Ramsey’s digs are simpler now& #8202;—& #8202;you’re trash; you won’t catch a pass; that was weak& #8202;—& #8202;but what makes them so effective is that they never stop. “I’m like a gnat,” Ramsey says. “I’m going to say something every single play. Literally every single play.” |
Top 3 CB in the game, bigger and as fast as ODB, will trash talk his face off to get Beckham off his game.
If Beckham survives this, he will get an extension. If he blows up (I think likely given how badly Ramsey got AJ Green to melt), ODB wont be a Giant in 2 years.
that simple, boys.
Brown will get his catches regardless of the opponent. But the Jaguars do not move Ramsey/Bouye to match up against the 1/2 receivers. For the most part, Ramsey handles the left side and Bouye handles the right. So you would have to breakdown the individual snap counts to see who was responsible for Brown on a given play and Brown's longest completion was 43 yards. Take that chunk of yardage out of Brown's 132 yards, and I would hardly consider that a "torching".

Torch Jalen Ramsey in that playoff game? Ramsey is good but he isn’t prime Deion Sanders to be talking reckless.

Yeah well you can't take that 43 yd completion out of his total because it happened and is part of it. Maybe all the other catches played a part in him getting that long one or vice versa.
Interesting to note, sure. The single deciding factor and checkpoint for his extension? Well...

But he does make a good point, opening week matchup between Ramsey and OBJ (I assume they’ll have JR shadow OBJ all day) is a really interesting one to look forward to

Haha yeah that’s a reach.

I'm not discounting it. I'm also not going to look up the indiv. snaps, but I believe that 43 yard chunk came against Bouye. I was pointing out to the poster that made the comment that Ramsey is reckless in his brash talk and how Brown torched Ramsey when in reality Brown had catches that were made against multiple defenders.
Sherman is overrated, because he yells stupid nonsenensical things that scared a FOX female sports reporter. He always had trouble covering smaller elusive receivers.
Just spreading the moronic takes all over the place!!

You beat me to it. One stupid musing after another. I 'm seriously considering reading NFT only until training camp starts.

I agree with you for the most part there. I didn't break down who he caught what against either.
Your post is pretty spot on, it's just I don't ever like the whole "take that one catch away" or whatever play in a sport we're talking about.
This place has fallen pretty far if that's the case.
Beckham didn't really 'torch' him. He finished with 7 rec on 9 targets for 108 yards. And, IIRC, Eli didn't 'miss' Beckham for a TD, Earl Thomas covered an insane amount of ground to pick it off in the end zone. Probably the only S in the game that makes that play.
Sherman did say after the game that he was very impressed by Beckham's ability and performance (paraphrasing).
ramsey is trying too hard to be dieon part 2 same college and same position in the pro's so he feels he needs to try and emulate him too much in other aspects, he is a very good player thou, and that jacksonville defence will be a hard test for that new OL with the passrushers they have they will be tested early and often in game 1
but barkley is the perfect weapon against an aggressive passrush both running and passing, turning short passes into bigger gains will keep them off balance, use ellison to help the OT clear out the ends to spring barkley as well which is what mac never used ellison for and should have. he was brutaly under used last year
they didnt have a RB like barkley last year but gallman/perkins could have used some of that blocking stewart is probably going to be the short yardage and goalline back in the offence at least early in the year

I remember when Richard Sherman was in his prime with the Seahawks and went up against a young OBJ and got his ass torched. As good a game as he had, Eli missed him a few more times for TD's. Good luck if OBJ is healthy Ramsey!

To be fair, said FOX female sports reporter wasn't scared. It was the FOX viewers that were. Also, it wasn't nonsense, Crabtree sucked lol.
Hopefully Saquon joins that club :)
