1. Gettleman
2. Shurmur
3. Barclay
4. Oline upgrade
5. Beckham
6. Eli (How could any quarterback succeed with no running game, Flowers and Hart as bookends, Lewis, King and Marshall as receivers. Eli will be good this year.)
7. The new defense. The Giants suffered from lack of a pass rush especially from the inside. OV had tons of pressures but few sacks because qbs could simply step up in the unchallenged pocket. Gettleman and Betch are trying to fix that with the addition of Hill and McIntosh. A penetrating one gap defense will result in more TFLs and stuffs and that will present many more pass rush opportunities. I think Betch will find ways to bring the heat.
8. Dline rotation insuring fresher players in the fourth quarter.
9. Vastly improved linebacker play. Hey, we've got linebackers!
10. A much better locker room vibration. Even though they're young Barclay, Hernandez, Zo, Lauletta and Hill exemplify the attitude that you want. Veterans like Solder will also promote harmony in the room. It will be a much happier and consequently a more productive family.
No jewelz, just regular?

Oh please. You happy with spoiled hot dogs on the grill too? 6 wins is never a success. Not even in 2004. 6 wins is garbage and I guarantee you no matter how that 6 wins transpires in 2018, not one giants fan including yourself will be content with it.
Anything short of a winning record will be disappointing.
Fix OL....once that is done.
Then other questions can be answered....one way or the other...
Also Couple good players dumped and replaced w some mid level draft picks and free agent scrap types.

+1.
You don't know until the games are played.
Given the new HC, system s, player turnover, rookies expected to start(almost) immediately, injuries(please noooo!!!), the bounce of the ball, and that schedule,
9 Ls may be a better arrow indicator for the direction of the team than 2016,s 11-5 and false hope.
11. Eleven players on the field at the same time!
12. All wearing the same uniforms!
13. Using a football made of leather!
14. Playing on a field 100 yards long!
15. And who eat lunch at Bareli's!
That takes us to 14 wins. Should at least get us in the playoffs!
Im not trying to be a dick here, i hate that saying.
Evey team, every year, is a win now team. "Rebuilding" doesnt really happen anymore unless your Cleveland or another completely dysfunctional org.
Some teams will put emphasise on certain areas but very rarely is there a complete rebuild anymore.
But, if the Giants had taken a quarterback with their first pick, no matter how they would spin it, that would not have been all in on Eli.
Their draft was about becoming a contender before Eli s tenure is done. How many years is that, 1, 4 at the most. They have spoken, this is not a rebuild.
I stand by my original opinion
And you can take that to the bank...Barclay's Bank.
Will they or the dline rotation insure fresher plAyer rotations? What's the premium?
I want to know how that will change this season.
My bet is 5-11
There have been a lot of changes all over the roster, front office, coaching staff. We still have a lot of really talented players, and ones that seemed to cause drama are either gone or on notice.
How in the world would 6 wins be a success?
That would completely SUCK!!!
THAT is what I'm looking forward to more than anything. I've honestly lost quite a bit of interest in recent years because of injuries.
What joy is it to watch guys come off their sofa's to start at WR?
The 2nd half of the schedule is not tough at all. If things come together by the midway point in the season, we could absolutely make a run against those opponents. If we can somehow make it through the first half of the season 4-4, I think we have a very good chance at going 10-6.

You can't be serious ... I do not expect for The Giant's "Rome" to be built in a day. If we finish 7-9 you wouldn't be like "okay at least we are moving in the right direction now"?
We have all the Offensive weapons we need (maybe a short a valid #2 WR .... that will be signed after vet cuts in Sept.?) ... but, until that OL proves it to me - I cannot be optimistic. It all starts and stops right there.

Yeah, it kinda would Beez ... I really think the Giants are loaded with offensive weapons. But, although the team made some significant changes to the OL in the off-season - that unit still has to prove it to me. On paper they look much improved ...
Doubling the 3 of wins we had last season would be a step in the right direction. I hope we go 16-0 but, after the debacle of last season - I will take a doubling of the wins as a significant step up. And, then if they double the wins again in 2019 (12 wins) - that would be a great turnaround (IMO) in a relatively short amount of time.
There are still a lot of holes in both units.....RT, RG, WR, uncertainty of OBj......DE, DT, LB, FS, CB(2)......
Until we see this OL play as a unit, until we see if Eli's clock has been reset, until we see OBj play like the old OBj, until we see some of Shurm's schemes, we have no idea how much improvement this offense will make.....
Defense? 3-4 or 4-3? The only way we get some semblance of a pass rush, Bettcher will have to be very "creative".....when was the last drafted Giant DLman a force as a rookie? Think a third and fifth round picks are those guys? Carter? Plenty of speed as long as no one is in front of him.....I don't see him manhandling NFL tackles.....in coverage? That remains to be seen....
We do have more talent at LBer than we have had in a long time....
But the defensive backfield is a huge question mark...Jenkins, when healthy, is our best....Which Collins shows up this year? Apple has to really elevate his game.....FS is just manned by bodies....who is the 3rd CB?
Neither unit can afford a serious injury(s), with no depth at all......
But I hope Shurm, plays his regs, more in preseason, than the Giants have done the last couple of seasons, to be ready right out of the gate......
He will have enough talent to brew up some effective attacking schemes.
Common denominator? O system sucked both years under a HC more responsible for the offense.
2nd year entire team realized he was in over his head and lost hope.
