for 10-12 years now we've heard all this happy talk from players, coaches and front office people year after year about rookies and UDFA only to watch them pratfall, get knocked on their asses, and look like they were standing still compared to the opposition during the season.

Let's see Hernandez stop some 7 year vet in the regular season first before listening to his happy talk.

Let's see something during the season from these rookies for once.

Jesus Debby Downer, lighten up. By the way we won 2 SB’s In the last 12 years so I hope the happy talk continues. What should Hernandez say, I am a rookie and expect to get knocked on my ass until I learn the pro game? Should Shurmur come out and say most of these guys suck and won’t make the team?

yes...but you know everything said will be positive..they cant say anything negative because it'll be bad. Just a rule these offseasons
Interesting comment Shurmur made about
DonnieD89 : 5/12/2018 2:14 pm : link
Landon Collins reporting earlier that Flowers was upset that Solder was signed by the “That’s not for Landon to talk about,” Shurmur said. “The important thing is let’s let Ereck talk for Ereck when he gets here and we’ll worry about that later. I don’t think our players should be talking about another player’s situation.”. Giants staff is definitely setting the tone and culture.

Good for Shurmur, he won't tolerate any fighting this season. Collins should know better than to air grievances through the media. Keep that stuff in house. Those comments can create a division in the locker room that is difficult to repair.

Yeah the Giants never get any production from rookies! Except for Beckham and his record breaking rookie season, Tomlinson, Engram, and Gallman last season, or Apple, Shepard, and Perkins the year before.

Found it interesting that D-lineman B.J. Hill (third-round pick) hadn't heard or spoken to any defensive veterans yet. Leadership was a problem last year on that defense. #Giants

Need some leaders besides Collins to step up on D now.
And just as important, Collins needs to become a better leader. Stop trashing his teammates in public. And it sure was a head-scratcher when he said he wouldn't want to play for Belichick because he's too demanding and he had enough of that with Saban...
Quote:
"The way (Belichick) runs his organization, I've been through that process," Collins told the New York Post. "I don't like it. It's too strict...I talked to guys who played for (his) team. They love winning, but at the same time, they don't want to be on the team."
That's not what I want to hear from a team leader!
As for Lauletta's reported struggles...
Milton : 5/12/2018 4:46 pm : link
Eli was unimpressive his rookie minicamp and so was Rodgers.

Interesting that

WR Will Watson gets a mention.

He had a great junior year in college for British Columbia, but was hurt almost his entire senior season in Canada. Only caught 7 passes the entire season.

Last week he was drafted in the 7th round in the CFL draft.

Watson is a small but quick slot receiver. He is 5'11" and 183 pounds.
