw the remote at the New 4K Tv getting pissed at that dude.

Didn't really have a problem with any of the main bosses.

Some other characters gave me problems though.

Just beat the game, but what I love about it, is I missed so much stuff with side missions, favors, etc and am going through all of that now because it is a lot of fun.

After beating the game, make sure to travel back to your home and rest.

Youre Kratos. You shouldnt be struggling against random enemies. You should be kicking ass.

I went in with the mind set to do as much side quests as I can. Making kicking the crap out of the main fights easier when I get there. The Valkarie on the mountain is currently messing my world up though

And using defense and counter striking seems very important so far

There is a learning curve to the combat. You can’t charge in trying to smash everything. That gets punished harshly.

had to turn it down to easy for that 2nd boss. Seems like you really start the game under powered. Once you start leveling up the ax and the kid's bow it gets much more balanced.

Love the game but I agree I do not see it as an epic masterpiece either. It's pretty much the same thing over and over. I just want to be done with it already. I liked the settings/ set pieces / boss battles in the previous games more. Maybe the last 1/4 of the game will make me change my mind

He wants to play Battle Royal? Something to do with that Fortnite game? He goes to download and it says unavailable?

Does anyone know a work-around for that? I cant find the game at any store, to purchase a disc.

If he's 11, he may not be allowed to download it. My son is 14 now but when he first got the PS4 he couldn't play online games because of his age (I think it was 13?)

Fortnite is an online game and Battle Royale (the version everyone wants to play) is free to download but then there's a ton of ways to get you to spend money, mostly adding "skins" to your character with in-game purchases.
