I checked their writeup of last night's game, and they refer to RF at Yankee Stadium as "the HO-scale right field." I'm always brain-sprained by Red Sox fans complaining about the right field dimensions at Yankee Stadium, considering that Fenway has the shortest RF foul pole in all of ball, and they have the novelty in left field.
ROSTER MOVE: 1B Greg Bird and OF Billy McKinney added on MLB rehab assignments. C Francisco Diaz placed on the 7-Day DL. C Kellin Deglan added from Double-A Trenton. #Tarpons #Yankees
Seems like Bird is only a couple of weeks away. I like Austin but he is no Bird. We need the lefty power in this lineup.

I guess we can blame the RF dimensions for Judge blasting one over the centerfield wall? Or Gardner blistering a line drive over Betts’ head because he was inexplicably playing basically on the infield?

Anyone else read that as Tampa Tampons? Terrible name.
the whole bullshit Bosox "Bob Cratchit", the Yankees win because Â
they have money is not only nauseating but patently false. Who invented the own your own TV network model? The Red Sox. First $20 mil/yr long term contract? The Redsox signed Manny Ramirez 8yrs for $20 mill per. Their fans as as stupid and whiny as they are loyal.
Gardner isn't hitting a lefty but maybe the guy will be knocked out Â
early. Hicks can't hit that well righty so you are damned either way. Walker now a days seems prosperous exclusively from the left side. Need more flexibility and would have it if Frazier, Drury and or Bird were here. Though thats being a bit overly optimistic.
So its Torreyes over Romine in the end if you juggled differently

Boston and all of their fans are assclowns.
Sox fans still like to claim Ortiz was clean. For frame of reference about the intelligence you deal with when it comes to Boston
In addition to paying Al Czervik Price $32 million/year for 4 more years after this, the Sox are paying Sandoval $18 million this year and next, while he hits .240 for the Giants. Lulz
I’m with you 100%. Just in the past couple of weeks I’ve seen probably 5 groundballs that should have been double play balls turn in to only one out because the players aren’t in position to turn two. Thecshift is being overdone at this point
even Jerry Remy is questioning some of the calls. Bad combination of pitcher that lives on the bottom of the strike zone with an ump that is giving the low and inside pitch.
He swung at two balls, well before he got “umped”. That’s all on him.
And he took a ball that was called a strike, but, that’s on Austin. The at bat sucked.

For Austin. Cannot swing at balls like that with the bases loaded.
Doesn't change the fact that he was rung up on a pitch clearly out of the zone.
So, if I’m understanding you right, if a batter swings at balls, it gives the ump authority to call shit ass strikes because, well, he swung at balls anyways! That’s exactly the problem with umpiring nowadays. No accountability. How about letting the players decide games? If Austin swings at 3 bad pitches, it’s on him. If he only swings at 2, he still gets one more. Those are the rules. It’s about time the umps do their freaking jobs. The strike zone this season has been embarrassing
I think that everyone is right. Austin (and others) have been Â
replay erases incorrect calls made right in front of the umps eyes. Eventually technology will take over the strike zone calls. The strike zone with the superimposed box shows balls and strikes . In fairness to the umps these pitches are firing 99 mph which must be hard to see.
RE: RE: RE: RE: I am sorry, but that is an AAAA at bat Â
If the ump is bad, it doesn’t absolve you from swinging at bad pitches. The calls have sucked. But so did that at bats. When the Uno is this bad, you can’t help either.

I agree Larmer. I think Austin was a flash in the pan. Nice power, but just not a major league batter.
When he was money giving up home runs were a rare occurrence. Every 15 or 20 innings. Now every 3 or 4 innings. He is hittable and erratic. He is my guy for Mr Mop up

but that loss was annoying. We need Kahnle and Warren back. Having Betances pitch a second inning after 7th inning warning and a LONG half-inning is unfair. Then he gave up a HR that's an out everywhere else.
with where the Yankees are, what a run they have been on!! If Bird ever comes back it will be a boost to a stacked team.
Even though Gardner was the hero last night, you still have to worry about him long term. Hopefully Frazier can tear it up. Frazier was the #2 prospect behind Gleyber, gotta believe he can be a good one.
I just don’t want to see the Yankees make a crap deal for a pitching rental.
expecting to see the Yanks had come back to win. Sounds like a good late game battle, couldn’t finish it last night.
As we’ve all talked about, great run through basically 3 weeks of the AL’s best...but would be nice to see the bats really get hot. Bullpen could use a blowout or two to get a little breather from all these high leverage playoff type games
Made 'em sweat at leats. Would have been nice to sweep, but Â
I'll take 2 of 3 all season.
* I didn't think Betances pitched poorly. It was a good pitch in on the hands that Matrinez musceld into a Yankee Stadium cheapie. Sometimes a short porch goes against you. Ask Mike Torrez.
* Austin's at bat with the bases loaded was Little League stupid. Guy can't throw a strike (without the umpire helping that is. More on that later.) and he goes up hacking at garbage int he dirt. Guys who said Austin we be on the bubble ffew weeks back were right. Walker is hitting, he's a swtich hitter and a more intelligent hitter, and now he's taking grounders at 3rd in practice. Perfect bench player. Austin doesn't have that versatility.
* Love seeing Judge hitting singles and doubles again. And the kids Torres and Andujar continue to impress.
* Sorry to repeat from yesterday, but I don't like Torryes at 3rd. Arm is too weak and it cost them yesterday.

True. Especially disappointing after another of those amazing late rallies to tie things up.
at bat was very frustrating. The pitcher has been wild and you have a 2-0 count on you with the bases loaded and you swing at ball 3. I was yelling at the TV to take a strike.
Hopefully we won't have to use him as a PH :)

Thank God Sonny Gray isn't on the mound. We might still be in the first inning.

Come on man. Gray has been much quicker his past two outings. Do we have to complain about everything?

Damn bro. It was a sarcastic remark. Not complaining at all. Ive been one of Sonny's supporters all along.

Yes! who ever thought of that name and who ever approved it should be fired.

And here we go. Ugh. I dont mind losing, but that was a piss poor effort from Austin.
Eduardo Rodriquez blows, they better score at least 3 runs off this bum.
It was def borderline, but it was not a horrendous call.
Time for Boone to pop his cherry and get in this guy’s face until he gets run
Austin should get a foot up his butt for swinging at ball 3 and 4 before the blown strike out call.
Doesn't change the fact that he was rung up on a pitch clearly out of the zone.
You are allowed 3 strikes. Who knows what happens if he gets that third strike?

Maybe he's not our answer, but Austin will find a home somewhere in the league if he stays healthy ..
He's worked hard for this power , I'll give it to him
Red Sox have bleeders and seeing eye singles, dropped balls...Yanks cant touch Rodriguez.
except I was in the wrong thread.
Red Sox must wish they could play 6 inning games.
He's a one inning guy now. That's two straight outings where he was lights out in the first inning and not the second.
Need Warren and Kahnle back in the worst way
Hes a Sawks fan no less.
Somebody should dump a beer on that little turd's head.
No big deal, just get it back
No big deal, just get it back
I still say throw the kid back while hes holding the ball. 😈
Not much of a choice with the limited pen.
Heckuva 13 game stretch.
2-1 Angels
3-1 Astros
3-0 Indians
2-1 Red Sux

On to Oakland.
On to Oakland.
exactly. he pitched well and Martinez was able to fight off a good pitch. In Boston it was an out
